Church Needs

I am working with a biological mother of five children. Mom is compliant with services and recognizes she needs help achieving sobriety. Mom has agreed to go to medical detox followed by inpatient care. Mom has identified past due rent as a barrier that would postpone or potentially prevent her from going to detox and inpatient care. Mom's monthly rent is just below $200 a month and she is behind by three months. Mom is currently looking for employment in order to pay the past due balance but could prioritize her sobriety and postpone job seeking if there was no past due balance.

A sweet family took placement of a child in March, and they are not receiving any financial assistance from OKDHS at this time. Throughout the placement, the family has managed their finances well. After paying their monthly expenses at their original location this month, they were informed their landlord sold the property and requested the family to move immediately; after making all required bill payments and rent at the location. The family has located a new residence. They were able to make the initial deposit and take care of moving expenses. However, they are now short of $300 for rent for the new residence.
They have reached out to community resources and have been unsuccessful with obtaining assistance. As a last resort the family has reached out to OKDHS for assistance to help cover the remaining $300. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Without having the added expenses for the future months to come, the family will be back on track in managing their bills. The family and I thank you for any assistance you can provide.

We have a mother and daughter who have been brought back together. We have observed the mother and child to have a great bond. The mother just moved into a new apartment and will be starting a new job in the next couple of weeks. The mother has overcame many obstacle's in her life, and during our interaction with the mother we have observed an amazing turn around in her life. She is needing assistance with her rent and only has a short window of time to do so. If this barrier can eliminated it will help the mother save for incoming bills. We would like to add that this is a one time ask, because the mother believes she will be able to meet all of the needs in the home once she starts working full time. We have a father that is in need of a gas card. The father works fulltime and after paying bills he normally does not have the funds to put gas in his car. The father has talked about getting a second job and the gas card will help out until he is able to bring in extra income.

Hello! We are looking for a little help for a father that has successfully reunified with his children. This dad has really gone above and beyond to ensure his children were returned, and issues were corrected. There were some issues at reunification that actually resulted in the kids being returned about 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Dad needs a little help meeting the financial needs a little early. We are asking for a lawn mower any in working order will help! His yard is not large so a push mower is much appreciated. Shortly after the children were returned his clothes dryer bit the dust. We are asking for an electric clothes dryer in working condition if possible. Any help is appreciated!

Parents of five are need of transportation assistance to get to family time at the DHS office, which is difficult from their location on the bus. An Uber or Lyft card would support them to see their children.

Hello! We are asking you to please help a child with some size 2T-3T night-time pullups. The child is placed in a kinship foster home and in running through pullups very quickly. Due to the rate of pullups used, the foster family is unable to keep up with the supply. Thank you for your generosity.

We have a family in need of a computer monitor and printer. The family would like to become more proficient in using computers. They also believe by having a computer is will open doors to various career opportunities. The family is open to used equipment as well.

A young man on my caseload is in a robotics course at school. He is in to programming and coding. He currently does coding on his phone but the phone can no longer handle data. He asked for desktop computer or "tower" to use for coding/programming. He said that it did not have to be new or have special specifications. A desktop/tower would help him further his educational goals and perhaps launch a career in this field. He is an exceptional youth with good behavior and a positive attitude.

A single mother, who is trial reunification with her daughter, needs help paying her rent due to having to take time off to adjust with her daughter in her home. This money will be used to support the family and preserve the placement.

Foster parents need financial assistance to help with a summer program for a 4-year old foster child. Both foster parents are employed and need daycare for the foster daughter through the summer. Please help this traditional resource family to preserve this foster care placement. Any partial financial assistance is greatly appreciated.

Please bless this single mom by covering her psychiatric bill. Mom has fled a domestic violence situation, and is doing well repairing her life. She is currently in treatment addressing her mental health, however, due to being an immigrant she does not qualify for health insurance.
