This Cg house got flooded back in October from Hurricane Milton. This Cg has been handwashing laundry since October, her dryer was luckily on stilts and wasn't affected. This Cg is taking care of a two year old, she is older and hand-washing her clothes inside the bath tub is putting a huge strain on her back and knees. This Cg is asking for help with a washer.

The youth came into the dependency system in the beginning of 2023. The youth has had a history of concerning behavior prior to being placed with the current caregivers. Although there have been challenges, the youth is finally connected with services and is working on stability. The youth has vocalized that she would like to attend a baby-sitting camp in the community. The caregiver is working on funding for other camps that the youth will attend through the summer and needs assistance paying for this camp.

When the request is met, the youth will be able to participate in extracurricular activities and learn new skills.

This request is for a family of 6. The mother is a single parent, divorced from the father due to domestic violence. She works full time and received limited child support. The mother cannot afford summer camps for four children but is hoping to have activities for them to do while she is working. The maternal grandmother is able to assist with supervising the children. The children love any activities outside, especially in the water. The family is requesting outdoor activity items for the children. -Items such as: splash pad, reusable water balloons, water slide/slip and slide, Bean Bag Toss Game, Bean Bag Tic Tac Toe, adjustable batting tee. Can provide specific examples of items if request is fulfilled.

This family is in need of assistance obtaining formula for their 6-month-old. Both parents work, they do not have reliable transportation, and are currently living in a motel. The baby is eating both formula and has started to eat some solids specifically for babies (jar baby food and rice cereal). Mom is having trouble obtaining WIC benefits due to not having all the required paperwork; she has applied for SNAP Food Stamps but their benefits are pending. They would greatly benefit from any assistance in the meantime. The family is able to receive deliveries to their current residence. Thank you!

I am submitting a CarePortal request on behalf of a family that is working with our program. The youth is in need of a computer for schooling purposes. She is currently not attending school due to excessive bullying, which has led to significant struggles with depression and anxiety. As a result, the youth is interested in completing her education online and working toward earning her GED. She’s being raised by her grandmother, who is doing her best to support her and create a path toward success. However, they do not currently have the resources to provide her granddaughter with a laptop, which is essential for accessing online schooling programs. I’m requesting a laptop through CarePortal to help support educational goals in a way that accommodates her mental health needs. Thank you for your support!

We have the most lovely foster parents that continue to amaze us by stepping up to help whenever they can! They currently have a full house! They recently took placement of 3 teenage girls, and they are awaiting another teen within the next few weeks! They are short on storage and making accommodations so everyone has space and they don’t have to then anyone away, they are looking for a long dresser and a chest of drawers to fit the spaces and make the kids comfortable!

This high risk family is in need of assistance getting blow up mattresses. Mom is a single parent of three (ages 9, 6, and a newborn). Mom is currently staying at a friend's house due to needing air mattresses for her new apartment. The baby has appropriate sleeping arrangements. Mom could use air mattresses for herself, the 9 y/o and the 6 y/o to help push up her move into the new residence. Real bed/bedframes have been secured from another community resource and are pending, but she needs the air mattresses in the meantime so she can sleep at her new place. Thank you and God bless!

This family is in need of rental assistance for $1100 for April. The caregiver has taken in 4 children who are her great-nieces, ages 12,10, 4, and 3. She additionally has two children of her own. The caregiver experienced a period of unemployment to care for the needs of her youngest great-nieces. This caregiver has recently obtained stable employment, but she is still struggling due to her need to catch up on past due bills from when she was unemployed.

A young single mother of a 4-year-old child is seeking support to obtain a bus pass and a bed with appropriate accessories for her child. While the mother is employed and actively working to provide for her family, she is currently facing financial hardship. The cost of transportation to and from work, along with household expenses and basic necessities, has made it difficult for her to fully meet her child's needs. Providing this assistance would help ensure a stable and safe environment for the child and support the mother’s continued efforts toward self-sufficiency. Also, the bed will allow the child to have a good night's rest so he can learn and improve his much-needed rest.

The STEPS program has been working with a mother of three for a few months now. The mother is attempting to establish housing of her own so that she can remove herself and her children from a turbulant household. With the help of STEPS and the Homeless Coalition, the mother has been able to obtain an apartment with a move-in date of May 2. However, the mother is in need of assistance with paying the utlity deposits in order to get the utlities turned on. The mother reports that they need $50 to turn on the electric, $279 to turn on the water, and $50 for the security deposit for the apartment.

The caregiver is the caregiver of four of her grandchildren, 3 girls and 1 boy. The caregiver is currently in the process of adopting the youngest two. The caregiver had three of her grandchildren residing with her at first and a baby was born into the case. Initially, the caregiver was not able to handle a newborn with the other children, and she had a family friend to become a non-relative placement/ potential adoption placement. After a year of them caring for the youngest child the non-relative placement was disrupted and the caregiver found herself now caring for four of her grandchildren. The caregiver has beds for all the children but, the room is tight as she has a twin bed with a trundle underneath, a toddler bed and a pack n play in the bedroom. The caregiver would like to receive a bunk bed for the children to assist with space in bedroom. The caregiver is also in the process of being licensed with another child in the home. Licensing did have some concerns with the spacing in the bedroom. The caregiver is planning to re-organize the room to comply but, bunkbeds can assist.

The mother was able to secure a residence in Plant City close to her employer at that time. Her budget at the time indicated that she would be able to afford rent and expenses. However, in the wake of the back-to-back hurricanes in the Fall 2024, the mother was laid off. She was able to find stable employment in Tampa and reunified with her children in March 2025. However, her current income is insufficient to meet the needs to maintain the residence (which the landlord refuses to make repairs to) and cover the costs of transportation to her place of employment. The mother and the case manager have reached out to multiple community resources (Metropolitan Ministries, Catholic Charities, City of Plant City, etc.) but have been told that financial assistance is not available due to it being the end of the fiscal year. A FUP referral to Tampa Housing Authority has been made, but a decision has not yet been made. The mother worked hard to regain custody of her children but has been struggling especially since she does not receive child support from the father of the children.
