One of our moms has a 5 month old baby girl that sleeps a lot better in a baby swing - and gives our teen mama some rest as she does other things around the house during naps. She doesn't have any "safe" sleep places currently for her baby other than her own bed, but she fell off once during a nap. She has no support and does everything on her own, so this would be such a gift to her to have for her baby!

In a routine follow up call to check in on a pastor and his wife, he told me that the funds that they received had to go to a new rental deposit and first months rent. The home in which they were staying was up on the short term lease and the landlord would not renew the lease with them at the rate of fire relief that was once given for the first 6 months. They are still without the necessary baby items that they need because the money has to go to moving costs again. They have their newborn who has now been moved twice in the 6 weeks he's arrived. I'm advocating for another $5,000 for their baby to get the crib, stroller, and other needs that they can finally have for their baby since they are going to be moved in their new place in August. This is a pastor and his wife who are continuing helping the people of their church in the Palisades who also lost their homes, but are continuing to run into their own issues with securing housing. I'm asking for assistance because they are not taking from their church assistance for fires to leave more for the congregants.

A stay at home mother who lived in a rented house in Altadena with her husband who is an Audio Engineer and three children until their home was completely destroyed by fire. Following the total loss of their home, she and her family evacuated and have since secured a long-term rental apartment in Huntington Beach, where they now plan to stay for the next 1 to 2 years. Their current rent is $2,535 per month, a significant cost given the lack of immediate financial support following the fire. Her spouse is employed, and they report no insurance benefits, government assistance, or crowdfunding support related to the fire loss. She is now seeking two months of rental assistance to provide breathing room as her family settles into their new home and works toward rebuilding their lives.Their request includes: Two months of rent at $2,535/month: $5,070 Basic needs for food and clothing for a family of five: $1,000 . Total estimated assistance requested: $6,070 Providing this support would give their family the stability they urgently need after losing everything in the fire. Your assistance would directly impact a family working hard to move forward, offering hope, comfort, and security during this critical rebuilding phase.

Since the fire, he has been temporarily staying with friends and family in North Hollywood, but this is not a sustainable or secure long-term housing solution. He is actively searching for new rental housing, but face financial barriers, temporary rental assistance to bridge the gap while he rebuilds his business. At the time of the fire,he was self-employed in the e-commerce business (buying and selling goods online. Since losing his business equipment in the fire. He lost his computer, shipping scales, shipping materials, and shipping label printers: Estimated $1,800/month for 2months = $3,600 Business equipment replacement to resume work and regain income (cameras and equipment, but critical to long-term recovery) $3,400. Total estimated request for stabilization support is $7,000.

After the Eaton Fires, a single dad has his two kids and his mother staying with him while the family is trying to figure out the next steps. Because of this, the dad doesn't have the financial means to care for the extra people that are with him now for food, clothing, and every day necessities. Looking to provide some resource for him to care for his family during this time.

The family is in need of a black dressers, a dining table, and window locks for her children’s upstairs bedroom. Although she desires to purchase these items, she has been unable to do so. Despite this challenge, mother is compliant with court orders and case plan goals by meeting monthly with CSW and ensuring the children are available. A referral was submitted for Family Preservation to assist with time management and parenting support. Mother is committed to maintaining her children in her care and has demonstrated strengths, including consistency with family time, compliance with DCFS, and advocacy for her children. She provides stable housing and is focused on keeping her children safe. These items are essential to create a safe, clean home environment. The children currently have nowhere to store their clothes, no dining table to eat at, and the upstairs windows are unsafe. Mother recently moved into the home and is working and attending school, but is struggling financially to purchase these items. DCFS is requesting the following: black dressers, window locks, and a dining table. Without them, the children’s safety and needs cannot be fully met. This request is being made through Care Portal as DCFS cannot fund it in a timely manner. devoted single dad to his 5-year-old son, who is nonverbal and diagnosed with autism. For some time, they experienced homelessness and were living in hotels. Despite the challenges, he has worked tirelessly to create a better life for his son—and recently, he was blessed to secure permanent housing. Due to the high cost of living, he is struggling to afford basic household items for his family. These items would create a safe and comfortable home for his young son. These may seem like small things, but they will help this dad start strong on giving his son a new life. Here are the items needed:

We are coming alongside a young couple who are about to welcome their first baby. She is 17 years old and just graduated high school, and he is 16 and currently finishing his senior year at a high school in Santa Ana. Becoming new parents at such a young age comes with many challenges especially when it’s difficult to find steady employment at their age.

As they prepare for the arrival of their newborn, one of the most helpful ways we can support them is by helping with baby essentials. They are in need of clothing for their newborn, and a Target gift card would allow them to get diapers, wipes, and other important items. Groceries would also be a huge blessing as they begin adjusting to life as a young family.

This is a time of transition, full of unknowns, but also full of love and hope. We want to make sure they feel supported and seen as they take this big step into parenthood. We are so grateful for any support that helps lighten the load for them.

Hi we have young mom that is 19 years old, recently graduated from high school, and is preparing to start her first year at community college. She has worked incredibly hard to get to this point all while raising her child as a single mother.

Right now, she is staying with a friend while she waits to move into her new apartment on the 15th. This transition represents a major step toward stability and independence for her and her baby.

As she gets ready to move in, one essential item still needed is a refrigerator. This is a critical need to ensure she can store food safely for herself and her child. It’s a key piece in helping her establish a healthy and stable home as she begins this next chapter.

The caregiver/maternal aunt recently obtained legal guardianship of the children after the tragic loss of their mother, following a murder-suicide committed by the younger child's father. The caregiver has expressed that the children are in need of clothing and shoes, as well as bunkbed in order for the children to have their own space in her home. These items will not bring their mother back, but it will assist with the healing process and ensuring the children are comfortable in their new normal.

The children are residing with a family member to assist mother her case plan goals. The caregiver needs beds to facilitate a safe and appropriate sleeping quarters for the three children. The items that are needed are one set of bunk beds, two twin mattress, and two twin comforter sets. Also, a toddler bedframe, toddler bed, and toddler comforter. All three children are female. Relative caregiver is on a limited source of income helping the family was unexpected and did not allow her time to prepare for the children arrival. Although, relative caregiver is having that challenge, caregiver is meeting the case plan goals/court orders. Furthermore, caregiver is committed to providing the three younger children with housing until mother can secure housing while the shelter, she is residing in does not have room to accommodate all seven children which is why the younger three are placed temporarily with family. The main reason I am requesting this need to be fulfilled is because the children need proper bedding to facilitate a safe sleeping environment. If this need is not meet for the younger three children, they risk the possibility of being taken back into DCFS custody and reunification services begin again.

This need is being requested through Care Portal because unfortunately DCFS will not provide the items in a timely manner and possibly take up to 8 – 10 weeks. The estimated cost of the need/s being requested is $1,185.00 dollars.
