I’m reaching out on behalf of a single mother and her toddler who are currently being supported through the Maternal and Child Health Program at the Douglas County Health Department. This family recently experienced a medical emergency that required the toddler to be hospitalized unexpectedly and undergo surgery. Due to this crisis, the mother was unable to work for approximately 2 weeks and is now facing significant financial hardship. We are reaching out to request gift cards for food and gas to help relieve some of the immediate burden she is facing. Any support you can provide would go a long way in helping this family stabilize during a very difficult time. This family is in need of a gift to help with either groceries or clothes for the summer. The children have recently been through something very tragic and any support would be helpful for the caregivers.

Child has been placed with her brother who is legally blind since last year. Child is wanting to spend time with friends but it is difficult for brother to do this given his disability. Brother willfully took on the role of being a caregiver for his sibling. Brother would like to get his sister's hair done as well as nails done with her friend and would appreciate a visa gift card to help fund this. Brother takes on sole financial responsibility and doesn't have extra money for things that child is wanting.

Single mother who recently became unemployed seeking assistance with birthday gift options for her daughter who turns 9yr later this month. She would like to provide a nice birthday for her child. Mom shared some ideas that her child enjoys: playing on roller skates (size 6.5/7yr big kid), baby dolls with accessories, make up, she loves Stitch and unicorn items, and stuffed animals. Child could use some new clothes (size 10/12). Any assistance would be appreciated.

Foster mom has anywhere between 3 and 5 teenagers in her home at any given time. She works will all of her placements on independent living skills to include helping them get jobs and extra curriculars. Currently she has a 13 year old and 16 year old girl that would really benefit from bikes. The 16 year old is currently walking about a mile each way for work and a bike would significantly help in maintain this job. Additionally, the 16 year old helps watch the 13 year old over school breaks so a bike for each girl would be used during this time. Their foster mom has paid for them to have a gym membership that is within biking distance but she is not always available to transport them. Thank you!

This youth was recently placed in a kinship home unexpectedly . The youth's clothing and shoes were disposed of by previous placement. The youth is in need of clothing and shoes. This youth is interested in Nike brand if possible for gift cards, as well as Walmart, Target, Kohls, or Visa Gift Cards. Any support is appreciated.

Single mom who recently became unemployed seeking assistance for a bicycle to use to get to work. She has fallen behind her car payments and reports her car will be repossessed. She hopes to obtain a bike that is "sturdy with good wheels" as she describes needing a bike to support a larger person. I will add a helmet would be useful to ensure safety.

Hello! I have a family that is struggling to make ends meet since they financially helped their extended family flee an unsafe and dangerous situation in Afghanistan to come to the US to live with them. The dad is driving for Door Dash to help supplement some income, but they are still struggling, as they are helping to feed an additional 2 children and 2 adults on top of their own 3 children. This family would really appreciate the help with a King Soopers card to be able to buy groceries. Thank you!

Hello, The family is requesting a visa gift card to fund summer programs for the children. There are three children in the home and $500 visa gift card will be able to fund all three children participating in local sporting clubs/events. Ultimately, the enrollment and participation in the activities will connect the children to positive peers supports outside of the home and overall improve their wellbeing.
