First Baptist Church Hillsville

We have a single mom in need of any help possible. They are being evicted from their home and have found a new place to move, but there is quite a bit of money needed up front. This is a larger request, but any help would be appreciated to secure this new place for the family. Half of the request is for the deposit, and the other half is for the first month's rent. Any and all help is so appreciated!

This family of five has fallen behind on bills, and could use the help of our community to keep their power on. Dad works, but employer has been cutting back on hours, and this has left the family struggling to pay their bills. Family is on payment plan with AEP and the amount to get them caught up is $617. Power will be turned off on 4/22/25. Dad is sole earner, as Mom stays home and homeschools their three kids.

A family located in the Woodlawn area of the county is in need of a sensory vest for their child. This vest helps the child to regulate and creates a feeling of safety, enabling the child to calm down.

The Department is working with a family who is in need of a couch, love seat and a vacuum due to the poor condition of their current furniture. The Family has limited finances to purchase new furniture and vacuum. Thank you for any help you may able to provide.

The Department is working with a new mom who is currently unable to work and is in need of a few nursing night gowns and nursing bras.

Nursing night gown size L, nursing bra 38 C.  The family could also use a new queen size mattress.

The department is working with a family in the Allisonia area. There are two children on the case who have been parentally placed with their great grandmother. The great grandmother is in need of assistance purchasing the children some clothes. The female is in 5T clothes and the male is in 3T clothes.

The department is working with a family in the Cana area. The family has two children who have been parentally placed with a family member. The placement is in need of financial assistance with summer care.

The department is currently working with a family in the Austinville area who could use assistance with clothing. The family has a 17 year old female who is in need of shirts and pants. The female is in need of size 3x shirts and a size 24 pants.

We are in need of help for a family which requires a dumpster delivered to the residence. The family needs to work on the cleanliness of the inside and outside of the home due it being consider a hazardous and an unsafe environment for children. If this need is meet for the family, it would help assist in the process of reuniting the children back together with their mother once all the clutter and dangerous objects that are currently a concern are removed.

The department is working with a family in the Hillsville area. The parents have recently filed for separation. The father is in need of assistance with groceries as he is now living alone and supporting himself off of his income.

Carroll County DSS is currently working with a father and daughter. The father is a single parent and is the only source of income within the home. Recently, the father has been out of work, resulting in a financial hardship. The father is in the process of seeking other employment due to not having enough work through his current employer. In the meantime, all finances will need to go towards bills within the home. The child's bedroom door broke, and for some time the child has only had a curtain up. Being a teenager, the child is requesting privacy, by having a door on her bedroom. The door measurements are 32in x 80 in. There is no specific color request by the family to meet this need. If this need is met through care portal, it will allow the father to put money towards other needs of the home.
