I have been working with a single father of two children ages 4 and 6. The father is working to make ends meet but is having a hard time. The family has been connected to Path II services through Lindsay Family Resource Center for food and cleaning supplies. The father has minimal food for the children due to not having a bigger refrigerator. The family has a mini refrigerator that is not able to provide store the food for the family. The children and the father will benefit from a bit bigger fridge.

Seeking assistance for an adult brother who received placement of his two younger sisters. Due to brother having limited funds, he is requesting assistance with obtaining 2 twin beds. In order to preserve placement each child would need to have their own bed. Once each child has their own bed, the home inspection will be approved. This help would be greatly appreciated as this will help preserve a stable placement for the dependent children.

The Agency has a single mother of two young girls ages 10 and 11. The mother is having some difficult financial situations at this time. The mother recently was in a car accident and is without a vehicle and currently is reliant on bus transportation for her children to get to school. The mother has had additional financial difficulties, paying her bills and paying her rent. The mother recently advised the family is low on groceries and does not expect to get food stamp assistance until the seventh of the month. The two children are also in need of new clothing as they’ve outgrown most of their clothing. The mother is seeking assistance with clothing and groceries at this time. Any assistance to this family will be greatly appreciated and will definitely assist in maintaining this family as one unit. Thank you.

We can help with $500 worth of food and clothing. Would gift cards or physical items be best since this family does not have transportation? Feel free to share contact info. Thanks.

Child Welfare Services Social Worker, is working with a two parent household with a 15 year old male who is diagnosed with down syndrome, oppositional defiant disorder, hypothyroidism, hashimoto's disease, and is mostly nonverbal. The child has been progressing in school and learning to communicate on an Apple iPad. The child uses the app Proloquo to select the appropriate icon to communicate words through the iPad to his teacher. His teacher is highly impressed with his ability to navigate the iPad, however the child only uses the iPad when he is at school. The father works fulltime, the mother also works however it is not stable employment. Given the current economic times and the high cost for such electronic devices the family does not have the extra funds to purchase an iPad for the child to have at home. The family will appreciate any help with a used or new Apple iPad of any style/series, as they would be able to communicate more effectively with each other.

Claire:
With $ from the community partner, we can help get this child an iPad. I have located a gently used iPad 6th Generation that will be able to run this app. Does the family also need a subscription to Proloquo? Please share family contact, thank you!

The agency is currently working with a relative caregiver who had moved into the children's home to be their child provider so that all eight (8) children would remain in their home, school of origin, and keep all siblings together in placement. The children range in age from 17 to 7. There are two males and six females. Due to unforeseen issues, the parents requested to have their home back, leaving the relative caregiver to look for another home to rent that would house all eight children. The relative caregiver found a place, however, was informed the parents do not want her taking the children's bed, so the relative caregiver is in need of two twin mattresses (already has frames) for the children in order to remain in placement with her. Helping provide this will ensure the children remain in care with their relative caregiver and together.

A 33 year old father has had issues with transportation. Although the father uses the bus, he is still tardy to visits. The father has been observed to need another form of transportation such as a bike. The father has stated he will be able to be punctual if he had a bike. With a bike he will be able to not miss time with his 12 year old child. The bus has a certain schedule that sometimes doesn't match the father's which is inconvenient.

Two siblings (10 year old male and 9 year old female) have been enrolled in jiu jitsu. These children have improved their mental health by participating in therapy. After one year of therapy the children have become more confident, open, and positive. These children suffer from PTSD due to physical abuse. The children's grandmother has encouraged the children to explore activities such as track, art, and after school activities. At this time, the grandmother allowed the children to try out for jiu jitsu and the children loved it! The children's therapist have stated jiu jitsu was a great way to develop mental and physical strength. However, the grandmother could only afford enrollment for both children and not the uniforms. The children will be unable to participate with out the uniforms. The children would be very happy and grateful if assisted with purchasing their uniform.

Are the children planning on sleeping in the same bed therefore only one bed is needed? Would they be able to
fit two queen beds? And is it a whole
toilet needed, or just the seat? Please provide contact info for the family so I can arrange funding for the bed through Bob’s Furniture, Visalia (they require beneficiary’s address and name in their funding application process).

The children were placed in foster care as it was reported the mother was having mental breakdowns and leaving the children unattended, it was later reported that the parents were engaging in acts of domestic violence and using crystal methamphetamines. The father has been showing great growth and progress through the past months. He has attended all supervised visits with the children and has kept constant communication with the agency. Due to this, the father will be transitioning to unsupervised/ overnight visits with the children, the father is an agriculture worker and in need of assistance with bunkbeds as the children would need a bed to sleep in. The children are very excited to begin this new visit with being able to be in the father's home and spend time with him. The children are 2, 6, 7, and 8 years old. (2 girls, 2 boys)

We will provide all items needed for this family. We would like to know the ages of the 2 girls and 2 boy so we can provide age appropriate bedding. Does the father speak english or will we need an interperter?
The family is going through financial hardship. The mother was not able to attend the medical appointments for her newborn due to gas money. The mother is doing her best to be attentive to the needs of her two (2) year old child and newborn. The family would greatly benefit from a gas card. In addition, the family does not have a functioning AC unit in the home. As the weather gets warmer, the family could really use a portable or window AC unit. The family would really appreciate these requests!
