Please help a single mother who has lost her only means for transportation. The mother would like to continue working services but she no longer has a vehicle. The mother is willing to utilize public transportation to get to her services but she does not have the financial ability to buy a buss pass. Thank you.

Please help this family get a microwave oven. The child is 14 and will be home alone this summer while mom is working. He needs a way to heat up some quick meals to eat while she is gone. This family is trying to reunite and mom is working 2 jobs to care for the child. Her income does not allow her the luxury of purchasing items that are not absolutely necessary. The family is not picky on what brand or color of microwave. Thank you so much for considering this request.

Safe Families recently has connected with a young mother and her 5 year old son who is currently in a critical situation. She recently underwent surgery for ovarian cancer and is now preparing to begin dialysis treatment on May 5th. As the sole caregiver for her young autistic son, she has been unable to work since her surgery and is now facing the possibility of eviction.

She is currently $430 short on rent and has until Thursday, May 1st to make the payment in full. Without immediate assistance, she and her son will lose their home during an already overwhelming time of medical recovery and transition.

This is a mother who is fighting for her health, caring for her child, and doing everything she can to stay afloat. Meeting this need would not only provide her with stable housing, but with the peace of mind to focus on her healing and caring for her son!

Bio mom has had her wallet stolen earlier this week and is in need of desperate help to replace them. Bio mom has gotten a new job that will help her to move forward in the case and for her daughter. The job is giving her extra time to replace her ID, social security card, and Birth certificate. Time will run out on May 6th causing her to lose the opportunity if she cannot provide the documents.

The Demand Project (TDP) exists to eradicate human trafficking, online enticement, child sexual abuse material, and the commercial sexual exploitation of children. One of the ways we fight this is through our residential campus for teen girls. As the residents work through the program, we find ways to teach them money management. Unfortunately, some of the residents are not old enough to get a job off campus. We have been able to find jobs for them on campus and pay them with gift cards. Our stock of gift cards is dwindling and are hoping you would be able to help replenish the stash. We are looking for $10 gift cards to a variety of Places; such as Dollar General, Target, Wal Mart, ULTA, or even QuickTrip. We are thankful for your consideration to help provide for the residents. Our kinship foster mother recently took placement of a teen. She has poured her own limited resources into making this new placement a smooth transition for this young person. Every spare dollar has gone towards helping this teen feel safe and welcome. Unfortunately, this has left her own pantry bare, and with her next paycheck still a couple of weeks away, she's facing a real challenge putting food on the table. Any support you could offer to help bridge this gap would be deeply and sincerely appreciated, not just for her, but for the well-being of this teenager she has so generously welcomed into her home.

A single mom of six children ages ranging from 3-13 years of age, including a 4-year-old with autism with special needs urgently needs housing. Mom is trying to protect her children from bio dad who has a history of domestic violence. Mom has fallen behind on her rent and is now ordered to move out Wed, April 30th. She has been diligently working on finding a new home and because of the size of her family she is unable to secure low income, federally funded housing due to lack of availability. She is on several waiting lists, including Section 8 but nothing is currently available. Her credit was ruined by her ex-husband, therefore, she has been unable to pass a credit check with other apartment/housing options. She has filled out numerous applications for transitional housing for singles moms and children. She was able to find an apartment in the children's current school district (to not disrupt children's day to day) that doesn't require a credit check but does require $1500 security deposit. She is able to come up with $500 on her own and she just started a job today to pay for her rent month to month. I am requesting $1000 to make up the $1500 in order for this family to not be homeless after April 30th. Any amount for funds will be greatly appreciated and we will continue to work to secure the remainder of the $1000 needed. Thank you so much.

Family needs deposit for gas company to move into a new home. The mother was working attempting to come up with the deposit amount but broke her foot. The family is trying to get out of a very emotionally triggering apartment. There was a child death of a close friend, and the parent and children are triggered emotionally every time they go outside. This move would be a great benefit to the emotional wellbeing of the children.

A courageous and devoted mother of four is in urgent need of our support. On Thursday, April 24th, she bravely reached out for help to escape an abusive situation. With three young children at home and one in school, she has been unable to work and currently has no financial resources, support system, or safe place to go. We have been by her side, calling every available shelter, but sadly, each one is at full capacity. Thanks to the support of a generous community resource, she and her children have a safe place to stay in a hotel for two nights (Thursday & Friday). Another organization has kindly provided a third night (Saturday)— but come Sunday, they will once again have nowhere to go. While we continue working tirelessly to find space in a shelter, the hotel remains the only safe option for this family right now. We are asking for your help to provide just one more night of safety and stability for this mother and her children. The hotel she is currently staying at is $200 a night but moving to a cheaper hotel is an option. Her gratitude has been profound — she is overwhelmed by the kindness and compassion shown so far. Let’s continue to lift her up in this moment of need. Every little bit makes a difference. Thank you for helping us keep this family safe.

Hello, I'm looking for some assistance helping 2 girls 13 & 14 feel a little more at home. Foster mom is a teacher that the girls knew and she opened her home to take them in, but needs a little help replacing their personal items. The girls have asked us to see if we can find the following 1) A curling iron similar to the Conair Infinity Pro (roughly $25); 2) 2 kick scooters similar to the Wayplus, (roughly $70) - the girls are able to take scooters to visit the neighborhood park of the foster home, but the ones they have are in disrepair and this is an important activity for them; 3) a nightlight projector similar to the Galaxy 13 in 1 ($40) and; 4) both girls are very athletic and need help buying sports bras - both play soccer and attend jiu jitsu. They were uncomfortable sharing specifics about the sports bras, but any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Several of the families at school and jiu jitsu have pitched in to provide clothing and other items already, but they are missing these items and don't feel comfortable asking. Thank you!!
