My client is a young mother who has successfully reunified with her son after a two year reunification process. For two years my client has fought for her son to come home and has succeeded. My client's son was returned to her care and they are both happy to be together again. Mother is a dedicated, loving, and caring mother who is working hard to provide her son with the best quality of life. We are asking for your support in assisting mother with some essentials and other items she would like for her son. Mom is asking for a twin size bed set (frame, headboard, and mattress) now that her son is turning 4 and outgrowing his toddler bed. She is asking for paw patrol bedding which is her sons favorite characters. I have provided links to the actual items that Mother is interested in. https://www.amazon.com/Nickelodeon-Patrol-Super-Bedding-Action/dp/B07TSQSLGY/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=paw+patrol+bed+set&qid=1620326642&s=home-garden&sr=1-5 https://www.amazon.com/Circular-Waterproof-Standing-Organizer-Children/dp/B093SRT3SH/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1PLUUUIIALT2I&dchild=1&keywords=paw%2Bpatrol%2Blaundry%2Bhamper&qid=1620326726&sprefix=paw%2Bpatrol%2Blaundry%2B%2Cgarden%2C228&sr=8-3&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/Delta-Children-Chairs-Included-Patrol/dp/B00YGHFL4S/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=paw+patrol+table+and+chairs&qid=1620326824&sr=8-1 https://www.amazon.com/Honey-Can-Do-SRT-01602-Organizer-Storage-Natural/dp/B00302ICKU/ref=sr_1_19?dchild=1&keywords=toy+organizer&qid=1620326860&sr=8-19 https://www.amazon.com/Booooom-Jackson-Collection-Educational-Classroom/dp/B07V372G7B/ref=sr_1_21?dchild=1&keywords=ABC+rug&qid=1620326918&sr=8-21 https://www.amazon.com/Nickelodeon-Patrol-Bicycle-Training-12-Inch/dp/B00W28QPAW/ref=sr_1_39?dchild=1&keywords=toddler+bike&qid=1620326963&sr=8-39 https://www.amazon.com/EWEIS-HomeWares-23x25x11-Inch-Organizer-Bookshelf/dp/B01JGKLLPC/ref=dp_fod_1?pd_rd_i=B01JGKLLPC&psc=1

Working with a single mother who was abandoned by her child's father after being moved to Los Angles. The family was living outside of the city when he requested they move here. 2 months later he left the apartment one morning and never returned. In that time she fell behind on her rent due to the sudden need to replace his income. She is working more now and has enough to cover the current rent but doesn't have the extra income to repay the back rent ($1900). She has $900 in savings she can put towards it but needs help offsetting the cost ($1000). We're looking for someone to assist her in getting current so she doesn't lose the home..

Help Reunify a Bio Family
2
Critical Request
Please help reunify a family. My client is a strong, resilient, loving mother who is currently fighting to reunify with her 3 month old son. Mother has worked hard to be able to provide for her son even from a distance and prioritizes every chance she gets to see him. The court has ordered weekly visits with her son (3x a week) and we are requesting transportation assistance to help Mother make her visits. Currently, to visit her son, mother has to catch 3 buses there and back and does not always have enough money to cover the fare. I am requesting a $500 Lyft or Uber gift card so that mom can make her visits. This amount will cover visits (3x a week) up until her next hearing.

Help Prevent a Child From Entering Foster Care

High Urgency Request
CSW Tapscott received a referral for an African American family; in which the mother had extensive DCFS history. In fact, the mother’s rights were terminated for her four children. During the current investigation it was discovered that mother had turned her life around and was caring for her 5 year old child with special needs after the father who had full custody of the child passed away. With the help of PGM, the court’s granted PGM and Mother joint legal and physical custody of the child. During the pandemic, Mother took on full responsibility of caring for the child due to PGM’s age and inability to assist the child with online/virtual school and challenges surrounding the child’s behavior. Mother and the child are unable to reside with PGM because they are not on PGM’s section 8 voucher and unable to reside with MGM for various reasons. Mother has been using her government assistance to stay in different Motels which is not sustainable for the amount money mother receives. DCFS has linked mother to housing resources. However, we have been unsuccessful in securing housing for the mother and child, at this time. Mother needs immediate assistance. In the interim of securing permanent housing, DCFS is requesting 2400.00 dollars to pay for 4 months of rent to a transitional housing program mother located by calling 211(community information and resource hotline established in July 2000 by the FCC Federal Communication Commission). The 2400.00 will cover the family’s rent for 4 months 600.00/monthly for 4 months which will be paid directly to the landlord. Please note that the Children’s Social Worker will be conducted a walkthrough of the Transitional Housing facility on Monday, May 3rd. Mother is currently on a waiting list for housing through another agency. DCFS also submitted paperwork to Section 8 and is awaiting a response. The number one goal is to keep this mother and child together and with your help and DCFS oversight, this goal can be met.

Mom is a full-time student at Southwest Jr. College and a semester away from graduating with her Associates Degree, during her best and being a single mother of 3 children, ages 5, 3, and 5 months old. At the time of enrollment, her children had been detained by DCFS. Mom followed her court mandated orders of parenting classes, domestic violence classes, and individual therapy. In August of 2020, mom reunified with her children and has now moved from a single into a two-bedroom with her children. Due to attending school this families' income is limited, after paying for basic essentials, reoccurring bills, and rent, mom is left with barely any money to last the remaining of the month. During our most recent visit Mom expressed a need to obtain a few home items and new clothing for her growing children. By receiving these items, the family can fill a need for basic home essentials, maintain their well-being and mom can focus on her children and education without the worries of purchasing basic needs with her limited budget

Mom lost her job due to Covid-19 and has not been able to find a stable job in over a year. Mom is the only provider for her family and stated that she has fallen behind on her rent and utility bills due to her financial struggles. Mom has an open DCFS case, she has 3 children the youngest is a 22 month baby who is special needs and receiving therapy at their home. Mom is very stressed due to her situation. If the family gets evicted, her children’s well-being is in jeopardy and she will be out of compliance with DCFS. If mom receives financial support to pay her rent and bills, she will be in compliance with DCFS, and able to keep her children in the home. Mother's stress will be reduced, and mom can begin working for the temp agency. If family receives assistance, she will be able to sustain future rent, mom starts work at a Temporary Agency, and receives CALWorks, additionally the 19 year old started a full time job. I have the rental agreement and the utility bill. The financial assistance will give her a jumpstart. Thank you so much for all of the assistance.

During the month of March, Mom received a lead for a rental unit in the city of Compton within her budget. As of last week Mom was able to share the news that she was able to obtain the apartment and the family has also moved in. Because the family remained in transitional housing for the past 2 years they have limited essentials in their new home. Mom shared that the family is in need of the following items for their home: a couch, end tables, a mop, towels (body and wash cloths, pots, pans, utensils, step stool, kitchen table, bathroom set, first aid kit, and floor lamp. In addition, Mom also shared that her both of her children, and herself, have outgrown most of the clothing they current possess and are in need of clothing items: Access to the mentioned home and clothing essentials will allow the family to fill a need and reduce stress and worry about limited finances. Mom shared that she wants to show her children what a home can look by modeling an environment of safety, comfort and most essential love.
