I am working with a young family due with a baby in August. They are currently living with dad's family in an attic space. Dad has been looking for a job and mom has applied for disability income. Until they have income, they are unable to move out of the attic space. In order to make the space safe for baby to come home, they need a few items. I am requesting a window AC unit, a box fan, and a small dresser for storing baby's items.

For as long as I have worked with this family, they have encountered financial hardship and have been having a really hard time getting back on their feet. It seems as though something else always comes up that poses them a new financial challenge. Oftentimes, the family's close bonds with their neighbors are able to provide a support network for them, but this year, after a very cold and persistent midwest winter, the family has been hit with a large electricity bill that they are having a hard time paying. Mom has tried to set up payments with the company but they have denied her request. Plainly, she does not have the resources available to her to pay this bill in full without serious financial consequences for her and her two children, who she works fiercely to support. I am hoping we can find help in paying off this bill for a family of three impacted by the chronic stress of trying to make ends meet as It is possible they could lose access to utilities. They are looking for a total of $544.16 to cover an Evergy bill.

DCF is assisting a maternal Grandmother with a kinship placement. Grandma already has custody of a 2 year old grandson and getting custody of infant (1 month old) granddaughter. The toddler needs a toddler bed and bedding. The infant granddaughter needs a safe sleep space (a crib, bassinet, or play pen would be great!), a car seat, and 0-3 girl clothing, and any new born supplies like diapers, wipes, bottles, pacifiers, and formula (we can provide details on brand later, we are unsure at this moment.) Any supplies for the toddler or infant would be greatly appreciated. The infant supplies are more dire as the grandmother is getting custody of the child today.

We have a single dad working on having his baby at home with him full time. Dad has a bassinet for baby to sleep in, but is hoping to find a crib, as that will be better for the baby long term. This dad is working to hard to create change, and is very eager to have his son full time! He's surrounding himself with great supports for them both. We are so proud of his hard work!

This request is on behalf of a young single mother of two active boys, ages 6 months and 5 years. Despite living with a disability, this mother has shown remarkable progress in learning and applying parenting skills. Her dedication to her children and willingness to grow have led to significant improvements in their home environment. She is currently in need of a highchair for her infant son, which will greatly support his development by allowing him to safely participate in family mealtimes and practice independent feeding. Meeting this need will not only enhance daily routines and bonding experiences but also reinforce the positive steps this mother has already taken in her parenting journey.

FATHER WILL NEED BUNK BED SET WITH TWO TWIN MATTRESSES AND BEDDING SET FOR 11 YEAR OLD GIRL AND 10 YEAR OLD BOY. FATHER APPRECIATES ALL THE HELP THAT CAN BE PROVIDED.

A child has had lice for about two months now. She has missed 12 days of school and is now missing end of year testing. Her guardian has not been able to contain the lice with over-the-counter products, and she is in need of professional treatment. I have located a salon in the area that is able to provide services at a discounted rate so that she does not miss any more school. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have a mother that has had to miss work for the past two weeks due to a sick child at home. As a result she has fallen behind financially with paying her rent.

Older youth is moving into his first apartment on 5/15 and is set to age out of care on 6/19. Agency is working on gathering furniture and resources he will need to support him in his new apartment and set him up for success before he ages out of care. Area programs for beds have a waitlist. Youth is in need of a bedframe and mattress.

A single mother with 5 children struggle has mental health issues and is unable to work. The single mother is needing assistance paying for her security deposit to move into her new home.

Both children are needing new bras as the ones they currently have are old or don't fit anymore. Both have expressed the need for this to their foster home. One child is in need of size 38D bras with no underwire and the other child is in need of size 28A or 28AA bras. Both would prefer neutral colors.
