Child has been having difficulty in school. The current placement is working with the schools, health providers and speech therapist to assist the child in establishing a healthy learning environment. These have been recommended by the speech therapist that may help the child by better distinguish letters and numbers while completing his school work. The child has some delays in his motor skills and struggles to do things like button his shirt, pants, etc. which the Busy Board will help with. Please assist the current placement in gathering these tools to help remove more barriers to this child learning and having a positive school experience. I have a mother with two children who are fleeing DV/SA. They are finally able to move forward with housing and are moving into their own place in the next few days and are in need of a twin bed and a full size bed and bedding for both.

Have a high school student that is a returning student to the district. Dad is a single dad who is currently living with his adopted daughter and her husband. Dad and son moved into a house that has no running water. Dad reported to have water in the home a hot water heater is needed as theirs busted. Child is not able to come to school with clean clothes or shower. We have made it so student can shower at school and was given clean clothes and will be given clothes daily. Family is grateful for help. The family is also struggling with having food at home until the food stamps come in at the end of the month. Worry is student will get made fun of as his hygiene was bad. It sounds like the family is minimal and just trying to get by. Child is 17 or close to it.

This is a long time foster/adoptive family that have previous adopted four. Now this family has finally had their first biological child and they had to be life-flighted to NICU. The family needs much support as they are encountering many unexpected expenses such as hotel rooms (since the Ronald McDonald house is full), gas, and will be dealing with medical expenses in the future. Support for fuel is being requested, as well as any help with food and other items.

I work with a nearly blind consumer who recently gave birth and is also raising an 18-month-old toddler and a 10-year-old daughter. She was an LPN before losing her vision and is an incredible mother. The family is in need of size 8 diapers or pull-ups for the toddler, as well as a portable toilet training seat with handles that can be easily removed for use outside the home. The newborn has enough diapers for now thanks to donations from out-of-state family. They are also in need of a toddler mattress for a bed frame she was able to get at a low cost. Though they’ve received many toys as donations, they lack toy storage or shelving, so the toys are still in bags, and if they get out of the bags it creates a fall hazard. Safe storage options like a toy box, shelves, dressers, or plastic drawer units would be very helpful in reducing risks, especially since she’s often carrying a child. I’ve helped set up baby gates to create a safe toddler area and added a pack-and-play in the living room for the newborn. However, their living room TV sits on an old metal stand with sharp corners and missing glass shelves, making it both a safety hazard and a waste of space. Any support—partial or full—would mean a great deal to this amazing family.

Consumer was just informed from her Dept. Of Rehabilitation case manager that her double stroller she just received is not safe to use. They advised she needs a wagon to be able to use one hand to pull it and the other hand hold her cane so she can walk safer. She needs a wagon that can hold her 18 month old and her newborn that is about 1 month old now. If anyone can help her with a wagon so she can safely take her kids out it would be so helpful.

We are currently working with an expecting mother and her 5 year old son. The mother’s case was recently closed with DHS. We have been working with the family for 5 months and will also close this month. The family has been very cooperative and engaged with all services. The mother needs a dresser for her son. During this time, the family has been working to improve the stability and environment of their home. The family is motivated to continue improving their environment and maintaining their home. Currently, the family is in need of a twin-size mattress and bedframe. They also need a full-size bedframe [already have mattress and box springs]. Foster parents need a bunk bed for two foster children in their home. The children are two sibling girls. This item will assist the foster family in providing the girls with adequate bedding and space in their bedroom. Thank you!
