Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing
The client is a 14-year-old female who was removed from her parents at the age of 9, due to neglect (substance abuse/domestic violence) by the mother and her significant other. Child’s bio-father passed away when she was 3. The child was placed in a stable foster home where she remains to date. Mother’s reunification svcs have been terminated; the child is likely to remain in foster care as she does not wish to be adopted or placed in legal guardianship.
The foster parents report the child is a pleasure to have in their home – she is respectful and listens well. The child recently completed 7th grade and admitted she spends much of her time alone in her room. To address/mitigate isolative behaviors, we investigated her interests. This child is quite amazing and is talented in the arts. She enjoys reading, drawing, and is interested in learning to play the flute and violin. Respectfully, we would like to request the following:
- Art Supplies – graphite pencils, sketchbooks, or a gift card to Target, Walmart, or an arts supply store so she can purchase art supplies.
- Gift card to a bookstore such as Barnes and Noble to buy books for summer reading.
- Donation of a gently used flute and/or violin so she can join the school band or take music lessons. Thank you for your consideration in assisting with the requested items. Obtaining these items will help prevent isolative behaviors, increase social integration and self-confidence, and develop her artistic skills.

Help Make a Kinship Placement
These two minor children were recently placed in the care of their paternal grandmother, who has limited financial resources and is caring for them on her own. In an effort to provide stability, she has moved into the children's home to ensure they can maintain their daily routines and remain in the same school. While the family is receiving assistance in obtaining twin beds, they are still in need of essential bedding items, including two comforters, two pillows, and two sets of bed sheets.

Help Prevent a Child From Entering Foster Care
A mother in an inpatient treatment center with a two month old baby son is caring for him while participating in an inpatient treatment facility. Mother appears to be committed to maintianing sobriety after many years of substance abuse and past removal of her older children. Mother has limited support and the father is not involved. Mother notified DCFS the need for new baby bottles and nipples for her baby. The request is for new bottles for baby to help resolve the current medical diagnosis of thrush. Mother is in need of new bottles, nipples and a bottle brush so she can prevent the baby’s exposure to thrush. Mother has limited funds and desparately needs these items. Since the baby is eating more often, mother needs more bottles and is unable to fully sanitize the bottles timely in her current treatment residence. Having an additional supply will allow mother to thoroughly clean and sanitize the bottles in groups so she can give baby clean milk and supplies when needed. The bottles needed are special bottles as the baby will only take to this particular nipple, along with a bottle brush. Your donation would support the newborn baby’s medical needs while in the care of his mother and prevent additional stress for mother while recovering during her postpartum period. Help Preserve a Kinship Placement
The family came to the attention of DCFS due to mother giving birth and as she arrived at Hospital the baby hit his head on the concrete and was unresponsive. Baby has made progress but parents have 4 other children who were also removed due to substance concerns. They are all placed with grandparents. The parents live in Pomona and are trying to reunify with the children. However, they have a 2011 Chevy Tahoe that needs repairs. The car needs - engine mount $211, Radiator $313.99, and Transmission Flywheel $155.99. (AutoZone prices) Father reported that he and his father are able to do the repairs but are unable to buy the parts. Only mother is employed , as father reports being undocumented/ and having an accident 2 years ago, is not able to work. Mother has completed 52 weeks parenting and DV program. Father is enrolled in his programs substance abuse, anger mgmt, therapy and parenting. They visit the children consistently in Norwalk but having reliable transportation would support them in their reunification process with visits and attending testing's and court ordered programs. This family would greatly appreciated any financial assistance given for their car repair needs even if it is some of the expenses for the car parts.

Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing
2 of 2 This is a devoted single mother caring for three young children. After experiencing several months of housing instability, including couch surfing, she has finally found an apartment in Riverside. Without access to a car, she relies entirely on public transportation to get to both work and school. Her daily routine is incredibly demanding, one of her children has special needs, and with her kids attending two different schools, mornings are especially challenging. Community members have even witnessed her running between drop-offs and bus stops, trying her best to make it to work on time. Despite her resilience and dedication, the family is in need of essential household items, even if they're used. They do not have a refrigerator or beds, and a TV would be a meaningful comfort for the children during this transitional time.

Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing
This request is for a refugee family of 7 who recently moved from a small furnished apartment to an unfurnished one. They are asking for a refrigerator that is in good working condition. Since they live in an apartment, the ideal size would be between 20 and 24 cu ft. Style is not essential.
The father has only been able to secure work two days a week, and the mother stays at home to care for the five children. The father attends school to continue improving his English skills, which will give him more employment opportunities.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
A dedicated student who will be graduating this June from Riverside City College with her RN certification is a single mother who has shown remarkable commitment in managing her academic responsibilities, parenting, and limited work hours. Due to the intensity of the RN program, she is currently working reduced hours, making it challenging to cover the costs associated with the licensure process. Assistance with the following expenses will enable her to obtain her nursing license and begin employment as a registered nurse, with starting wages around $40 per hour. This will greatly enhance her ability to independently support herself and her son.
Estimated Costs for California RN Licensure (Licensure by Examination – First-Time Applicant):
Application Fee: $300
Fingerprint Processing Fee: $49
NCLEX-RN Examination Fee: $200
Optional Temporary RN License: $100 Total Estimated Cost: $649
