She has been unable to work full-time this month due to prioritizing her children's critical-need issues. Her 2 oldest children have not been able to find a job for themselves to help with the bills. This family was living in hotels before getting their current apartment 2 months ago. The family and their service providers would hate to see them end up living in a hotel again. This household consists of two adults and eight children, ages ranging from 5 months to 13 years. Of the eight children, the six youngest remain placed in the home. This past week, the family's water was shut off due to unpaid utility bills. One parent has been unable to work and is in the process of applying for disability, the other recently began a new job, but does not yet have enough saved to cover the entire water bill. At this time, there is a remaining unpaid balance of approximately $595. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I am working with a family—single mother and her two children—who are in need of clothing and some hygiene products. This parent has struggled with maintaining housing since she lost her son a few years ago. Due to an unexpected emergency surgery this past summer, this parent is temporarily unable to work. Both of the children have minimal clothing items, which are becoming worn. As the family is currently without housing, they also do not have easy access to laundry. The children are middle school and high school age, but very tall, (6’ and 6’2”); as such they have had difficulty finding clothing that fits at donation sites. This family has been referred to family support services; an identified goal of said referral is addressing their financial needs. Family support will work with this family on identifying resources and developing/implementing a budget. I sent a similar request in the past but did not receive any response; as such, I've adjusting this referral in hopes it may reach more community members! The current need is for clothing of the following sizes: shirts- XL & XXL (long) and pants- 36 & 38 (long). This request is for either clothing donations, or a gift card to be used during family support to purchase the aforementioned items for the children. This request is for $100, however, any donation is appreciated!

A single mother of three young children is unable to work due to a traumatic brain injury. She has been unable to pay her electricity bill due to prioritizing other needs for her children. Her electricity has now been shut off and they are now living without it. She is in need of $508.85 to have her power restored. Please, help this mother and her babies by donating. There are 2 children who just lost their mother and are staying with relatives. The family is struggling to come up with funds to send the kids to summer camp. These funds would help get the kids to summer camp and get a sense of normalcy.

This family was evicted from their prior residence due to unsafe living conditions. Prior to this, the mother and two children got into a car accident, totaling their only vehicle. Not only was this accident traumatic for the family, it also left them unable to bring most of their belongings with them when evicted. This family recently secured housing and moved into a new apartment; they are currently in need of miscellaneous furniture items such as dressers and bookshelves for the children, as well as a washer and dryer. One of the most pressing physical needs identified by the parents is a rocking chair for their son, who has autism, and rocks back and forth to self-sooth. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This request is for a mother and her two young children aged 1 and 5 who are currently working to flee their abuser and start living on their own. This mom is currently working with the Department to be able to have her own apartment and support her children as a single parent after being isolated and abused for multiple years. This woman's abuser has control over all of the finances for herself and the children, and the Department is asking for help with purchasing some supplies like summer clothing, diapers, and other essentials for this mom and her two kiddos so she can successfully make this transition and still have what her kids need while getting her feet under her again. The Department is asking for a Target, Walmart, or Amazon gift card (or something similar) to be able to purchase some items for this mother and her children as soon as possible. Anything at all will help!

Single mother with 2 school age daughters needs assistance with bed bug control and cleaning supplies. Family is needing two bed bug covers for queen mattresses to help control bed bugs. Family is also in need of general household cleaning supplies.

I am currently working a two-parent household with three children. The mother and father in the household is very receptive to the role of DHHS and is open to all and any help she can get for their three children. The children are very bright, talkative, respectful, and kind. The parents have been dealt with bad cards and have a lot against them at this time. The family had to recently gut the entirety of their residence to make it safe and suitable for everyone. The family now has no furniture and beds. The family will continue to work with DHHS.

Hi there, I am looking for someone to help gather clothing for a teenage girl. Her mother receives child support but uses the money on herself and does not provide for her. It was reported that she wears the same clothes everyday. She requested size 3/26 in jeans, small in pants, and small/medium in shirts and sweatshirts. She would really appreciate the help!
