I have a family who is currently in an emergency housing situation. The family consists of a single mom with three children. The student is in 8th grade on my campus, but he also has a brother in 12th grade, and a brother that is too young for school. The family was just evicted from their housing situation, and they are staying at a hotel with no mode of transportation or funds. The family is in need of 200.00 dollars to be able to stay in a two bedroom hotel room for the week while they figure out a more permanent option. As of right now, both students are unable to attend school and all four family members are sharing one hotel room. The family's need is very urgent. Any assistance that can be offered is greatly appreciated.
I have a mother of a 14 year old, who is in desperate need of food. The family has been homeless for over 18 months. We have paid for them to be in a hotel for two weeks. Mom receives disability and her girlfriend does work, but they currently do not have any money. They are trying to find a local food bank to go to, but they do not have a car, and do not have any money for transportation. We have not found any that will transport food to them yet. They had food stamps up until the last month, but they did not renew the application before their benefits expired. They have since reapplied and are waiting for them to be approved. The food will need to be dropped off to them.
Looking for help for a fictive kin placement who is taking permanent custody of two children, but is needing help with daycare to maintain permanent care. Due to a freeze in state funding for daycare, the family cannot get help from the state to fund the daycare. The two young children are under 5 and are very happy and comfortable in the home. They are well taken care of and the caretaker can afford to meet their daily needs while working full time, but cannot afford to also pay for daycare. Without daycare they would not be able to work and afford to take care of the kids whom they love dearly and want to keep out of the foster care system. This family is hoping for help from the community to assist with daycare for at least the next six months until they can get further daycare. The cost of daycare is extremely high for all families in today's world and we are hopeful that those who are able will help contribute to meeting these children's needs. The daycare that they attend helps them with learning educationally and with social skills. The total cost of daycare without assistance for the two children is about $2,300 a month. For six months to be fully covered, they would need $13,800
We are supporting a single mom who has 2 children already in her home (ages 3&5) and is willing to taken in her 5 year old niece as a kinship placement. In order to meet the state requirements for this placement, she needs a bunk bed with a trundle bed with it, so that all three children can share a room.
She also needs a slim high back booster seat for her niece to be able to fit with the seats of her other two children.
Please help this family accept the placement of their niece/cousin.
17 year old teen mom is in need of laptop in order to complete high school. Youth is enrolled in a nom-traditional school setting that will support youth in graduating high school on time. Youth has fallen behind in school due to being a mom and student simultaneously. Youth is an amazing mother and really tries hard to succeed. A laptop will further help youth reach her academic goals in order to further support her transition out of foster care.
Young mother and father with two children (2-year-old boy, 4-month-old boy) are needing help to maintain home for their small children. Children needs clothing and beds. (2-year-old needs size 2t)
The kinship caregivers are requesting a convertible car seat for the youngest female child that CPS has placed in their care. This 22-month-old is growing quickly and will soon outgrow her current car seat. The ideal car seat would hold a child with the weight of up to 90/100 lbs. The family stated they were also looking for a highchair and/or toddler seat that would fit onto a kitchen chair. This will allow the family to properly feed the child without holding her while they are attempting to eat. The family has been very diligent in meeting the children's needs and are only lacking these two items. At this time the family does not qualify for kinship funds so these items would be very much appreciated if they are able to be supplied.
Our fully accredited high school is in need of insulated water bottles for students. This will free up financial resources to meet true student needs rather than having to purchase drinking cups and throw them away. Each student could have their own water bottle. We provide full wrap around case management for our students, many of which face homelessness and have poor to no relationships with caring adults.
Our fully accredited high school provides full wrap around case management services for our 27 students, many of which face homelessness and lack of positive adult relationships. As part of our school, lunches are provided and we have a need for 24 oz insulated water bottles so that each student can have their own. This would allow us to put money spent on drinking cups to true student needs.
Hello,
I have a single mother with 4 kids that are in desperate need of a bunk bed and two twin size mattresses. Mom was just approved for housing and is in need of furniture.
Thank you kindly!
Summary: Family of middle school student requesting help with groceries and utility bills.
Context: Student comes from a single-parent household, where Mom is a dedicated educator struggling to make ends meet. In the past, the family has struggled with stable housing, but through their hard work and determination, they have improved their situation significantly. However, the start of school has put a strain on their resources, and they are needing help with groceries and their electricity bill. If this need was met even partially, it would help both the student and Mom maintain the stability and wellbeing they have worked so hard to achieve.
There is a single mother with with twins who have recently got her children returned to her. The case is currently on a monitor to return and we are hoping to avoid removing the children again. The mother is months behind on rent and could possibly be evicted soon if she does not make payment. The mother does not have any financial assistance from her family and is trying to do everything on her own. Financial assistance with her rent can help prevent a removal of the children and them coming back into foster care.
A kinship caregiver took on the needs of a 2-year-old little boy in order to keep him with his older sibling. This kinship caregiver took in these kids with a house full of kids of her own already. She is limited on space and is having kids share beds right now. Due to the increase in kids, funds are allocated to maintain the basic needs and function of the family, food, and education. She is looking at obtaining a bunk bed to help our kids have their own bed and be able to feel like individuals and sleep well at night. This will help immensely and she will be grateful for any help.

The family is involved in a domestic violence situation, which has caused a lot of financial strain. Mother is in the process of starting to gain financial independence after this DV situation.
Family could use food support and financial assistance.
The family consist of 2 boys, ages 12 and 16. There is also an 11 year old girl in the home.
We had a mother come in this afternoon (8/29) sharing that her and her two children (elementary and middle- GCISD) will be evicted tomorrow (8/30) if they do not come up with the rent for the past 3 months. We are looking into trying to get them temporary housing while they try to get into a more permanent situation. Hotel/motel vouchers would be super helpful. The mother has had her car repossessed by the bank and is now borrowing from someone. She would benefit from a gas card in the mean time to get to her new job.
