A single mom needs two car seats. She is trying to get her children back from the children's grandmother. The single moms car seats were thrown away by the children's grandmother because she said they were not clean. This single mom is trying to get car seats so that when the children can come home, hopefully next week, she will have a safe way to transport them. She has made mistakes and has owned up to them and has been working hard to do all the things she needs to get the children back. This single mom is working on finishing her GED, looking for a job, and better place to live to start over to make her children's lives better.

Family is in need of A/C home unit, family was in the process of getting repairs fixed in the home but had put a pause on those repairs because of the A/C unit went out. This is a home unit not a window unit needed. The value needed is actually $5000 estimate.

A single mother of 4 in an apartment without a full kitchen is looking for ways to meal prep easy, healthy meals for the week. With the use of an air fryer and or crockpot the mother would be able to cook healthier meals in larger quantities for her family.

This request is being made on behalf of a single mother of four children who were scheduled to move into an apartment complex in mid-April. When moving in, the family noted a foul odor throughout the apartment and discovered large areas of the carpeting covered in animal urine. After pulling up the carpeting and padding, it appears that large portions of the carpet, padding, and subfloor are stained by urine and possible mold to the degree that Stanley Steamer declined to clean the carpeting. The apartment complex has refused to replace the carpet and padding and has told the family they can pay to replace the carpet or they can have their security deposit and rent already paid back. The family has no other place to live, must be out of the current home on May 31, and has an exemplary record of past tenancy in our community.

Client lives in Lynchburg with her 3 children. She is currently out of work until the end of May when she begins her job. Her husband is currently incarcerated. Although she starts her job next week, it will be a few weeks before she gets paid. She really needs assistance with her car and rental insurance, which is due on 5/20 or she will lose her insurance policy. She also could use some help with food! This is a family we helped before with a basketball goal.

If possible, this grandmother is looking for a "scholarship/sponsor," for her grandson who she has custody of to attend Roanoke County's Basketball camp over the summer for a week. It is $275.00.

The student has never attended a "summer camp," he is hoping to work on his skills so that he can establish some positive peer relationships, make new friends, and connections.

Payments can be made directly to the program in honor of the student.

An older woman has recently taken in a small baby, and is in need of assistance with feeding and caring for the child. Due to a lack of established custody, it is difficult for the caretaker to obtain benefits for the child. By assisting now, it allows time to strengthen this placement, without the child having to enter foster care.

A grandmother caring for her three grandchildren, aged 3, 2, and 1, requires installation of two new windows in her residence, as the current windows are non-operational and pose safety concerns in the event of fire or emergency. Thank you for your assistance.

Single mother who currently does not have an income and has very limited supports needs diapers, laundry detergent, and toilet paper for herself and her one year old daughter. The child is in size 3 diapers and is sensitive to some diaper brands. Brands the child can tolerate for diapers are pampers and parent choice. Specifically gain laundry detergent and dryer sheets were requested, due to sensitive skin. If possible, the client also requested Downy Light scent beads for laundry that the child may accidently soil. For the toilet paper, the client requests it is thick. The client has limited transportation so tangible items may be best however a gift card is acceptable as well. Thank you.

A mother of four, is at imminent risk of losing her housing due to a delinquent water utility account. A lease violation notice was issued on March 2, 2025, advising the tenant of the need to resolve the outstanding balance and restore water service. Per the terms outlined in the lease violation, if water service is not paid and fully restored by June 1, 2025, eviction proceedings will be initiated. The tenant has sought financial assistance through local organizations and was informed that a pledge would be made on her behalf. However, as of the current date, no pledge or payment has been applied to the account. • Amount pass due: $342.77 • May bill (due May 21, 2025): $114.47 • Total amount currently due: $457.24 Immediate intervention is necessary to prevent displacement and further hardship for this family. I have a single mother who currently in between employment. She recently had her children returned to her home/care full time after an out of home placement. She reports that the family member that had the children did not return any of the clothing to her that belonged to the children. She has been utilizing the same couple outfits for the children for the week.
