A family in the Tunnelton, WV area needs some assistance with repairing the floor and cleaning their home. The family has a baby who is around 10 months old and will be crawling and walking soon. The family has a ply wood floor and it has been ruined by their dogs in the home. The family lives in a single wide trailer. The family could use a cleaning company in order to help them maintain the home and keep the child safe and in the home at this time. The family could use these repairs in order to strengthen their family.

Who: Maternal grandmother whom has recently been granted temporary custody for her 2 grandchildren. Needs: Food gift card, gas gift card, and Walmart gift card. She also needs a double stroller for the 2 children.

Who: 3 y/o female Needs: Size 3T-4T pull-ups, Baby Wipes, 4T life jacket

Who: 1 y/o female Needs: Size 5/6 Diapers, Baby Wipes, 2T life jacket

Who: Both the 3 y/o and 1 y/o children are needing a swing set.

The needs will give the grandmother some help on the front end so the children and her can have a smooth transition. This was unexpected and by the looks of the case, she will end up with full custody. The children love the water and playing outdoors. This would just bring some normalcy to the home while caseworker, and attorneys are visiting multiple times. The food and gas cards are self-explanatory, but the Walmart gift card is to buy them clothes or necessities that they need. After this, the family should be on their way to a much easier path.

The family has been living in a travel trailer and has the opportunity to move into a larger home. The family has never had a home larger than a small travel trailer. The family needs two end tables for the living room, two dressers, two night stands, washer and dryer electric, vacuum, tv console, weed eater, 1 twin bunk bed and mattress with bedding for little girls, one single twin bed with mattress with bedding for little boy, shower curtain, liner and bath mats for kids' bathroom, sofa or sectional for the living area. This would ease the financial burden for this single dad of three raising the children on his own. He does work but does not currently have the money to furnish the home.

A father is in need of help!

Due to numerous reasons, a family recently was forced to separate. The father has left the household and is starting his life over from scratch! In order to have visitation with his daughter, he is in need of acquiring basic household items to ensure a safe visit. Any help assisting him in obtaining a twin bed with bedding for her to sleep on, dresser for her clothing, and household items for him to prepare and serve food on. He is also requesting a table and chair set, futon and a window AC unit to help make his house ready for visits.

A student here transferred to us from another state after his mother passed away from cancer. Within a year or a little more, his father was found deceased in March and has already been cremated. He is living with his grandparents. They are disabled and financially do not have the means to pay the cremation cost. Due to the inability to pay the cremation fee, the father's remains have remained in a box at the funeral home. They have deposited $400 against the overall cost of $2,500. Grandmother has also shared they were looking for an urn for his remains.

A family with two children recently took in two dogs from their sister. The dogs almost had their sister evicted from her apartment, and now they are faced a similar dilemma. If they don't find a home for the dogs, they could be evicted. The family is looking for a home for the two dogs. They searched rescue sites and no kill shelters but hasn't received any help or support. Please help support this family by either taking in the dogs or by spreading the word.

I've been walking alongside an incredible single mom of 5 kids for about a year and half. She successfully completed a program at Leah's Hope (who helps women with children at risk of homelessness.) She has made many sacrifices and exhausted all of her resources to provide for her kids. She's maintaining employment and making progress in her life, but recently, her sister was incarcerated, so she took in her two nephews so they wouldn't have to go into the foster care system. The cost of supporting two additional children has caused a strain on her finances and she has fallen behind on her car payment. Her car is at risk of being repossessed if she does not make a payment of $413. If her car gets repossessed, she would not have transportation to and from work, so she would also be at risk of losing her job. Any help for this amazing mom would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! Church, we have an opportunity to come alongside a single mom who is a member at Wildwood & help support her as she cares for the older bio siblings (brothers ages 9 & 12) of her adopted son. The brothers are still in foster care and need care for a period of 10 days in July. To say yes, the single mom needs childcare for the boys while she is at work. There are openings at a local day camp for both boys. The cost for 7 days of camp for both boys is $700. Please keep this family in your prayers - pray specifically for the time the three brothers will have together. One of our very own families, who faithfully serves every weekend, is currently facing a difficult season. They are in need of support with rent and groceries this month to get back on track and not fall behind.

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to serve two families in our community. While our assistance was very much appreciated, it does not alleviate the on-going need for these families. Both families have young children who are home during the summer months. To ensure that they have access to hot meals during the summer while they are out of school, Heartland is initiating a request to provide food gift cards to each family throughout the duration of the summer.
