We are currently working with an aunt who took over the care of her nephews. She is a wonderful individual who needs groceries to help feed the new children in her home. She is currently working and due to the daycare situation, she has missed some days of work. Which caused her to have less income this week. She needs help with groceries and baby wipes to help support her nephews through this week and some days next week, till her next paycheck. I am not requesting money, but grocery items & wipes. Child is on a trial home placement with mom and is in need of a bed, mattress, and bedding including blankets, sheets, and pillow. Child is a little boy. He loves spiderman. He is currently sharing a bed with his older brother. Mother is a single mom due to violence in the home. Mother has 3 children including the child in need of a bed and he is the only one without a bed of his own.

Jackson County CD is in need of a few clothing racks for our care closet. This care closet allows us to provide new clothing to children that come into care. These children often come in with dirty, small, and poor clothing. This allows us to send an outfit or two with them to a new and unfamiliar place. We greatly appreciate it!

A group of four siblings was just placed with their grandparents. The grandparents are needing help with gas cards because they are having to drive these four children to everything that they need to, for example doctors visits, activities, and various other things. I am asking for assistance with gas for this family any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mom fled a domestic violence situation and is currently staying with her oldest daughter and mother, who needs constant care due to a mental illness. Mom is in need of clothing and hygiene products. Case manager has sizes for Mom, if request is able to be fulfilled. Mom could use socks, underwear, bras, pants, and shirts.

Client experienced 10 years of chronic homelessness and is a victim of SA and DV. Client recently relocated for safety reasons to a new apartment in which she is not sharing the location with anyone else out of safety precautions. We were able to help with the security deposit. Client is on disability however due to fleeing her current living situation, she only has clothing. Client is working with a victim advocate for furniture, but is in imminent need of food items. Client would benefit from either a gift card to a grocery store or food delivery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This child has been the foster care system for many years. In his young life he has learned some unhealthy habits. He is now currently developing and growing while his needs are being met. We are asking for the balance of a 10-week summer camp program to be paid. The total cost of the program is $1,700.00. KC Parks and Recreation has offered a 50% scholarship to attend camp. CASA is able to cover the cost of one week of summer camp. Leaving a balance $850.00. This would be a great program for child to continue to grow and learn skills.

A smart & vibrant 10- year old has been placed in the care of her aunt for the past two years. During that time her aunt has taken her in to her home and provided her with a safe, loving and stable home. Her aunt moved into a better neighborhood and school district to provide her niece a better lifestyle. Shortly after moving the aunt lost her job and is now struggling to make ends meet. She has gone through all of the steps to take guardianship of this youth & is awaiting guardianship any day now. The youth is in need of some things that the aunt is unable to provide at this time. She is in need of some summer clothing, girls size 10 tops & shorts, women's shoes size 6.5. or 7 tennis shoes. If you are able to help out with this need it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

3 local Kansas City children's mother was murdered last Monday, leaving the children orphaned. These kids are now staying with their great-aunts but they are in desperate need of bedding for the three children.

A single mother of four is needing help with getting some items to clean/organize their house. Mom has already taken some steps to get the house back in shape, but has asked for some items to help further her success. These items will help mom feel like she can accomplish the goals that were asked of her. Mom said that she would be fine with having plastic drawers for dressers. Amazon has really nice ones.

Children's Division is working with a single mom of four. The family has lost a number of things due to being homeless and have recently found a place to live. They had to flee from their last home on account of domestic violence and are essentially starting all over again. They are such a close-knit family that is in need of some assistance. The following is a list of their needs; Female Child 1 (Age: 9) - 10/12 shirts - 14/16 pants - 8 underwear - Size 7 Shoes Female Child 2 (Age: 8) -7/8 Shirts - 7/8 pants - 6 underwear - Size 2.5 Shoes Female Child 3 (Age: 5) - 6 Shirts - 6 Pants - 4 underwear - Size 1 Shoes Male Child (Age: 3) - 3T Clothing - 4 underwear - Size 11 Shoe Mom: - XL Shirt - 20W Black Pants - 40DD Bra - Size 8 Underwear - Size 10 Shoes The Family is also in need of kitchen supplies (Pots, pans, dishes, silverware, ect), toiletries, laundry soap, toilet paper, dishwashing soap, pillows, sheets, blankets, and a first aid kit. The mother is also needing a new wheel alignment on her car and a radiator replaces. She states that she has the parts, she just needs help getting them put on correctly. She would love a washing machine as well but knows that it is a huge ask.

The mother is working to get into vocational rehab at this time as well as additional mental health services. The gas in her home is for her stove, hot water heater, and heat. I have a teen who needs help paying for immunizations for her dog. I know this isn’t a typical request but this dog means the world to this teen. She raised the dog since it was a pup and has spent a great deal of time training it and entering it into dog competitions (fly ball, I think?). The dog is her companion and she is very attached to him, he has been with her when many people have abandoned our youth. Our youth is in foster care and placed a few hours from the KC area.
