Help Strengthen a Bio Family
I'm requesting consideration for bus passes for the next two months for a client of mine. This mother is currently working towards reunification with her child. However, we have come across a barrier that this mother is facing. As part of her treatment plan and reunification, she has to attend several appointments (doctors, therapists, psychiatrists, etc.). She is struggling to get onto EIA disability. In order to get to these appointments, she needs transportation. The agency is no longer able to support her with bus passes, and the amount that was allotted is insufficient for her to meet all her appointments. Therefore, I am asking for help for this mother for the next two months, with the hopes that her EIA benefits will have kicked in, and can help her with the cost of bus passes. Thank you!

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
Hello, I have a family of 3 in my case load. They recently moved from Portage la Prairie. The parent is a single mom with 2 teenage sons age 16 and 14. The family moved to Winnipeg, hoping for a fresh start, but has been experiencing economic difficulties. Mom is still in the process of reinstating her EIA benefits and mainly relies on the children benefits for day-to-day needs. The agency is also providing support via a food voucher but its barely enough to purchase for groceries. Mom shared that she also sought support from other organizations like Jordan Principle but nothing materialized due to funding cuts.
The family is seeking support to help with furniture. They are currently renting a home, but are missing key items to make their living space feel comfortable. The family currently does not have the following: a small couch and a book shelf or shelving unit for the living room. The family have also been trying to secure items from Centre Flavie but has not been lucky with obtaining those items.
I am requesting the kind generosity of community members. I strongly believe that having adequate furniture would make a significant impact to the health and well-being of every family members living in the home. Thank you for your consideration. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any questions. Please note: The correct postal code is R3E. Apr 9 -- Couch donated but need help moving it.

Support an Expecting Mom and Her Unborn Baby
Hi, I have a client who's expecting her first child due May 10, 2025. Her and her partner are very excited for their baby but are facing a lot of financial difficulties. Her partner was without employment for quite a long period of time but has just recently got a job! Since this is their first baby they have a lot of items yet to be purchased and are working with quite a small budget. They're requesting help with an infant car seat and stroller combo. This would allow them to bring baby home safely from the hospital as well as have the ability to get around by foot or bus. They would be more than grateful for any type of help offered to them. Thank you for your consideration.

Support an Expecting Mom and Her Unborn Baby
Our client is new to Canada and came here because she had to flee from an abusive relationship in her home Country in Africa. She is alone and pregnant. She is due to have a C-section for sure by April 14th if not sooner. She is in need of a car seat/stroller combo to be able to bring baby home from hospital. And also because public transit is her only option for getting around, the stroller is needed as well. She is so lovely and will be so grateful for any help.

Help Reunify a Bio Family
A single mom has been working hard the last 2 years with programming and was recently reunified with her (almost) 3 year old daughter. Mom will be moving on April 1st from outside of the city into her own home with her daughter to start a new life. Mom has no financial supports and very limited resources, so is starting from scratch. She recently found a bed and couch for herself, and would greatly appreciate a few items to make her house a home for the two of them. She is requesting a toddler bed, dresser, a kitchen table with 2 chairs, and a coffee table.
Note that besides the move date, the writer of this request will be away March 21- April 1st, so responders can please contact WCFS Agency Rep Debbie Smith for any questions.

April 2: UPDATE: Mom has secured a kitchen table and chairs, so please remove from the request :-)
April 11 update: if unable to find a toddler bed, a twin bed would be just as appreciated. Thank you!

Help Reunify a Bio Family
This request is to help a single mother who has been recently reunified with her children after having them in agency care for two years. She attended a treatment program for a year and half and having completed her treatment program, her children have been returned to her care. She recently moved to her own place and has almost nothing for the family apart from the beds that the agency bought for the children while they were in care.
