A local family of five is in urgent need of support. Veronica and her husband are hardworking parents of three children. Recently, the family experienced a medical crisis that caused a serious financial setback. Veronica’s husband was hospitalized for nearly two weeks due to a severe gallbladder infection and complications in his lungs. The first hospital the family went to refused to oeprate on the father, so they seeked help elsewhere. He was able to undergo surgery at another facility, but was out of work for over a month due to his infection and illness. During this time, the mother also became ill and was unable to work as well. She has now recovered and is working full-time at a local daycare, doing everything she can to get back on track. However, during the period of hardships and unemployment, the family of 5 fell behind on their Georgia Power bill and owes $300. This family is doing their best to regain stability, but they need help to bridge this gap. Any support would be a tremendous blessing.

A relative caregiver is needing assistance with getting a car seat and size 4T-5T pull ups for the 3-year-old cousin that was placed in their care. The child was placed in their home in the past month, and they were given a car seat that will need to be given back to the case manager. Once a car seat is received, the caregivers will not have the concerns of not having proper arrangements for travel. The pull ups are needed as well for the child, diapers are usually provided by the kinship navigator, however, their storage is currently out of that size. Due to the caregivers’ other expenses of formula and other necessities for the children, if assistance can be provided for getting pull ups, this will help alleviate any financial strain. Any assistance is appreciated

Pike DHR is working with a 17 year old girl, who just graduated from high school. Her mother left her and her sister alone and went to another state. She is currently staying with a member of the community. This child is working this summer to save up money for her cosmetology school kit. The kit is $600, and she has saved up everything except $325. She is attending the Troy School of Cosmetology. She is asking for the remaining balance so she can start school in the fall.

Help a Student Start 9th Grade with Confidence, as he’s faced years of academic struggles, behavioral challenges, and uncertainty- until his recent ADHD diagnosis finally brought clarity. His single mother, raising six children on her own, has been supported him juggling school meetings, doctor visits, and daily responsibilities, all while keeping hope alive for her children’s futures. Now, with the right medical support, he’s finally on the path to success. But, in order to continue progressing he will need glasses as his vision is not clear. With the first day of school just around the corner, we’re seeking a $200 pledge to cover the cost of an eye exam and prescription glasses through our trusted, discounted partner on Atlanta’s Upper Westside. These glasses may seem small- but to this student, they represent focus, confidence, and the chance to finally thrive. The glasses are also necessary as he is beginning his academic individualized education plan. Your support can make a life changing difference for his education.
