I have a single mother that has three children at home and two children in care. She reached out and said that her radiator hose exploded on her car and she is unable to pay for the replacement hose and the labor that comes to putting a new one in her car. If she can’t get this fixed, she is in jeopardy of losing her job, thus losing her home and her other children possibly coming into care. She isn’t sure on the price but by googling it ranges from $350 upwards of $1200. Anything is helpful at this point. Thank you!!

The youth is currently in need of a Twin box spring to help create a more comfortable and supportive sleeping arrangement in her new placement. At this time, she is unable to get proper rest due to the lack of this essential item, which is impacting her overall comfort and ability to fully settle into her environment.

A grandmother is caring for three of her grandchildren who are involved in the foster care system. One of the children would like to go see the production of WIZ this week at the Music Hall in KC. The family simply does not have extra funds for these sorts of experiences.

As she is a child, there would be a need for at least two tickets. The ticket cost would run around $100-180 total depending upon the seats. Tickets are selling quickly, and the show is later this week.

I have a mom who just started her trial home visit and daycare won’t start till later in the month. Because daycare won’t start Monday, this mom is having to miss work and her job has really been understanding but she can’t miss 11 days of work. She is needing help with self pay until state pay kicks in.

Aunt who is caring for her own children and three of her sisters' needs help with a shut of notice she received from Evergy. She has put her life on hold to care for her nieces and nephews while her sister works on her sobriety. This has included overnight hospital stays, daycare, etc. at her own expense

The amount requested will prevent a shut off.

Jackson County Children's Division is seeking assistance in supplying a family who is in need of Uber gift cards to help them get around town & to attend their visitation with their 4-month-old son. It seems to be that having a vehicle and stable housing are the only barriers this family is facing that might be preventing them from reunifying within the time frame they would like to reunify in. Otherwise, they are doing absolutely everything & more to be able to ensure they are prepared for their little one to come home. This couple is doing exceedingly well on their progress towards sobriety and reunification with their son! The couple is 120 days sober from ALL substances and are actively participating in all services at this time! The couple is SO determined to reunify with their son, that they took it upon themselves to join other additional support groups on top of what they're required to participate in. They have even provided me as a caseworker with other resources within the local community that I hadn't known about, to then research and give out to other clients to help them! That is one of the many reasons as to why I enjoy working with this family so much. I am very proud of this couple and am hopeful that Care Portal will be able to find something to assist this couple in finding transportation vouchers. This family is needing assistance with rent/deposit for a new home due to the family needing more space for a child they are taking as kinship placement after a life altering accident. The child needs more space for the medical equipment along with the ability for them to work with nursing, physical, and occupational therapist in the home. Assisting with the rent/deposit will allow the family to move and settle in to their new home, and allow the child to discharge from the hospital after being admitted for over 6 months. Any assistance is appreciated.

The family is struggling, and an older sibling stepped in to take the younger siblings into their home. Adding three additional people into the home has created a financial burden on the older sibling, and they could benefit from a gas card and groceries.

Food bank/pantries in the area will be provided to the family as well, but in the meantime, they could use immediate assistance as the older sibling works.

Hello, I am looking to help keep a relative home in-tact by finding some assistance for them with an upcoming water bill that is due on July 15th. This relative has been working extremely hard to care for her three nieces/nephews while also taking care of an adult friend in her home, whom she is also responsible for, who is sick. She called me, frantic and panicking, because all three children had needed a few extra items this month and she is no longer getting assistance from bio parents. She had to use all her expandable money she had leftover to cover this and now she is short for the water bill. Not only that, but her landlord had recently notified her that rent will be increasing after the summer, and this is an added stressor she is trying to navigate as well. At this time, I would really appreciate any help we can get to cover the cost of her water bill that is coming up and ensure her and these beautiful children continue having running water and don't incur further charges or fees that she cannot afford to pay at this time. Any help as soon as possible, would be greatly appreciated.
