Critical Request
This youth we support is a CSEC identified 15 year old who was initially staying with her grandmother in a shelter until grandmother was hospitalized and is now unable to care for the child. The youth is currently staying with a friend in order to still attend school until her grandmother is released from the hospital. Youth is worried about being able to afford food and as a youth impacted by exploitation, her team is concerned and wants to provide solutions to reduce the likelihood of her becoming a victim in order to meet her basic needs. We are asking for gift cards that would allow for this youth to be able to purchase food (either fast food or groceries since food storage is limited at the shelter) that would provide for herself, as well as her grandmother once she is discharged from the hospital. Anything helps!

This single parent mother has recently successfully reunified with her 3 minor children. They share a bedroom in the home of a family member and are in need of bunkbeds. The mother is hard working and doing all she can to provide for the family's needs. Helping her secure bunkbeds would be a very big help to her and the children.

High Urgency Request
The caregiver has been caring for a sibling group of four children with meager funds she receives through tribal TANF. Although the caregiver is having some financial challenges, the caregiver is committed to keeping the children together. At this time, the caregiver has secured a Section 8 Housing voucher and approved for a four-bedroom apartment. However, the caregiver has no funds to furnish the apartment. The caregiver would benefit from these essential items in order for her new home to pass inspection. As of today, the Court granted the caregiver until 08/18/22 to furnish her apartment. Furthermore, during my work with the caregiver, I have identified the following strengths: love of the children she is caring for in particular, and the ability to meet the children’s special needs. The caregiver’s goals are to keep the children together and provide them with a stable and safe home environment. For this reason, I am advocating for the caregiver to have the need identified met. The main reason I am requesting this need to be fulfilled is that the children are at risk of being removed from the person they love and call “Grandma.” Please see Walmart.com for estimated costs.

Local police reported that there was recently a car-to-car shooting. The suspects chased each other in their cars and one ended up colliding and totaling a parked pick-up truck. The truck was owned by a father, who is a long time community member, a landscaper, and sole provider for his family of 5. Since his truck was totaled, the collision has left him without means to get to work and support his family. The father is desperate to get another pick-up truck type of vehicle as he needs it for his landscaping work. He and his wife have 3 children and appreciate any assistance for a work vehicle and other immediate needs.
