This request is for a young mom of two children, ages 5 years and 2 years. She just learned that she is pregnant and is most likely near the end of the first trimester. Mom and her children have allergies and frequent illnesses. The condition of this family's home appears to be affecting the family's health detrimentally. There have been several instances of leaking and flooding in the living room and the bedrooms in the past year which has damaged the carpet and caused mold to develop in the bedrooms and in the carpet. The maintenance dept at her apartment complex has addressed some of the leaking issues, but not the problem of the moldy carpet or the mold.

The family could benefit from a dehumidifier, an air purifier, and a vacuum with a HEPA filter to help remove the moisture and significantly reduce the amount of allergens in the home. Mom is not currently working outside the home and has no income of her own. She is supported with a small stipend by the children's father but does not have enough to pay for the items mentioned. If the family can do some mitigation on their own, it will improve the children's and mom's health and well-being while they wait for the carpet to be removed. I am certain that this will make a positive difference.

This 3 year old was diagnosed with autism at an early age, and mom has been doing everything she can to support him. He is participating in ABA therapy, and in his school's preschool special education classroom, but is still not able to verbally communicate. He has been kicking a lot when he gets overwhelmed, and therapist suggested a weighted blanket. CDSS is working with parents who have a high needs child and an infant. The family is in need a crib for safe sleep; they have a pack and play but the child is growing and needs a sturdy crib. Additionally, they are requesting a Wagon and/or a double stroller. Their daughter has Trisomy 21 that impacts her ability to ambulate along with many needs around her activities of daily living. Sibling is growing and the family needs a safe way to navigate in the hospital for appointments and when they are out in the community.

This soon to be mama of three helps make ends meet by watching other children in addition to her very busy and curious 2 year old and 7 year old. Mom would really benefit from having an infant seat with a handle so that she can have a hand free for her toddler when picking up big sister from school. Having an infant carrier like this one Go To Link will let Mom put the infant and seat on her forearm freeing up a hand to make sure the toddler does not wander.

This mom and her husband are facing an unplanned pregnancy. Father's job is ending in June, but he currently works nights. Mom is having a hard time getting comfortable. I have a client with a 4 month old who would benefit from a large playmat like this: Go To Link Their carpet flooded and molded so they had to have carpeting removed and faux wood put in. Their little guy is beginning to roll, and is often rolling off of his infant playmat right onto the hard flooring. Having a larger mat will give him a soft surface to roll and lay on.

This request is for a refugee family struggling with fertility for the last year and a half. Mother is taking fertility medication and has been advised by physicians to use ovulation kits to increase the chances of successful pregnancy timing, but the family is unable to afford kits. If possible, having enough kits for multiple cycles would be beneficial.

Two children are placed with paternal grandparents in Fluvanna County. Family is requesting assistance with pull ups and wipes.

An 18 yo female who is living in her own housing with her husband who is 24 years old. Their roommate moved out and took the refrigerator. Therefore, other than coolers, they have no way to keep their food cold. In need of a refrigerator, a used one will be accepted also. Thanking you in advance.

Immigrant Pashto speaking mother juggling a full family of 8 is in need of size 0 diapers, size 2 diapers, and sanitary pads. Also in need of infant formula Enfamil Neuropro (yellow can) Mom just gave birth to beautiful baby boy but is struggling financially since she is unable to work( she is only caregiver for medically fragile 1 year old). Any amount of these items will be greatly appreciated

A family of two adults and three children were recently homeless and have finally gotten themselves within stable housing. However, due to all of the new expenses, the children are in need of clothing. The family has requested sneakers for each of the children to use at school, as well as summer clothing. Clothing and shoe sizes are listed below:

Child #1 (Middle School student)- Size 14/Size M in clothing, 8.5 in shoes in Adult sizing Child #2 and 3 (Elementary School Twins)- Size M in shirts, one child is size 8 in pants/shorts, the other is size 10 or 12 in pants/shorts. One twin is size 5.5 in kids, while the other twin is size 6 in kids for shoes.

By providing clothing and shoes to these children, this would allow the family to focus on all of their new expenses! This family could benefit from having individuals in the community as a connection and support. Thank you so much for your help!

CDSS is working with a mother who has made great strides towards reunification! She has recently progressed to unsupervised visitation and is going to be able to spend a large amount of time with her child over Mother's Day weekend. She has had to cut her work hours due to the requirements placed on her, and could use assistance with diapers and wipes for her one-year-old daughter. She wears size four diapers. She could also use assistance with age-appropriate snacks as well. Thank you for your consideration in supporting this family in their reunification!
