A mom we are serving has five children and is pregnant with her sixth child. She home schools her children and has very little help from family or friends. Her children are age 9, 3, twins 2 yrs old and 11 months. She is in need of diapers, wipes, two dressers, two rugs and a toddler bed. She also has a utility bill that needs to be paid by 5/17 or the power will be turned off. This mom is unable to work due to the pregnancy and lack of resources to get her children to daycare. Providing items for this family will help strengthen the family system while mom is still pregnant and waiting for baby's arrival.

A single mother, working full-time serving expecting mother's, is in need of some household cleaning supplies and fresh produce to help ensure a healthy and safe environment for her two babies at home. In addition to working and serving mom's to-be full-time, she also attends parent cafes to expand her knowledge and skills as a parent! This mother is so committed to caring not only for her own children, but also to families all over the community. She is simply asking for a few grocery items to help make sure her baby's bellies are full and that they have a clean environment to grow up in!

Mother is looking for:

• Cleaning items for household (dish soap, toilet bowl cleaner, disinfectant spray, window cleaner, air freshener)
• Grocery items (specifically fresh produce)

A foster mother is in need of emergency aid, as she is trying to care for two babies on her own. She has tried to use financial assistance from Salvation Army with no luck. She has also submitted an application for PRC and has an interview for that process next week. However, she has been given an eviction notice and has no where to go to keep her babies safe and care for them until then. Upon first working with this mother in our search for resources, the first thing she wanted to show me was a picture of her babies. They are her whole world and they are counting on her.

This request is for a car seat for a child that is 40-60 pounds to support a kinship placement. The grandmother of this child has just recently taken over the sole care of her grandson and granddaughter (newborn). Her grandson has autism and she has already raised money to pay for the registration fee into his special needs day program. She raised $650 by making dinner plates for people to buy out of her own home. Her grandkids health and safety means everything to her and she is working so hard to maintain that. She is also working toward her license to be an in-home childcare provider to not only be more equipped to care for her grandchildren but to also be able to provide care for other children in her community. Despite being a cancer survivor and faced with losing her job and other financial hardships, this one woman has remained so positive and so full of light for the little ones she cares so much about.

Specific Needs:

• One car seat for a child weighing 40-60 pounds
• Food/Groceries to help them stay afloat as they face this family transition

One of the barriers our families often face is not being able to afford to put their students into school sports due to the cost associated. This student has expressed to mom that he wants to play football and attend football camp this summer and Mom really wants to support him in this decision but cannot financially. This student has made great strides academically this year and wants to try something new. We are looking for someone willing to help cover the cost of camp ($30) and provide a pair of cleats so he can attend football camp this summer. Thank you!

A mother of two children that works full time has gotten behind on rental assistance. She owes $380, and if not paid, there will be a $100 late fee as of tomorrow May 6th. The mother got behind due to having medical concerns in January that are still getting figured out. She has had to go to several doctors appointments and is still trying to get to the bottom of the concerns. Missing work has lead to getting behind on rent. Please consider helping to pay, so that the family can continue to have stable housing while the mother navigates these uncertain times.

A mother, her partner, and young son recently tried to move into an apartment in Cleveland. However, upon arrival, their unit was unlocked and unlivable with broken glass and exposed wires everywhere. They were financially drained from their travels and lost even more money having to travel back to Cincinnati. They currently cannot find care for their son, as he is nonverbal, has frequent meltdowns, and often tries to run out of the house and into the street. Mom cannot seem to find anywhere that can diagnose him officially to put him in specialized care so they feel their only way to care for him at this time is to put him in foster care while both mom and her partner work to save money to bring him back into their home. They currently have no working washer and dryer in the house and are working to obtain newer clothes to hold them over until they are able to receive free laundromat services in their area from Laundry Love Cincinnati. They are behind on laundry in general after their journey to and from Cleveland.

This family could use some gently used or newer clothing with sizing as follows:

This mother of 4 is working to stay on top of bills, however has gotten behind on her electric bill. She works full time, but still struggles to make enough to pay all of her necesities on time, due to the high cost of living. Her electric bill is due tomorrow and needs $320 in order to pay on time. If not paid, the bill will significantly go up (and will also take her off of her PIPP payment plan) which could lead to it being disconnected in the near future. Thank you for considering!

An 18 year old student who is about to graduate is in dire need of school fees being paid. This student has made it very far, all while working, he is set to graduate and will still be able to walk regardless, but will not recieve transcripts if the high fee is not paid. This student owes $450 in school fees which unforutanately, the fees are some that cannot be waived by the school. While this is a lot of money.. if togethe,r the community is willing to donate some money towards these fees, it could make such a huge difference for his future. Thank you so much for considering!

These are foster parents who have fallen on difficult times and need some support paying a bill. This will help alleviate stress for the family and allow them to get back on track with their bills.

A close-knit family, consisting of a 79-year-old grandmother, her 29-year-old granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren (ages 4 and 5), reached out to OhioKAN for assistance in obtaining a living room furniture set and two $100 Amazon gift cards that will cover clothing/hard goods for the children. The grandmother has been the kinship caregiver for all three grandchildren throughout their lives and formally adopted the younger two in 2022. Shortly after the adoption, she was diagnosed with a chronic illness, leading the 29-year-old granddaughter to take on the role of primary caregiver for the household.

However, last month the granddaughter underwent back surgery, which has temporarily prevented her from working. Despite her ongoing efforts to maintain a stable and nurturing environment, the family’s limited income makes it difficult to afford essential items such as children’s clothing and household furnishings. Additionally, much of their furniture was water-damaged after being placed on the porch during a move, as it could not fit into their new living space.

Any support provided to this family during this challenging time would be deeply appreciated and would help ensure the continued stability and well-being of the children.
