Help Improve a Child's Well-being

This mother was working 2 jobs while pregnant and trying to save up before giving birth. Her son came early though and was very premature. She has stopped working to be with him at the hospital and is attempting to breastfeed him since that is best for all babies but especially premature babies, but she now cannot afford her rent. She will likely be off for at least 8 weeks. Her rent is $1,300.00. The mother may be able to return to work after 8 weeks to maintain her livelihood, but in the meantime needs extra support since she had tried to plan for this event and the baby had other ideas about when to be born Updated on May 10, 2023 by an Agency Worker
Mom now has an eviction notice with a baby about to come home from the NICU and this request is even more urgent. Help would allow this baby to go home with his mother.

Children's Division has been working with this family of a single mother, four children (aged 9, 8, 5, and 4), and a dog. Mom works nights and is supported by a cousin who helps care for the children. The three eldest children are enrolled in school and the youngest is going to start school next year. Mom is doing her best to try and provide for her children's needs, but is in need of some assistance. She was shy to ask for help, but after explaining that everyone needs help from time to time, she became a lot more comfortable with the idea of letting her community help her. The following is a long list of needs, but any little bit helps; • Gas Bill (Spire Gas) the bill is 2228.85 When asked why this is so high she stated that she got behind during the winter (they live in an large OLD drafty house) • Air Conditioners (2) • One Twin Bed or Full Bed • Dining Room Table with chairs • Bowls (Plastic) • Cups (Plastic) • Plates (Plastic) • Silverware • Towels • Curtains • Books for the kids to read • Toys • Clothes for the kids o Child 1 (age 9) shirt size Lg/14/16, pants size 16 Long or husky, shoe 8.5 mens o Child 2 (age 8) shirt size M/ 12-14 girls, pants 12/14 girls, shoe 4 o Child 3 (age 5) shirt size M 12/14 girls, pants 16 or Husky, shoe 1 o Child 4 (age 4) shirt size 4/5T, pants 5 T, shoe 10

A family with four children were evicted from their home by their landlord, who locked the family out of the home and prevented the family from retrieving most of their furniture in the home. The family was then homeless for three months, living in hotels, but are now in a home, however, they still need help securing furniture. The family lives in Kansas but are involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters KC and items could be dropped at the BBBSKC office in downtown KC for us to get the items to the family, if you or your organization is unable to partner w/ Kansas families. The family is in need of 3 clothes dressers, with drawers, for the three youngest children.

High Urgency Request
Hello! Crittenton Children's center is seeking assistance for help with utilities for a family who recently moved to Missouri from Tennessee. This family has no relatives here in Missouri. The court has approved the mother's children be returned home (ages 15, 13, 12 and 7) so long as the mother begins utilizing intensive in-home services (IIS) immediately and the services remain in place upon her children are returned home. This worker was given pre-approval that this family will qualify. With the removal of the children from Mom's home it has caused emotional distress and lack of motivation. Most recently, the mother was offered employment with the Cheesecake Factory. However, she is now experiencing car problems. However, she is familar and willing to ride the bus. In addition to the car issues, the mother is unable to begin working because she doesn't have a state ID. She is unable to purchase an ID due to no lack of funds. She is in need of financial assitance to aleviate some of the stress she's experiencing. The mother is in need of a state ID. She believes the cost of the ID is $18-$20. Additionally, the mother has fell behind on some of her utility bills and is panicking. Mom can truly benefit from a fresh start as a result of getting help with her utilites. The mother is in need of help with her: Electric bill (Evergy) - $109, Water bill (KC Water) - $78, Gas Bill (Spire) - $110 and State ID: $18-$20 Any help is appreciated, thank you! Maternal grandmother is the placement provider for two children in Children's Division custody and the guardian of two other children who live in the home. She is looking to move to a larger home to have more adequate space for the children and needs assistance with paying for the deposit to move into the home. She works a full-time job and has already saved up $600 for the deposit. FosterAdoptConnect is willing to provide $1000 towards the deposit and now she just needs assistance towards the remaining balance.
