We have a 19yo girl who chose to sign back into foster care after leaving an abusive relationship. She is attending her GED program 2x/wk and cares for her 9mo son. Currently she is in need of nice/professional clothes for job interviews. We are asking for a gift card to a store (Walmart/Target/etc.) to assist her with obtaining the clothes. We have a teenager who has recently found a book series he really likes. The series is called The Bluford Series. He already has books 1-8 which has been given to him by his support group. He has been reading them pretty quickly so any help getting him more of the books would be greatly appreciated. Each book on amazon is around $4-$6.

Path United is a non-profit organization that supports academic and social emotional growth for at risk kids in mobile home communities throughout Georgia. An exciting opportunity offered to students who are 5th grade and older is overnight camp. This is a first time experience for many students that helps to create a lifetime love of camp and an opportunity to practice the skills that they work on mastering all school year in Path’s programs. Upon camp arrival, the first stop is a lice check. This has been a struggle for our Barrow County students over the last two years. The solutions are an expensive on-site treatment option or going back home. Path staff want to take proactive measures to offer lice treatments before leaving for camp so that their students can have access to what they need in their familiar environment, with integrity and love. The client is a single mother of three children, ages 17, 16, and 13. She recently removed herself and her children from an unsafe living situation and, for several months, they stayed in a single room in a friend’s home. With support from a local community agency, the client has successfully secured stable housing. The family is now working to rebuild and regain a sense of normalcy. The client currently earns income through contract work, including DoorDash, Uber, and Lyft, as she has not yet secured stable, full-time employment. She is putting in significant effort to improve her circumstances, and stable employment is a critical step in achieving long-term stability for her and her children. As the family is essentially starting over, they have only their clothing and a few personal belongings. The client is seeking assistance to pay the referral fees required to obtain furniture through the Furniture Bank. She would be deeply appreciative of any support that can be provided to help meet this need.

Hello everyone, I am reaching out to see if we can help a newly reunified family. This parent has overcome trials and tribulations to be reunified with her 4 beautiful young babies. She is asking for a bit of help getting groceries for this month as she recently applied for few stamps and has not yet had her interview. The mother recently sustained a fractured foot and a sprain in the other, and is currently using crutches and wearing a medical boot. She is the sole caregiver for her four children, ages 8, 2, 1, and a newborn. The family is temporarily residing in an extended stay hotel and is experiencing significant financial hardship. The children are currently in need of milk/formula and food. Although the mother receives food stamp benefits, they have been depleted and will not replenish until 5/23/25. She currently has only $5 in her bank account. The children's father is currently detained in jail, and as a result, the mother has had to stop working to care for the children full-time. Her extended family lives in New Jersey and is unable to offer financial support.

We are currently working with a family that is in need of a dumpster hall off as there is an accumulation of trash bags of trash and other items throughout the home due to the mother becoming unable to pay for trash service. Extermination services are also needed due to there being a large amount of roaches and gnats throughout the home. There are two children in the home and one of the children has medical issues. The mother is doing the best she can but has a limited support.

To achieve her educational goals, she will need reliable transportation via MARTA three days a week to attend her classes. Her mother is lovingly stepping in to care for her grandson while she focuses on her studies, but unfortunately, her mother is currently unemployed and unable to cover the cost of MARTA fares.

In addition to her classes, this dedicated young woman visits the courthouse monthly to meet with her probation officer, who is guiding her in envisioning a hopeful path forward. To facilitate her education and potential future employment, we kindly request assistance in providing her with a monthly MARTA card.
