The children came to the attention of the Department due to physical abuse by the mother’s male companion. The father of the minors is experiencing mental, emotional, and aggressive behaviors and unable to care for the children. The children live with the mother and have previously faced challenges securing stable housing and lived with relatives. Last year, the family moved into a one-bedroom apartment where they have since found stability and enjoy the privacy of their own space. The mother is currently unemployed and seeking employment through the GAIN program. She occasionally takes on day jobs for sports and concert events. The mother has been compliant with her Court ordered programs. She remains attentive and committed to her children, striving to improve their situation and long-term stability. The children are doing well; they have adjusted positively to the changes and are attending a summer afterschool program. The mother is facing financial difficulties this month and is unable to cover the full cost of rent and her monthly bills. The mother is in need of $400 to cover the remainder of her rent.

This family includes four children ranging in age from newborn, 1 year old, 8 years old and 9 years old. While the baby has a crib to sleep in, the parents and other 3 children sleep on an old queen size mattress on the floor. They have a bunk bed frame for the two older children, but no mattresses. The family is experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford to purchase the mattresses themselves.

We are requesting 2 new twin size mattresses, as well as bedding for the beds (sheets, pillows and blankets), and face/body towels.

Adequate sleeping arrangements and proper sleep are essential for a healthy lifestyle. Filling this request will help improve the children's safety and well being and reduce stress and anxiety on the whole family.

We have a family that consists of the mother, father and 2-week-old baby. The family was homeless for quick some time but was able to finally secure housing. The family is struggling financially and is in need of assistance with the following items: baby boy clothes (sizes 0 to 3 months and 6 to 9 months), bottles, stroller and a baby tub. By fulfilling this request, it will assist the parents with providing for the baby’s basic needs.

Mother is a devoted, mother of seven children, ages 5-18. The case came to the attention of DCFS due to physical abuse, general neglect and caretaker incapacity. She works tirelessly to rebuild her life and reunify with her children who are not currently in her care. She is overcoming financial hardships while staying committed to her sobriety. She diligently works to complete Court ordered programs. In addition to working temporary and odd jobs to make ends meet to maintain stable residence in prearrange of reunifying with her children. As part of her progress, her older children now have unsupervised visits, but the home lacks essential furniture to sit and sleep comfortably. This is an urgent need as the Court reported that the children are fast tracked to return to mother's care on 05/07/25. This request will ensure children's safety as the residence will be clean and furnished with beds so they won't have to sleep on the floor. This request will strengthen parental capacity by providing emotional and physical care. This request will lessen her stressors and free up some of her time to spend with her children ultimately enhance the potential for permanency. Reportedly, mother and father are currently experiencing financial hardships, and are in need of three twin sized beds or one bunkbed and one twin for the children, ages 13,10 and 8. Neither father nor mother are currently working, and the family cannot allocate funds towards a suitable bed for the children at the moment. The family is also in need of dressers for the children as their current dressers are falling apart.

Dear Careportal, I am writing to respectfully request assistance in securing three beds and a crib for a single mother who is currently involved in an open DCFS case. This mother is a survivor of domestic violence and has recently taken a major step toward rebuilding her life by moving into her own apartment. Her children are in the process of being returned to her care, and while she is deeply committed to creating a safe and stable home, she currently does not have the financial means to provide beds for her children. Obtaining these beds would not only relieve significant stress for the mother but also offer her children a sense of stability, security, and comfort during this critical time of transition. Your support would allow this family to begin healing together in a safe and supportive environment. It would also enable the mother to focus on her continued progress, including maintaining her home and meeting the needs of her children. On 2/21/2024. Court will ordered and allowed the child to be cremated. DCFS to make best efforts to pay for the cremation of the child.

DCFS Policy for Burial is only for Foster Care Providers only NOT parents and the fees have to be paid upfront, and forms submitted to be reimbursed. CSW reached out to the person who sent the Morgue Release Letter via email, with the Notifications Section LAC Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office. This CSW asked for the Health Department and County Morgue Tax ID numbers. This CSW was provided with a flyer on how to obtain the ashes. Obtain the Health Permit first. Can obtain the Death Certificate at the same time. Once fee is paid present permit obtained to the Medical Center and pay the Cremation fee. Once fee is paid, will provide the driving directions to the Los Angeles County Crematory/Cemetery. CSW informed that the County Morgue and Health Department do not have Tax Id's and therefore would not be able to submit for funding and no other funding available. Person would have to pay the fees upfront and get reimbursed. The Department is trying to assist with obtaining ashes however, there does not appear to be any funding available for this situation. Trying to obtain to obtain the ashes of the child, who passed away on 12/23/2023 from the LA County Morgue on behalf of Mother. Health Permit is $11.00 dollars. Death Certificate $24. dollars. Cremation $352.00 dollars. Total of $387.00 dollars.

The parents are dealing with unexpected expenses related to a very expensive surgery that the 5 years old needs to have as soon as possible due to a medical diagnosis. The parents are hopeful to be able to overcome the current struggles they are facing financially to be able to continue providing safe environment for the children to thrive. Currently the parents are co-sleeping with the 5-month-old, and are in need of a crib, mattress, and sheets so that the baby can sleep independently. The parents are not able to afford purchasing a crib at this time. Providing these basic necessities would diminish the emotional stressors on the family. Currently, the mother and father are co-sleeping with the one-year-old child. The family is in need of a crib for the one-year-old to sleep independently.
