A compassionate member of the community has stepped up to provide respite care for a sibling group of four brothers. This generous act will allow their foster parent to receive much-needed rest and support. In order to make this possible, she needs 3 beds (twin beds with mattresses and bedding). These boys will be able to stay together in a safe, loving environment while their caregiver recharges. Let’s rally around this amazing volunteer and help make this possible!

A wonderful couple in our community has graciously agreed to provide respite care for a 4-year-old boy while his foster parent is away later this month. They are eager to help and open their home, but they need a few basic items to make it possible (a toddler bed, bedding, and a baby gate). This couple is stepping up to care for a vulnerable child and offer much-needed support to a foster family. Maybe we can come together to meet this need and show them they’re not doing this alone.

A grandmother is preparing to take in her two young grandchildren, ages 3 and 6, starting next week. This will be an indefinite placement, and while she is stepping up out of love and commitment, she currently does not have beds for the children. This is not a formal placement through the foster care system—it’s family caring for family. Your support will help ensure these children have a safe, comfortable place to sleep as they transition into this new home.

This mother and her 8-year-old child just recently moved into their low-income housing in Marion County. Due to the recent move and low income, mom is still in need of some furniture for her residence. The mother graciously requests a small couch (3-seater), due to the small living room space. In addition, the daughter needs a dresser, and the mother needs her own dresser for their bedrooms.

This maternal grandmother does not have a bed or funding for a bed for the child to sleep on. This child is a 6-year-old girl, and she is currently sleeping on a thick pallet cushion on the floor in her bedroom. She needs your help with a twin bed frame and twin mattress.

This request is to maintain placement and keep the children together, as to maintain licensing the children will need beds. The children have placement with their brother. They currently have beds on the floor but will not pass level licensing without beds. This caregiver needs your help with one bunk bed frame, two twin mattresses and bedding for girls ages 8 and 6. They also need a twin bed frame and twin mattress and bedding for the 5-year-old little boy.

A homeless single mother of a 4-year-old son with a disability has an opportunity to access shelter and housing resources in Orlando, but needs immediate assistance to make this life-changing transition possible. Most critically, she needs $110 for gas to travel to Orlando, return to Marion County to collect her son, and drive back to Orlando where shelter awaits.

Beyond transportation, this family needs basic necessities to survive. The mother requires size small tops, size medium pants and shorts (or size 6), along with socks and underwear. Since she has no access to refrigeration, she also needs non-perishable, microwave-ready meals such as soup and other items that can be easily heated.

Her 4-year-old son needs clothing in sizes 5T to 7T for bottoms and 5T to 6T for tops, size 12 socks, and pull-up diapers in size 5T to 6T. These basic items will help ensure his comfort and dignity during this difficult transition.

This assistance will enable this family to reach Orlando's expanded shelter and housing resources, providing them with stability and hope during a critical time. Caring for a child with a disability while homeless presents additional challenges that make accessing proper shelter and services even more urgent. Every contribution brings this family one step closer to safety and a fresh start. Your support is urgently needed and will make an immediate difference in the lives of a mother fighting to protect her child.

The grandmother has taken custody of her three grand babies. One boy age 1 and two girls ages 3 & 4. The two older children (ages three and four) sleep on two air mattresses that do not hold air very well. Helping this grandmother with beds will help save this placement and keep the siblings together. She also needs a narrow cloth/cube design dresser, but the room is very small.

Grandma has taken a short leave of absence from work to care for the children. Your assistance with beds would greatly be appreciated.

The grandparents have taken their grandchildren into care and only have two bedrooms. The children are sharing a bed, at this time. The family has applied for Level One Licensing but the children need separate beds to pass the home study. The bedroom is small but would accommodate a bunk bed. They need your help with a bunk bed frame, 2 twin mattresses and bedding for the 8-year-old little girl and 4-year-old little boy.

Veteran Assistance Request – A/C Unit

A veteran residing in Florida is currently without air conditioning and is working on getting the central A/C system repaired. In the meantime, she is requesting a window A/C unit to provide temporary relief from the heat. The veteran lives with her son, who is also at home with her.

Given the current weather conditions in Florida and the health and safety concerns associated with extreme heat, any assistance in providing a temporary cooling solution would be greatly appreciated.

Recently these 3 siblings (12, 10, & 7-year-old males) were placed in the care of a relative. Presently, the relative placement has one full-sized bed and were able to secure a twin bunk bed frame, but are still in need of 2 twin mattresses, along with twin bedding / sheets. This will benefit the children in providing safe and appropriate sleep, while assisting the relatives with maintaining a stable placement.

The relative caregivers are both disabled with fixed income and are unable to afford to buy their nephew a bed. Child’s current twin bed is a mattress set only, laying on the floor, and is very worn out. They live in a singlewide mobile home that is being renovated but ran out of funds to complete the renovation due to their very serious health issues. They have had the child in their care for approximately 6 years. These caregivers appreciate any help with getting a twin bed frame and mattress for their 17-year-old male nephew.
