Youth is growing rapidly out of his current wardrobe and caregiver, a non-related extended family member, has limited resources and cannot afford to purchase new clothes for youth at this time. Mother is a devoted, mother of seven children, ages 5-18. The case came to the attention of DCFS due to physical abuse, general neglect and caretaker incapacity. Ms. Washington works tirelessly to rebuild her life and reunify with her children who are not currently in her care. She is overcoming financial hardships while staying committed to her sobriety. She diligently works to complete Court ordered programs. In addition to working temporary and odd jobs to make ends meet to maintain stable residence in prearrange of reunifying with her children. As part of her progress, her older children now have unsupervised visits, but the home lacks essential furniture to sit and sleep comfortably. This is an urgent need as the Court reported that the children are fast tracked to return to mother's care on 05/07/25. This request will ensure children's safety as the residence will be clean and furnished with beds so they won't have to sleep on the floor. This request will strengthen parental capacity by providing emotional and physical care. This request will lessen her stressors and free up some of her time to spend with her children ultimately enhance the potential for permanency. Any help, big or small, will bring her one step closer to providing a stable and loving home for her children. If you can contribute in any way, it would mean the world to this mother and her family. This family of four includes mom and 3 children (14, 9, 5). Family came to the attention of DCFS due to physical/emotional abuse from father. Mother has relocated herself and the children away from father. As a result, mother is experiencing financial hardship without father's assistance. Family lives in a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom home and they are in need of a sofa bed that seats three people. A sofa bed will provide a more comfortable living and sleeping space for the entire family, thereby increasing the safety and general well-being of the children and reducing stress and anxiety for mother allowing her to focus more on her family and reallocate her already limited resources to other needs for her children.

I am writing to request support on behalf of Mother, who is currently involved with our agency and actively working toward reunification with her children. Mother has successfully completed all court-ordered services and continues to demonstrate commitment to her personal growth and family well-being by regularly attending outpatient services.

Mother has recently secured stable housing and moved into her new apartment. As she works to rebuild a safe and nurturing environment for her family, she is in need of basic household essentials to help her establish a functional and supportive home setting for herself and her children.

The referred family is requesting assistance obtaining twin size bed for their child. The resource parent’s granddaughter is a 15-year-old with an intellectual disability. The resource parents care for her granddaughter on a permanent basis and is in the process of adopting her. The resource parent is attentive to her granddaughters needs and expresses her joy in caring for her. The resource parent is on a limited income and is an urgent need of a twin size bed for her granddaughter. The resource parent resides in a studio apartment with her granddaughter and is kindly request these items to continue proving a comfortable and adequate home environment. The family would appreciate any help and want to explore all the options to make the child as comfortable as possible at home.

To assist the family in need of keeping the home organized and walkways clear in case of emergencies. Mother is a single mother caring for 2 minor children (one of which has autism) and two adult siblings also live in the home (one of which is also autistic). Parties share a two-bedroom home and although mother is able to provide for basic necessities, she does not have funds for dressers, so laundry currently has to be stored in piles on the ground. It is also difficult to maintain the cleanliness of the clothes when being stored on the floor. This is a safety concern as it limits walkway space and there are several people who need to get around including two people with delays.

I am writing to advocate on behalf of my client, who is in urgent need of steel-toed boots (women's size 10), 2 work pants size 6/8 size medium, and work gloves (large) in order to begin her newly secured warehouse job with expected start date of 7/08/2025. Currently, her available funds have gone to paying her rent for the month of July. These items are essential for meeting the safety and dress code requirements of her employer. My client is a single mother who is determined to maintain stable employment to provide for herself and her young son. Access to this job will offer financial stability and support her long-term goal of self-sufficiency. Without the required work gear, she risks losing this opportunity, which would negatively impact her progress and well-being.I strongly support her request for assistance with these items and urge any available resources or funding to be made accessible to help remove this barrier to employment. Reportedly, mother and father are currently experiencing financial hardships, and are in need of three twin sized beds or one bunkbed and one twin for the children, ages 13,10 and 8. Neither father nor mother are currently working, and the family cannot allocate funds towards a suitable bed for the children at the moment. The family is also in need of dressers for the children as their current dressers are falling apart.

Asking for monetary support to assist mother in paying a portion of her rent to prevent an eviction notice. This single mother fled a domestic violence situation, and has no family support. Mother has graduated from her domestic violence shelter and moved into an apartment with her children. Mother attends to the children full time. One of the children is autistic bringing additional responsibilities to mother. Mother is currently receiving a portion of her rent paid by Department of Children and Family Services. Support for this mother is greatly appreciated.

Client is a single parent of 4 minor children transitioning into permanent housing on 7/4/2025. Family has been homeless "couch surfing" for more than 2 years and recently was approved for an apartment. During their period of homelessness, family had to give up the majority of their belongings to move in temporarily in a friends small bedroom. Client is finally able to provide a stable living situation for her and children and is need of furniture: dressers, mattress, dining table and chairs, sofa or living room seating, basic kitchen supplies and cookware. Access to these items will not only improve the family's comfort and well-being but will also support their continued success in maintaining stable housing. Furniture can play a critical role in restoring a sense of normalcy, security, and dignity for individuals rebuilding after homelessness or housing insecurity.
