House consists of mom, grandma and child. Grandma and mom both work but grandma had a heart bypass not too long ago and cannot work for long periods. The mom was working but her store closed abruptly as they filed for bankruptcy. Mom’s checks from there have been bouncing as the company doesn’t have money to pay the employees right now. She got a new job but it is going to take a few weeks before she gets her first check and it will be very small since she just started. Mom also had to take a week off when her autistic child was sick and he recently had a procedure in the hospital she had to be off for as well. The family is behind right now on bills. I have helped with the bills but they need groceries, pull ups, household products such as toilet paper, cleaning products, etc.

A single mother with a 5-month-old baby is in urgent need of financial assistance to cover the cost of critical dental work. She requires 16 tooth extractions and top and bottom dentures, which will significantly improve her quality of life. Despite diligently researching and securing the lowest possible price, the total cost remains around $2,000. She is working hard to save $1,000 on her own but needs help raising the remaining half. This dental care is vital not only for her health—addressing pain and preventing further complications—but also for her ability to care for her baby. With restored oral health, she will be better equipped to eat properly, maintain her energy, and focus on building a brighter future for herself and her child. This support will provide her with the opportunity to thrive as a mother and role model for her baby.

Support needed for three amazing single mamas who are in need of funds to help cover groceries and household supplies for the next month. This includes two mamas with 5-month-old babies who need baby essentials like formula, diapers, and wipes, as well as a third mama who is pregnant and needs nutritious food and household necessities to prepare for her little one’s arrival. The family is struggling with the condition of their home which is making it unhabitable for the children. The home is infested with roaches; the walls are covered in them to the point it appears as dirt on the wall. The home needs to be deeply cleaned and decluttered. There is a lingering odor in the home from the roaches and dirt.

The child is 15yo in 9th grade. The family moved from Irving to Dallas and He was no longer able to get to school in Irving. The local school in Dallas requires uniforms with the school logo and the mother is unable to afford. The child is in men sizes.

Single mother is caring for 8 children. Mother is requesting 4 bunk beds and a table with 4 chairs. Children were sleeping on air mattress but no longer in good sleeping condition. Having their own bed will help children have their own sleeping space. Any assistance is appreciated.

Single mom with 8 children is requesting assistance with obtaining a new/used dryer. She reported it takes almost an entire day for the clothes to dry and there are 9 people total living in the home, making it difficult for her to be caught up on laundry.

Low-income single mom is requesting assistance with obtaining 2 mattresses for her younger children. They are all currently co-sleeping on 1 bed. The Department can provide air mattresses, but we are hoping for a more long-term solution.

I am currently working with a newly single mother who has recently left a domestic violence marriage. After years of abuse, she courageously chose to walk away in order to protect herself and her children. Her former partner was the primary financial provider, leaving her to start over with very limited resources. She is now employed at a local school, but her income is not enough to cover basic living expenses, legal fees, and the cost of raising her children. She is also in the middle of an ongoing legal battle to protect her family, while her abuser continues to intimidate and create obstacles. Despite these challenges, she remains strong in her decision not to return to the abusive situation. This mother is in urgent need of financial assistance to help cover housing, utilities, and essential needs. She would greatly benefit from access to affordable or pro bono legal representation, as well as connection to a supportive community to walk alongside her in this new season of life. Any financial help, resources, or referrals to programs that support survivors of domestic violence would have an immediate and lasting impact on her and her children.

I am writing on behalf of a single father who is currently facing a difficult and urgent situation. This father is the sole caretaker of his 5yo son, who has been diagnosed with autism. He has recently relocated to Rockwall in an effort to provide a safer and more stable environment for his child. Prior to their move, the child endured systemic abuse while living in Louisiana — abuse that was reportedly inflicted not only by multiple organizations but also by his biological mother. Due to the severity of the situation, the father was granted sole custody and made the decision to leave Louisiana and start over in Texas, far from the trauma and instability of their past. Currently, this father and son are residing in a hotel while he seeks stable housing and resources for his child. Despite reaching out to numerous organizations for help, he continues to struggle to secure affordable housing. He could benefit from any form of financial assistance or access to programs that can help him secure stable housing. Assistance with deposits, rental support, or access to transitional housing programs would be life-changing for this family. Additionally, any resources specifically designed to support children with autism would be greatly appreciated. This family is committed to rebuilding their lives in Rockwall and contributing positively to their new community.

A young mother of 2 children, both under the age of 2, is needing help with getting clothing for herself and the children. She is currently on bed rest from giving birth and is unable to work at this time. The mother is also in need of a support system as she has moved states alone.
