A young girl and her family have recently relocated to Florida. During their time there, she connected with an adult male on Snapchat, who persuaded her to travel to Cincinnati, even covering the cost of her Greyhound ticket. When the child left home, her mother promptly filed a missing person report, and efforts to locate her have been ongoing. Fortunately, the child has been found in Cincinnati and is currently receiving care in a hospital while arrangements are made for her safe return home. The mother is diligently working full-time to provide for her daughters and maintain their home. An adult sister is ready and willing to fly to Cincinnati to bring her sister back, but the family is currently facing financial challenges that prevent them from affording the travel expenses.

DSS is looking to explore resources that can support this hardworking family. They have made incredible strides in transforming their home from a hoarding situation, showcasing their dedication and resilience. However, they are in need of essential items like clean beds and a gently sofa, as well as functional air conditioning units. With the heat rising, it’s crucial to address their comfort and well-being. Both adults are stepping into the workforce and are ready to collaborate with local churches to create a plan for support. This family needs help paying their $5000 rent bill. They will be evicted on July 10th if they do not contribute to the total. The mother I have been working with is just returning to her job after maternity leave. There are 4 kiddos who live in this apartment who would not have somewhere to live if they are evicted. Mother and her boyfriend are now working and will be able to handle the monthly rent once it is down to a manageable amount. Mother has reached out to other community organizations who do not have funding to help her family at this time. Thank you so much for considering this families needs.

Mom is attempting to get on a payment plan and needs half of the bill to be able to do so. Mom has 100 of that now but needs help with the other $209 to be able to get on the payment plan.

Jackson County Children's Division is seeking help in supplying a relative placement provider a gift card to either Target, Wal-Mart, or anywhere else that might allow her to purchase the child summer clothing. The child is currently in need of more leggings, athletic shorts, baggy t-shirts, and undergarments. The child has a lot of winter clothing, but not a lot of summer clothing to accommodate the KCMO heat. We as an agency would be more than grateful for any help that is offered by anyone, as any little bit can make a large difference! Seeking rental assistance in the amount of $500 is a crucial step to preserve his current placement, ensuring he has a stable and supportive environment that fosters his continued development. By working to secure this assistance, he is demonstrating responsibility and a proactive attitude toward his well-being, as well as his commitment to maintaining his housing stability. His efforts to thrive academically and maintain a positive living situation reflect his resilience and aspiration to build a brighter future.

This youth is trying to get their Birth certificate so they can begin their job they have lined up in the trades. He is working really hard and has everything else lined up but is needing help from his community so he can start his job. He struggled with being in and out of his parents house but is now putting together is life on his own as he ages out. This youth works so hard at making sure he has a better life then what was in his past. Thank you for your support as always.

Mother is currently staying at a long-term stay hotel where she has been harrassed and attacked at by other guests. She has been staying there after being kicked out of a shelter that was supposed to help her until she found more permanent housing and was allegedly robbed and manipulated by a service provider who took her money (which following a significant period of time was returned) and many of her items (which still have not been returned). However, Mother's section 8 voucher has been granted and she will be able to move into an apartment by the end of the month, but she needs to pay off her past due bills. This request is for assistance with her Evergy Bill. Helping her with these bills will finally let the family have a safe home.

👟🌞 Helping a Supermom of 7! Summer Support Needed

We’re hoping to rally some support around an incredible single foster mom who is currently caring for seven amazing kids—yes, seven! She’s doing an incredible job juggling everything on her own, but could really use a little extra help this summer.

Right now, she’s in need of:

🍼 A stroller that can hold a car seat—something that makes outings a little easier and more manageable with the littlest ones in tow. 👗 Summer clothes for her 16-year-old daughter, who wears a junior size 2-3 pants and size medium shirts. Light, breathable clothing for the season would be a huge blessing!

This mama is showing up with so much love and dedication every single day, and meeting these practical needs would go a long way in lightening her load and reminding her she’s not alone.
