A local single foster mom is caring for two teen boys in foster care and would love to surprise them with some brand new shoes! We know it's a big ask, but they can't stop talking about Jordans and would be BLOWN AWAY to get some. Would also be great with some Amazon gift cards to be able to pick out their absolute favorites! One wears size 7.5, one wears size 10. If Jordans are outside of a comfortable price range, they would still be grateful for an Amazon gift card of any amount to be able to pick out some new shoes! Thank you!

The day before Thanksgiving, two children ages 4 and 10 had their placement give notice leading them to move right before the holiday. A kin-like provider was able to be identified and him and his wife took the kids in with no hesitation. The children have been settling in well and the providers are finding themselves paying for gas to 2 visits with parents per week, beds for both kids, new clothes, food and Christmas coming up. This family would benefit from a gift card to off set some costs around the holidays. This would help the family ensure they have gifts and enough food for the holidays. If this need is met, finances will be one less thing to stress about for this family.

The department is working with maternal grandparents who are trying to provide for their 3 grandchildren ages 17 who has a 2 years old baby, 7 years and 5 years old. The family is struggling financially and is asking for some assistance with a gift card for gas $500 to ensure the children are able to attend school and important appointments. Also a gift card for food $500 to assure the children get good nutrition. The 7 years old has Down Syndrome and a vascular brain disease. He had 2 brain surgeries. “Moya Moya syndrome”. Prognosis with treatment and monitoring overlaps with spectrum down syndrome. He has been having seizures since he is 18 months, but now they are under control. He has an intellectual disability. He is not verbal, expressing aggression and physically struggling to go up and down stairs. The 5 year old has behavioral issues and is in therapy. Assistance with gift card for gas for $500 and $500 gift card for food is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your generosity!

Greetings, This request is for a single mother who is actively working towards becoming reunified with her son. This mother is struggling with her finances, transportation, and communication. After speaking with the mother, she is in need of a cell phone and minutes to be able to stay in communication with all parties of this case and to be able to schedule for appointments as well as spend family time with her son. Mother is very motivated to become an active part of this case and would greatly appreciate this barrier being removed. This phone will also assist her in becoming self sufficient as she will be able to utilize community resources to better her current situation. A phone and minutes card from Walmart is appreciated. Thank you for your generosity! It is highly appreciated by the family.

This request impacts multiple families.

The LOFT, (formerly known as The Family Visitation Center) which is the the area of DHS that starts family time with families when children are initially removed from their home. We are located within the DHS building at 1675 GOG Rd. During the week prior to Christmas, The LOFT staff would like to share some holiday spirit with the families we serve. To do this we are in need of some holiday games, crafts to make, and gifts to give. The LOFT will be closed December 22-26, so we will be having all families come in prior to their regularly scheduled time in order to make sure the families get to see each other before the holiday. We will be having our holiday celebration with families the week of December 18th-21st, so the soonest y'all would want to start givings gifts! On average we have about 25-35 families coming to have family time during a week. Age ranges of children are from newborn to 17, but on average children's ages are newborn to 13 years old. The LOFT staff would love to be able to provide games, crafts, and even give the children some small gifts during the week prior to Christmas to make this time special for the families. The parents of these children are not always able to buy anything for their children so any help with these items would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Special Instructions: This request is for The Department of Human Services to help support family time. This can be delivered to DHS.

High Urgency Need
We recently learned about a Colorado Springs family that was homeless for about 8 months and were finally able to get into a home earlier this year. The father is currently the sole financial support for this family of 4. The mother is going through immigration process and cannot work so she is home caring for our 2 daughters ages almost 2 and 5 months. They are needing assistance with rent this month to avoid eviction. You can click on Yes, I can help and then use the "Fund" option to give a partial amount through CarePortal. Beautiful Redemption has some funding to help with this as well. Thank you!

CASA has a case with a 15-year-old boy who is living with a friend and the friend's mom due to his own mom being in prison and his dad being in a halfway house trying to stay sober. Neither of his parents have helped raise him and he was couch-surfing before this case opened. The single mom who is housing this youth makes just enough money to not get governmental assistance but still struggles with anything above and behind basic bills and groceries. CASA is asking for a grocery gift card to help this family have a Thanksgiving meal as well as a Christmas meal to help with the extras. Thank you!
