Parents struggle with getting transportation to and from their daughter's medical appointments. Their daughter has a lot of medical issues, which cause her to need numerous medical appointments a month. The mother, who is approximately 6 months pregnant, takes the bus and walks a great distance to get from the bus stops to her daughter's appointments. Any amount given towards this family will help. It would greatly strengthen the bond with the family as they work toward reunification and take some stress off mom, who is not only fighting for her baby back, but also carrying another life!

We have a 20-year-old girl who is attempting to age out of care, but is having trouble getting on her feet. She had car issues with her first car, and was able to save up and buy another car just a few months ago. She is now having issues with her current car, which is a 2004 Chevy Cavalier. She recently started work at Panda Express, but is only making $16 an hour. She is working part-time hours as she was also working part-time with a landscaping business on weekends. Panda Express is still hiring and therefore, hasn't been able to increase her hours. Due to the issues she is having with her car's acceleration, she has not been able to resume work with the landscaping business and is missing out on money. Her job at Panda Express is 18 minutes away from her placement, which has forced her to spend a good portion of her income on Ubering to and from work. She is also planning to attend the Phlebotomy program at KCKCC this fall and will therefore need reliable transportation for that. She previously took her car to Auto Zone and had diagnostics run. She purchased a new starter and spent over $200, but is still having issues that she can't currently afford to assess and fix. Any support would be appreciated, whether that is financial or someone who can help assess and diagnose the problem(s) with her car.

We have a grandmother who agreed to move into her daughter's home to prevent 4 children from being removed from the home. Grandma is doing everything she can to maintain 4 young children in her home but this has caused her to lose her form of employment. The home was unclean when Grandma moved into the home but due to lack of funds and having her hands full, she is struggling to get the home back to the cleanliness it was prior to now. We are looking for cleaning supplies for Grandma or a cleaning company willing to to go to the home to assist the family so they can keep their home and children happy, healthy, and clean.

The child is a 16-month-old who has been receiving their food/nutrition through a feeding tube. The child was recently approved to switch to receiving food by mouth. Therefore, the family is in need of a highchair to help assist during feeding times.

Client has a severely autistic child who is now 5 years of age plus a 2 year old. Client has worked off and on and she had been working from September until March and then had to quit because of the 5year old behavior due to his autism. She recently moved because she thought it would be better if she was closer to her mother and sister. Her mother is who she can count on for helping her with the kids. FOB has not been a resource and her mother helps her when she can financially and always emotionally and physically her mother helps her with childcare, respite care etc. Client is requesting help with hygiene products (deodorant, lotion, female hygiene products), dish soap, Scott towels, toilet paper, pull ups/diapers and wipes for the 5 year old as he is not capable of being potty trained, laundry products and cleaning supplies for her home.

A grandmother has recently taken in 5 children into her home ranging from 1 to 7-years-old. 4 of these children already have beds, however, the youngest is 1-year-old and needs a crib!

Along with this, more kids means more clothes! Placement is looking for a tall dresser to help store the children's clothes. Please help this home get a crib and a dresser!

An 8 year girl just entered foster care and will be having a birthday this week. This child came to the foster home with only the clothes on her back. The foster placement would like to purchase some new clothing items and a few toys to provide a meaningful birthday for this child as they have been separated from their family. Please consider donating a gift card so they can purchase items for her birthday.

We have a mom of 3 in our program who was admitted to the hospital and is worried about providing her kids with school supplies for the year. They need thins like school pants, backpacks, folders, notebooks, etc. We are requesting a gift card to walmart to help this family get what they need. The kids go to Kauffman and are in grades from 7th-11th. If this request is met it will go towards helping this mom provide new school clothes and gear/supplies for her kids as they enter this next year of high school, which should otherwise be an exciting time for them. A grandmother is caring for three of her grandchildren who are involved in the foster care system. One of the children would like to go see the production of WIZ this week at the Music Hall in KC. The family simply does not have extra funds for these sorts of experiences.

As she is a child, there would be a need for at least two tickets. The ticket cost would run around $100-180 total depending upon the seats. Tickets are selling quickly, and the show is later this week.

I have a mom who just started her trial home visit and daycare won’t start till later in the month. Because daycare won’t start Monday, this mom is having to miss work and her job has really been understanding but she can’t miss 11 days of work. She is needing help with self pay until state pay kicks in.

Mother of a medically complex child is struggling to afford her rent at this time; her daughter was inpatient at the hospital for 5 weeks due to severe illness. Mother was unable to work consistently as she was needed at bedside for her daughter. Mother is working full time trying to afford their rental payment but has fallen behind on payments. Mother's bills are adding up as she tries to support her children. Any amount would help this family during this hardship!

This family is needing assistance with rent/deposit for a new home due to the family needing more space for a child they are taking as kinship placement after a life altering accident. The child needs more space for the medical equipment along with the ability for them to work with nursing, physical, and occupational therapist in the home. Assisting with the rent/deposit will allow the family to move and settle in to their new home, and allow the child to discharge from the hospital after being admitted for over 6 months. Any assistance is appreciated.
