Last year at Spero we had the privilege of welcoming a family from Afghanistan to Oklahoma. On June 13th, the family welcomed their first U.S.-born child. As the 5 siblings and family get into the adjust to having a sweet new daughter, they have found themselves in need of a baby swing. Diapers and wipes are also welcome if available!

This request is for a 16 year old boy in an unpaid kinship placement. Before the teenager was in their care, he had some behavioral issues, but since living in this loving and supportive home, he has been thriving and has not had any behavioral issues. He is on the football team and recently got a job to start saving up for a car. Because both of his foster parents work and he doesn't have a car yet, it would help the family greatly to have a bike so he can get around independently. Because the foster parents to not receive monthly payments, they are grateful for any support they can get from the community. This family would appreciate your support!

Maternal Grandmother of 3 granddaughters ages 3month, 3 years, and 6 years old. Maternal grandmother is a single mother, and her youngest child just graduated from High School and moving off to college. Maternal grandmother has worked very hard to get placement of her 3 granddaughters. Maternal grandmother has relocated, obtained a crib for 3-month-old, and a bunk bed for the 3-year-old and 6-year-old. However, Maternal grandmother cannot afford 2 twin mattresses for the bunk bed. She would be very appreciative with any help.

9-month-old child is placed in a non-relative kinship placement. Foster mother is the only financial support for the child other than receiving foster care payments. Foster mother and agency would appreciate help paying the family's gas bill through Oklahoma Natural Gas, as the family's budget is slim. Foster mother is going to be adopting the child later this year and this would help to preserve the placement and help foster mother allocate funds towards other needs. We have a family on the road to adoption of a sweet teen boy while raising 4 biological children of their own. The family recently moved into a new home to accommodate the whole family and ended up having a very rough start due to plumbing, inspections, and their truck breaking down. This household has endured some much hardships they were displaced not too long ago. Through determination and resilience, they managed to rebuild their lives, secure a new home, and finally regain stability. Just as they began to turn things around, their car unexpectedly broke down at a store, putting them at risk of losing their only means of transportation. The day they finally were able to find someone to tow the car off the store property it was impounded, adding another devastating obstacle to their recovery. Without the funds to retrieve their car from impound, this family faces devastating consequences. Their vehicle is not just transportation, it's their lifeline to work, a crucial source of supplemental income, and their means to afford rent and essential utilities. Losing it would jeopardize their stability and well-being. This small act of support could make all the difference, ensuring they don’t lose their vehicle and can continue moving forward. Any emergency assistance, no matter how small, would be an incredible relief in a time of great need.

We have a very loving Single mom that has 2 children of her own and has taken in a child and she is really having a tough month. Resource parent is only needing help with clothing for child placed. I'm reaching out on behalf of a single mother who was recently housed after experiencing homelessness due to domestic violence. She is now working hard to rebuild stability for herself and her two young children and has a full time job. She is in urgent need of assistance with a $242 deposit to secure daycare placement for her children. Access to daycare is essential for her to maintain employment and continue progressing toward long-term stability. The daycare needs this by Friday or they will give her spots up for her 2 kids.

Hello! Spero had the privilege two weeks ago of welcoming a family of 8 from Afghanistan. With 6 kids running around, they need a vacuum cleaner. Gently used is more than acceptable, and the family would be very grateful. Thank you!

I have a young bio parents’ mom (21) and dad (28) will be traveling on a a 3-hour trip one way) to visit their 7 months old twins who are in foster care. Dad is the only parent working currently. The parents plan to make this trip every two weeks. The parents have reliable transportation but need assistance in making the trip. The parents last saw their 7 months old twins on 05/027.

Due to the recent storms this family has damage to their home they own and their chimney. Due to the damage the chimney is leaking into the home. The quotes they got on fixing it are totaling $5,000. The main priority is the chimney due to it having water damage to the inside of the home. The child placed in the home is an infant and is starting to crawl/ move around. The chimney is located in the middle of their Livingroom. The chimney repair will cost $1,500.
