A mother and her three child are in need of beds. Mother has a bed but her 3 child don't. Mother fell on some bad times and lost her kids beds during a move. Mother is in need of two twin beds and a toddler bed. Mother works full time but in in the saving process of getting back out on her own. Mother is not able to buy the items at this time.

I've got a family of 7, 2 of the children have twin sized mattresses but the other 3 children do not have beds. Both parents work just need a little assistance on getting beds for the children.

A 7 month old baby boy is in need of a crib and bedding. Child is in a pack-in-play right now. Placement is willing to adopt him so he has his forever home. Placement is in need of a crib and placement is not able to buy one due to caring for him full time.

I am working with an aunt who recently took in her nephews (ages 4 and 5) after her mother (the boys placement/guardian) passed away in February. We had purchased a bed for the boys when they were initially placed with grandmother, but since her passing the family is unsure what happened to the bed. Since DCS cannot purchase another one, I am asking the Care Portal to provide a full bed for this family. Aunt is doing a great job of meeting the boys needs and ensuring they are loved and supported through this difficult time, after losing their grandmother. DCS has had an open case with a family since 2023 where the children were removed. One of the children has been reunited with bio mom on a trial home visit, she has another child who comes home to start trial home visit later this Month, and she just gave birth to another baby girl. Mom is doing really well and also purchased beds and toys for the kids coming home but purchasing the beds financially hit her hard, especially just having a new baby to also care for. Mom stated the only thing she needs for when her other child comes home is a dresser but she does not have the financial means to purchase one. Mom has everything needed for the baby but stated the only thing she does not have is a baby bath. When CarePortal was mentioned to her she was so excited and stated she would be extremely grateful for any assistance to show her kids she has a safe and happy home.

This family consists of a single mother of 3 children. The family consists of two girls and 1 boy ranging from 7-9 years old. The family recently moved into a new home to ensure the safety and stability of the children. They have exhausted community resources in obtaining items to furnish the home and were able to obtain 3 twin bed frames for all 3 of the children but are still in need of 3 twin mattresses for the children.

Grandmother has placement of her 8 year old granddaughter. She is placed in Kokomo from another state and is supposed to receive monthly assistance; however, she has not received any assistance yet. Grandmother is on disability and has very little money left over after paying rent, utilities, etc. They are low on food. She has applied for Food Stamps but has not received any news that she will be qualified or not. Granddaughter is also sleeping on a toddler bed but it is too small. She needs a twin size bed, mattress, and bedding. Child is allergic to shrimp and shellfish. Child likes Cinnamon Roll character from Hello Kitty. This assistance will help maintain the placement.

A family of 6 was recently separated from their mother due to inadequate home resources. The siblings, have been in various placements, but separated from each other. Two of the youngest boys, 11 and 12 have recently been disrupted from their long term placement. Kinship placement of their brother (14) has come forward and is willing to make accommodations to help with placement of the two boys. Both of the kiddos are hilarious, bright spirited children, they love being with their family and feel safe with their older brother. To make this placement possible, they need beds. For the three siblings to live comfortably together we are needing help with a bunk bed (twin) and another twin bed for the oldest child. The children have a strong bond together and if we can help with this request, we can maintain that bond closer than they have been able to.

Paternal Aunt has placement of her 15-year-old niece. Her niece has a history of suicidal ideation and self-harm. She has previously taken her mother's medication to school and reported taking approximately twenty unprescribed pills. Paternal aunt reported she keeps medication in a medicine cabinet but cannot ensure the child will not have access to it. A medical lock box is needed to ensure all medication is safely stored and to decrease concerns of another suicide attempt.

Maternal grandmother has placement of her 9-year-old granddaughter. Maternal grandmother is needing assistance buying a pole and buoy. Maternal grandmother has a large pond right outside of her home. Maternal grandmother reports the child likes to play outside with her friends. These items can ensure water safety in case of an emergency.

Grandparents are placement for their 2 granddaughters, ages 9 and 10. They are requesting assistance with clothing and shoes. The sizes are below

9-year-old clothing: 7/8 9-year-old shoes: 1 10-year-old clothing: 10/12 10-year-old shoes: 5.5

This request would assist in two cases that form part of one case opened due to domestic violence (separated cases due to different mothers). A mother will be getting placement of her biological son and two stepdaughters. Mother has just found a stable living situation and will be moving into a home for her and the children this week. DCS is requesting three twin beds for the children, so that the home is ready once they start with their mother/stepmother. Thank you.
