A Single mom and her two children have been approved to move into a transitional housing unit after years of unstable housing. This will be the first "safe" living environment this family unit has experienced and Mom is beyond excited. This family has no extra income to purchase needed supplies for their home. Request is for a Walmart gift card so the family can purchase mattress protectors and bedding sets.

Mom and her two children who are have been living between unstable housing situations for several years have been approved for a year long transitional housing unit. This unit is unfurnished and the family has no extra income to furnish or purchase supplies. Many of the household items can be found through community partners through donation, however it would mean a great deal for this family to have brand new mattresses to sleep on. This kinship provider is in need of some financial assistance with groceries. There are multiple kiddos in the home and the provider could use some support. Any help is appreciated!!

We have a bio mother who is in need of a phone and minutes for the phone. $100.00) She needs the phone in order to communicate with her professional team and engage in services. She also needs this to confirm visitations with her four children that are currently in foster care.

We have a bio father in need of financial assistance with a gas gift card. He just started a new job and it will be 2 weeks before he receives his first paycheck. He lives out in Midway and needs to be able to get to and from work here in Colorado Springs. Maintaining his job is an important step in working on his plan for reunification with his 4 children that are in foster care at this time.

This is for a single mother home who has two twin children ages 8, that have severe autism. The family has had a lot of struggles financially recently due to the mother not being able to work as she had to stay home to meet some medical needs of one of the children. There is more support in the works but until then, would like to help this family get back on their feet until additional services can be put into place. Due to the mother being limited on being able to take the children outside of the home due to behaviors, there is little social support or community involved for the family. The children are in need of diapers, size 5 for the female and size 7 for the male. They could also use some gift cards for groceries; the mom has said that Walmart is a good option as it will go further.

Grandparents took in their granddaughter due to mom's substance use concerns. Grandparents already care for moms 4 other children whom they all have custody of. They are requesting a baby swing for the baby as they were not prepared to have another baby in the home and financially, they are not able to purchase everything the baby needs.

I am working with a family that has three teenage boys who are in need of dressers to store clothing in. The family has a current open assessment for a domestic violence incident and the mom is currently unemployed and going to start culinary school in June (2nd). The boys are in need of storage for their clothing due to the previous dressers being broken. Due to space/capacity of the children's room, two drawers would suffice. I am seeking financial support to help fund driving lessons and a driver’s test through Drive Safe Driving School for a resilient 19-year-old young adult who hasn’t had the opportunity to learn the essential skill of driving due to significant life barriers. This young man, his mother, and 11 year old brother have been living in a temporary unstable housing situation in rural Douglas County. Transportation options are severely limited. His mother does not have a valid dritver’s license, and there are no family or friends available to teach him how to drive. This young adult has navigated life under the weight of chronic instability and poverty. Getting to essential services is a constant challenge and vital resources like food pantries are often inaccessible. Despite challenges, this young man is working closely with community services and making great strides toward independence. He is committed to earning his GED, having been disconnected from the education system since 8th grade, and he is highly motivated to gain stable employment. The opportunity to drive would be life-changing: it would open doors to jobs, education, and essential services, while also giving him a sense of dignity and self-worth that comes from achieving a goal so many of his peers take for granted. Financial funding may contribute to giving a young adult who has faced overwhelming obstacles a real chance at building a stable and successful future.

I'm working with a family with 2 children in the home. Mom is disabled and we are working to get SSI or SSDI services set up currently. She has also applied for Aid to the Needy and disabled. All of these programs can sometimes take extensive time to be approved and for benefits to be issued. Mom has a housing voucher so the rent is covered, but the father of the children was previously paying child support which mom was using for their water bill primarily. The father of the children has stopped paying child support and mom has been in contact with the child support division, but their process could take extended time as well. There is one other adult in the home, the oldest son of mom. He has been unable to find steady work as well. Requirements for maintaining housing voucher with Denver Housing Authority include payment of utilities or mom could lose housing. Mom owed $419.01, but case worker and mom called Denver Water together and were able to have late fees removed from the bill bringing it down to $391.84. Any help is greatly appreciated, as I understand this is a large request. Mom understands she will need to set-up a payment plan for any remaining balance. This family has experienced homelessness previously and was very fortunate to get the housing voucher they have. We are hoping to not lose it now. Thank you in advance!

I am currently working with a teen who has gone through many traumas in her life, starting as a baby, who is now facing more adversity. This teenager has been working very hard in her education, her mental health, and substance use treatment and has even been awarded employee of the month at her job this past month. This teen has been through a lot + is still facing a lot and her accomplishments deserve to be celebrated. This request is for a $50 gift card to target for the teen to know her hard work doesn't go unnoticed and to be able to celebrate her success in treatment and her employee of the month award while going through difficult emotional and legal tasks.

A single mother and her two children recently moved into their first apartment alone. Her children are 9 and 2. The nine-year-old has significant mental health needs and has a seizure disorder. His sister is in need of a bed frame and only has a mattress currently. The mother is requesting a dining table for their kitchen, a toddler size bed frame, two dressers for the children's clothes, and any seating options. There are significant financial barriers due to unemployment and the family does not have transportation.
