We have been working with a family of four in Payne County for about five weeks. During this time, the family has been working to improve the stability and environment of their home. The home consists of a single father of three girls and they are in need of two twin bed mattresses. The father is motivated to continue improving his environment and maintaining his home. OKDHS is trying to help a father with gas money so that he can have a family time visit with his son in Enid, Oklahoma. The child is in Major Co. while the father lives in Payne Co. The family time visits would occur in Garfield Co. to accommodate the child and the father.

We have a single dad with three young boys who is in need of assistance with daycare registration assistance for daycare. The two younger boys are enrolling in daycare so dad can start to apply for jobs, and is in need of $100 for registration ($50/child). We are need of it by the end of the week to lock in their placement at daycare.

We have a couple who just had a baby a few weeks ago. They are in need of some parts for their car so that they can visit baby each day/week. 2005 Pontiac Vibe; they are in need of an AC Compressor and a windshield. Anything helps!

A foster family is struggling with the behaviors of their foster child, who they plan on adopting. He is a sensory seeker and is on the wait list for several providers to get more services in the home to stabilize the child and family. The family would benefit from various sensory tools to assist the child at home while they wait on more services. Help this family with a tall dresser. This family lost their home in the fire and are finally in a more permanent home and are in need of a tall dresser for their kids room.

A single mother raising her two children, a female who is 16 and a male who is 8. She works several days a week. She has been trying to get caught up on her gas bill, but has been struggling to get it paid off.

Foster mother is needing assistance with getting Gelmix for a medically fragile baby. The baby has to have Gelmix infant thickener added to his formula to thicken the formula and prevent him from aspirating. During a recent hospital stay, the medical team used all of foster moms Gelmix so she has run out earlier than she was supposed to. There are a few different brands available that will work as long as it states on the bottle that it is an infant thickener, but Gelmix is the recommended brand.

Parents of two school age youth are needing assistance with $410 for School lunch bill. The mother of the family recently left her job due to health issues in the last month and a half. Client father works full time and overtime. Recently family replaced a washer and dryer and have roof damage from recent storms and working with insurance for coverage of a portion of fee.

Family made a payment to the school and have a deadline of May 18th. Case Manager met with family and called school to make payment arrangements, and applied for reduced lunches but was denied. Family agreed to payments of $50 a month until paid in full.

Steps to prevent the school lunch fees from reaching over whelming amount again include:

1. Check the Parent Portal from school website regularly to ensure any lunch charges are due.
2. Budget
3. Pack home lunches; family has collaborated a plan to Show, Assist, and Allow the kids to pack on their own and support development of routine.
4. Family meetings- game, discussion of needs with income and school lunches, set expectations and consequences.
5. Continue making payments to school as agreed

Assistance will help family with being able to tend to current financial stress and obligations. While starting the new school year with $0 balance and stay on track with keeping up with lunch fees.
