This family is in need of items for their home. The mother has been able to not work due to maternity leave and needs items from her home; she has been trying to maintain the bills and the home with the little income that she has until she is able to work. She has made huge progress over the past six years despite going through tough times and has really shown significant progress with the program during my time with her. I have noticed there are things that the home needs when being there for visits with the family, along with looking over the rooms. The mother has recently moved into this apartment and really started with nothing. The home has maintained staying clean, and I would like to get Mom a few items so she does not have the financial burden of trying to come up with money while parenting three young children (including a newborn). Mother is a single mom and is doing the best she can raising 4 boys. She is behind on BPU bill as she recently moved to Kansas after fleeing from her abusive husband. Mom is working really hard but just needs some extra support. Mother is asking for help with groceries and payment of her utility bill to alleviate concerns for children going hungry, and to ensure they are getting fed properly. It will also ensure their electricity does not get shut off as the holidays and cold weather approach.

A mother that has recently reunified with her daughters just had her lights turned off and needs assistance with getting her electricity turned back on. Thankfully her heat is powered by natural gas, but she and the kids need to be able to use power to cook and do homework. Mom is struggling to figure out how to turn on her lights and pay rent for December, when her next pay check doesn't come until 12/10. Any assistance for this family would be greatly appreciated. With it being winter and the holidays, most assistance options have been pretty well exhausted.

DCCCA is currently working with two teen mothers who are in critical need of baby monitors. One of them has a 13-day old, beautiful baby and she is a teen mom that could benefit from having a monitor to effectively care and attend to her sweet baby girl. Unfortunately, this teen mom is a migrant who came with no family and has no support. Our second momma has multiple babies who are in need of constant monitoring as they are now fast and tend to wander around. Keeping them safe is important and necessary. A family who Clay County Children's Division is helping is in need of a Spire payment to be met. Family has been dealing with job issues and being cut hours and lay offs. They have been unable to make their Spire bill- they have attempted to make half payments so they could get their hot water turned back on and they have been declined. They have to make all $545 to be able to get their hot water turned back on. Being able to turn the hot water on again will help the family in many ways. Children and family are having to brush teeth with very cold water, showering with very cold water, etc.

Grandmother caring for her 3 grandchildren ages 4, 4 & 6 years old. The family has a bunk bed frame but is in need of 2 twin sized mattress/box spring, mattress protector, sheets, pillow & comforter/blanket. They also need a bedrail for the top bunk bed. This will help the children have their own beds and to be able to stop sharing a bed. Thank you for your consideration.

Kinship placement, Grandpa & Great Aunt are caring for 2 young children in their family. The home has cockroaches and desperately needs to be treated. The family is strapped for money and is unable to pay for the treatment. The family has gotten a quote from a pest control company for an initial treatment that would cost $350. They would need to follow up with additional treatments but any help to get them started would be appreciated. This would greatly improve the quality of living for the entire family but especially the children ages 18 months and 5 years old. Please consider helping this family. Thank you.

J.H. is placed in the home of a relative on the Kansas/Missouri Border Agreement ICPC. The family has been doing their best to provide everything J.H. needs, although due to J.H.'s level of care needed, she has been forced to take time off work. J.H. is in need of a new bed frame and bedding essentials. She could additionally use a dresser.

This is a sibling set of 4 girls ages 5-16. Mom has worked had to get an apartment after being homeless for sometime and is working to get her girls back home to her. Mom has just secured an apartment but will need a bunk bed and a dresser for 2 of the girls.

A bio dad that recently found out he had a son, and is going to soon reintegrate the 1 year old home to him. Dad has never had a baby before and needs some basic items to get his son home to him. Dad did not know about his son and was not expecting a baby to come live with him and so soon. So any and all baby items are needed.

Young adult still in foster care is close to exiting foster care by emancipation. He has a long-term home and has moved in. However, he only has an old mattress and no bed frame. He has broken his past bed frame as he rocks in his sleep at night, a result from past trauma. Requesting a new mattress and bed frame for this young man as he transitions to the rest of his life so he can have a more comfortable sleeping arrangement in his room and also a rug to go under the bed frame to prevent scratching the floor when he rocks at night during sleep.

Mom was let go of her job, but was able to find a new one a couple of weeks ago. However she is $300 short on her November rent payment since she was in between checks at the time. She is needing help with this last payment so she can have sustainable housing moving forward.

A 17-year-old girl, eldest of her family, expressed feeling frustrated because her car needs repair. At 17, there are a lot of things she is buying for her senior year that she needs money for (college applications, basketball shoes, fees on her school account, senior pictures, etc) but without a car she is hardly able to work as she has no way to get there. She lives in a single parent household with four siblings and helps mom with running errands and taking kids to and from school. This young woman is a A+ student and is very involved in her community. She said it would be a little over $250 to fix her car but any assistance would help tremendously.

Children's Division is working with a family concerned about roach infestation inside the refrigerator and mainly in the kitchen area. The family has cleaned up the kitchen area but is in need of roach motels or bombs. Thank you in advance for supporting a healthy, clean home environment.

Need help in purchasing new football cleats and helmet visor for a 14 y/o boy who recently reunified with his mom. Throughout his time in care he changed between multiple placements and different schools. Despite the many transfers, the teenager maintained excellent grades and attendance and has been able to play football at each school. He is growing rapidly and needs new cleats and a required visor for his new team. Football is extremely important to him and he works hard to ensure he can play in addition to his educational goals. He has high hopes and aspirations to attend college and interest in computers/coding. He utilizes football as a healthy coping skill and gains many skills from his coaches and team such as teamwork, discipline, and physical exercise. Either the specific items or a gift card to a sporting goods store would help obtain the items and allow him to pick out the right fit/style himself as he is learning financial skills as a teenager such as how much items cost, how to shop around, and check out/pay for yourself. Helping meet this need would free up funds in the home for other necessary items.

Two single moms, each with 2 children, are in need of extra support. Although they are both employed, they struggle financially to make ends meet. They are in need of basic furniture items for their home, including a couch, a kitchen table with 6 chairs, a vacuum cleaner, and clothing storage items. Asking for a toddler/convertible car seat and a highchair Young adult was in a car accident and has been unable to work. She will need a new car seat for her child because the seat was in the car at the time of the accident. She also needs a highchair because she was recently referred to an eating specialist for her son and told it would be best for him to have a highchair to eat.
