This request supports a single mother of two who is working hard to maintain a stable and safe environment for her children. Her vehicle currently needs immediate repair to the rear brake pads and rotors, which are dangerously worn and could soon fail. Safe and reliable transportation is critical to daily parenting responsibilities, especially for school, appointments, and family obligations. Supporting this request will directly impact the safety and stability of this household. The mother is currently off work due to a back injury and is actively pursuing pain management treatment in order to return to full-time employment. In the meantime, she is doing everything she can to hold her home together, even in the midst of delayed disability payments and limited resources. Reliable transportation is one of the last pieces she needs to keep strong.

In April, an aunt took placement of her triplet nephews who entered foster care due to medical neglect. The three boys are one years old. One of the triplets has a GI tube and is diagnosed as failure to thrive. At the time of removal he was hospitalized for two weeks weighing only 11lbs. The aunt has a child of her own but did not hesitate taking in her 3 nephews. Unexpectantly taking placement has been not only a financial burden but also space. They have quickly outgrown their apartment and she has located a larger home for the boys as she is able to maintain placement for as long as needed. The aunt is working but does not have the security deposit or first months rent. She needs $1550 for the security deposit and $1550 for the first months rent in order to maintain placement of the triplets

A 17-year-old youth has a chance to participate in Bible Camp this summer. Caregivers are unable to provide the funding for it. We are looking to get funding as soon as possible due to how quickly the camp spots are filling. Caregivers report they hope to have him participate in this camp as they also would benefit from the respite it will provide, and they want to preserve placement

I am working with a mother that recently had a Spine injury at her job, and has been in the process of going to appointments to get worker's comp approved, as she is off on medical leave without pay due to not being allowed to go back to work. Her job is very physically demanding, but she has used all of her available sick pay. The process of getting worker's comp approved has taken over a month, and could take up to another month or two to get approved. She works part time at Olive Garden making minimum wage, but with appointments and their scheduling, she has not been able to increase her hours too much. Her current rental payment is 2,100 a month, but she is not able to receive assistance because that amount is over the market rent rate for a 3BR in Kent County. Because of the past month without working, she is not going to be able to pay rent for July. We are hoping to get some assistance, with at least half of her rent, to avoid an eviction notice and maintain a good relationship with her landlord. We are hopeful her workers comp will get settled in July and she will have income moving forward.

We are reaching out on behalf of a courageous mother who has been navigating serious mental health challenges, including PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, and major depression. Since 2023, these struggles have intensified.

In April 2023, a lightning strike during a severe storm caused a fire in her duplex. Her landlord’s side was severely damaged, while her basement suffered water damage. The space where her family gathered and her kids did homework was left unusable. While they were physically safe, the trauma of that night has had a lasting impact.

Since then, she’s struggled to feel safe or connected to her home. Despite renting a dumpster, hiring professional help, and following her psychologist’s advice, the clutter and disarray remain overwhelming. She has been trying for two years, but it’s become clear she cannot do this alone.

At the encouragement of her support team at Treetops, she is reaching out again. We’re seeking help with organizing, decluttering, and light cleaning. A shelf or storage support would also make a big difference.

Single mom of 2 needing assistance with past due rent in order to keep her home. This mom has always maintained full time employment, but due to a back injury flare up, has been out of work. This mom continues to work her hardest to provide for her family, which includes a son who has Autism that has appointments that she also maintains. This mom is working closely with a doctor to find a pain management remedy that will take her off work restrictions and allow her to work full time once again. Her employer is holding her job while she works on this. This mom does a great job managing the stress of being a single mom, and needs a little help with this financial burden while she works on healing herself. Thank you for any assistance, it is very much appreciated.

I just met with this client for the first time today. She has successfully moved home from shelter! She is in a unit that only has one window AC unit. The AC unit was cheap and it is already falling apart. She told me today it cools only room it is in and it does not get to her kid's rooms, which she is concerned about. While she is at work, she is having to send her kids to a friends house to stay cool and avoid heat exhaustion. She is looking for a new or really just a working AC unit she can place in her kids room to help keep them cool.

I just met with my client for the first time today. She has successfully moved home from shelter! However, she has only been able to get 2 full bed frames for her kids. At this time they are sleeping on the floor until she can find a mattress, box spring and bedding for them. My client is working full time but even with her current income, she is only able to pay for necessities. She is working 60 hour weeks to try and make extra income, but with her new expenses she is still working out a new budget which we will be working on together.

She would love to get 2 full mattresses, box springs, and bedding for her children to help with cost. She is open to any used gently used items!

Her son has a significant disability and keeping him safe and comfortable is now a precarious endeavor. This mama's car broke down and she is unable to pay for the significant repair bill. As a result, she's been unable to get to work, lost her income, and now her electricity has been shut off. She does not have support in town that she can rely on and carries a significant weight of responsibility in caring for her son alone. A single mother I am working with has been having significant bed bug issues in her apartment building and is not able to pay for treatment herself. The building has been treated but she needs to get rid of her mattress, as she has recently seen bugs there again and is no longer able to sleep in it. I am hoping to provide her with a new Queen mattress, as she recently broke her leg and is struggling to continue sleeping on the couch due to the discomfort it is causing. She is unable to walk currently and thus unable to work, so she has been struggling to make sure her and her son's needs are cared for. A new mattress would allow her to get rid of her current mattress, as she has it separated and has not seen any sign of bugs in her sons mattress. He has a protective cover over his mattress, so If possible a cover for the new mattress would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a mattress on amazon that could be shipped to her directly, so that no person needs to enter the unit. We are hoping this brings her one step closer to having a comfortable living environment while she recovers from a broken leg. Go To Link
