Single mother working on medical leave due to broken ankle. She is needing 481.00 for rent assistance. Careportal assisted with uber card recently to help child get 11 year old daughter to school. Mother does not drive due to seizure disorder and uses electric bycicle. She shares she has no family in Houston but in Louisiana. She was able to pay rent with workmans comp for June but workmans' comp is over and she is still healing from ankle. I referred her to work programs addressing transport and health. Children ages 12 and 11. Her son is in care of grandfather who brought 12 year old son to visit for summer only but parent is struggling with health and finances. She also has to pay light bill and her phone is disconnected. She is able to use 12 year old's phone that grandfather unlocked this morning from afar. Mother reports she lacks support and connection.

I have an older caregiver who is willing to care for her grandbaby, who will be released from the hospital soon. The caregiver is need of an Infant car seat, so she is able to transport the infant to upcoming doctor appointments, etc.

Mother is 1 month post partum with a 1 month old baby boy and also has an 8yo son. She is not able to go back to work at this time due to her youngest not old enough to go to daycare or being able to afford child care in general. Mother's boyfriend is abusive towards her and is battling addiction. He is not allowed at the home at this time and is not working due to being in rehab. At this time she is not able to make her rent that is due on July 1st. She is on the verge of being evicted and will not have any where to go. She is needing assistance at this time with this matter to help keep her and her children safe in their home.

Great Maternal Grandmother is currently taking care of her Great Grandson with sever special needs who is nonverbal and suffers from seizures. Great Maternal Grandmother is on a fixed income and has recently been having issues with her air conditioner unit outside in which is keeps going out. Great Maternal Grandmother is asking for assistance with purchasing a window unit due to the faulty air conditioner unit in her home which she cannot afford to replace.

Hello, I’m need of help for 5 children who are lacking food. Ages range from 1-7 years old. I would really appreciate for any help.

The family is living in a one-bedroom rundown apartment. There are 4 girls sharing a nasty dirty rundown queen or mattress. The boy has a broken-down dirty twin mattress. There is a 5th daughter. She is staying with a friend as few doors down. Parents want her home; she does not want to return. If she does a bed can be requested for her later. The father works and tries to provide for the children. Ages of the girls 17, 9, 7, and 3. The boy is 12. The girl outside the home 14. The beds would need to fit in one room.

****FOOD SCARCITY IS AN ISSUE, **We are in the process of getting her on SNAP, WIC and Medicaid but these take time. 15-year-old mother with no family support no longer living in familial home requires baby items for her medically fragile child age 22 months. Items being requested are safety items for the home; plug covers, (1) baby gate, Magnetic cabinet locks that don't require nails, monkey locks, a highchair, plates and bowls for a toddler, clothing/pajamas 18mo-2t, diapers size 6, age-appropriate toys, books etc. She also needs cleaning supplies, bucket, mop, broom, kitchen/bathroom cleaning supplies. She does have crib and car seat provided by the department. If you need it for a child, she needs it. Any and all help we can provide for this mother is greatly appreciated. She is a child herself and is dealing with an extraordinary set of circumstances. She herself needs a support system.

A grandmother on my caseload had an awful scamming experience and someone stole $621 worth of food stamps off her food stamp card. She called to report this and they told her it's called skimming and that they are no longer able to replce any food stamps due to fraud or stolen benefits. The caregiver is out of work at this time and is not receiving any kinship benefits. She has reached out to some food banks, but is in need of asssitance with getting food for her and the grandchild and her biological child in the home. Any help would be appreacited. I wanted to see about requesting a e-gift card to HEB so we can get it her quicker for her to get food before the weekend.

This has been financially hard as she is the only provider for her and her children. Any assistance to getting this family a new dryer is much appreciated to lessen the financial burden.
