Family with 5 children are needing to start over due to their home and all contents being part of a fire. They are needing just about everything to start their lives over. They are hoping to get into a new place by this weekend, if not within 24 hours. Someone is helping them with beds and clothing, but they are needing the community's help for the following supplies.

This request will help to keep two boys in the care of their Uncle / kinship placement. The boys need more permanent bed frames / mattresses for their rooms. Their Uncle does his best to make his home feel like their home and would love to provide a better bed option for both boys. Uncle is also struggling with transportation because of a tire that needs to be replaced. He is struggling to finish the process of getting licensed due to the busted tire. This request for beds and tire repair would greatly help support this Uncle and this placement.

A mother with two young children in foster-care is actively leaving a domestic violence situation today. This mother left the home with nothing but the clothes on her back. Please consider donating a gift card for Walmart to this mother. She needs clothing items, hygiene items and other necessary items. This is an critical need.

As a Children's Division worker, I have a new kinship placement with two minor children and in need of safety items to include a fire extinguisher, medical lock box, and a carbon monoxide detector for the home. These are required safety items for our Resource and Home Inspection for licensing of this placement home. The placement parents have guardianship of four additional children in the home under the age of 18 that would also benefit to secure extra safety of this home.

A person is in the process of adopting a young boy who has gone through a lot and now has many medical needs. The person adopting him stays at home with him to provide the love, care, and attention he needs and deserves. The family is hoping to increase the security of the home due to some threats made and would like to install some security cameras. If there is someone who is able to donate a camera or two or a whole camera system, that would be so helpful in increasing the family's peace of mind. Grandmother with guardianship of her granddaughter has recently become homeless and is in desperate need of a storage shed to store their belongings. The two have a safe place to stay at this time but are in fear of losing the only personal belongings and furniture they have as they cannot take all of it with them. Getting a storage shed would greatly help this family and prevent them from having even more hardship to overcome when they establish their own housing.

A single mother of two has recently exited a domestic violence situation, but the former partner continues to pose challenges for her and her children. Currently, she lacks both a cell phone and employment, which severely limits her ability to contact emergency services in the event of a crisis. Although she has applied for various jobs and assistance programs, the absence of a phone prevents potential employers and service providers from reaching her.

To ensure her family's safety and maintain vital communication with support resources, she urgently requires assistance in covering her phone bill. This would help her secure a means to call for help in emergencies and stay connected with necessary services.

The Jackson County Children's Division Prevention team has been working with an apartment complex on safety concerns around their facilities. We have had numerous talks with management and unfortunately the type of safety concerns were having are in the units only with children. The complex can only do so much and have agreed to work with us to help solve the concerns from both us and KCPD. The apt complex has had numerous police reports due to children being unmonitored at unsafe age. The children have been able to leave the apt building, via window, front door, or sliding glass doors. The locks that the apt complex have are old and the actual door to get into the building is self-open. We had event at the apartment complex where we were able to speak with close to 75 families about these safety concerns there having. Some of them the doors just do not lock, or they do not have the funds to get the proper child safety locks, some of them their children will leave while parents are sleeping and there's no lock on the door that is high enough away off the ground where a child cannot reach it. We are hoping for about 50 window locks, eSynic Durable 10 Pack Window Restrictors Locks Easy to Install Window Restrictor Child Safety Window Lock with Screws Keys Limiting Opened Distance is the name of them on amazon. It is about $35 for 10 window locks.

Sliding glass door locks anywhere from 10-20 of these would be beneficially.

This is a great opportunity for our community to come together and help a whole apartment complex with some baby proofing items they are in need of 50 lever locks and 5 sliding glass door locks to help keep their kids safe as the current locks do not work on the new doors that the apartment put in and these families could use your help. This would serve 76 children and over 20 families this would be a huge help for this community. These lever locks would help prevent accidents and give parents peace of mind. The children cannot live in the home of their grandmother who can take them. They were in a single parent home and Mom died, they are staying with an 84-year-old great-grandmother in a very small home and need to get into grandmas. She needs a dumpster urgently so that she can clean out her 2-bedroom home to accommodate the kids. She has too many boxes, bins and clutter to have them live with her comfortably or safely and there are 3 kids, so it really needs to be able to have all the rooms used. PLEASE HELP!! Great Grandmother cannot keep them. Would be great if this dumpster could get delivered on MONDAY so that they can get the house cleaned out by Friday and the kids can get into the home. Great Grandmother is hanging on, but barely!! A dumpster that is going to be delivered is being arranged, we are desperate to keep the kids with their grandma they have had so much tragedy and loss.

baby was born at 23 weeks in September. Mother is recovering from substance abuse. Mother is currently in jail, she is either going to in patient rehab or to prison. Before mom went to jail she was working with children's division and doing well. The baby is staying with a family friend and they are looking to get guardianship to prevent the baby from coming into state custody. The family needs are size 2 diapers and formula. Dad is having trouble finding a job as a felon. The mother left the baby and he is trying to remain connected with the baby. He needs and wants to visit everyday but not having money for gas is making it hard for him to visit. He wants to keep a strong bond with his daughter. He is needing gas cards to help him go see his daughter more.
