This father is a hard working parent , who has been given custody of his young child for safety reasons. The child is thriving and healing , the father has a full time job, and a vehicle that is no longer drivable ,the vehicle has engine or transmission problems that would cost more to repair than to just get another car. The father uses the vehicle to take his child to therapy , school and also to get to his employment site. We are hoping to raise 3,500.00 dollars so he can buy a working vehicle.
Thank you so much. Updated on January 23, 2023 by an Agency Worker We would also like to add that if someone has a dependable car they would like to donate to this family, please let us know. Your donation will greatly improve this family's situation, relieve a great deal of stress on this single father, and put dad and child on the road to success. Thank you for your consideration and all you do to make a difference in the lives of families!
Hello! I have two siblings who were placed in foster care last year in April due to parents' substance use and mental health concerns. The kids were placed with a family friend and they have been AMAZING in helping to take care of him and his sister while they are in foster care. One thing that the family has been struggling with was being able to afford to pay the kids' activity fees to make sure that they still are able to live like regular children and participate in their regular activities while the kids are in their care. The younger brother has been participating in soccer and is SO talented at it, and his older sister participates in theatre and theater camps. Anything would be so appreciated in helping this family out!
KVC is requesting assistance housing an 18-year-old female and relative placement after a landlord failed to pay taxes on their property. This child and placement were evicted through no fault of their own when a bank foreclosed on the property without the landlord notifying the family. This child is attempting to set her life up for post-care and is working long hours in a different city. $1200 is requested but any amount will help.
Three siblings have been significantly acting out after visits with parents and there are concerns for them hurting one another. With a 2-level home, foster parents are unable to see the children when they are in their room and need a baby monitor with video capability to ensure the children's safety while they are cooking dinner or are in other areas of the home. This need is urgent as the children have become very physically aggressive with one another and others in the household as well.
We serve the family of a nine year old boy with autism and ADHD who is in need of some sensory equipment for a “quiet corner” his mother is trying to put together to assist him in learning skills to help him to regulate himself in a soothing manner. The cost of a lighted curtain and two alarm clocks; one for the quiet corner and the other for his bedroom. The clocks are used to set timers, the displays are large and bright enough for client to see. The cost of these items total is $130. Thank you for your kindness.
We would like to submit a request to assist a needy family with paying lot rent (600.00) and electric bill (317.00). This is a single parent family with mom and two young boys ages 7 and 9. Mom is unable to work due to a diagnosed seizure disorder that also leaves her unable to drive. We are in process of applying for Social Security Disability for mom and her two boys who struggle with developmental delays as well as PTSD and ADHD. We are assisting mom with mental health support at BNC as well due to a history of childhood trauma. This family escaped a domestic violent situation in Texas to return to Kansas where there are some family members located for natural supports, unfortunately family is poverty stricken and unable to assist them financially. Any assistance would be beneficial to this very deserving family. You’re blessing many lives.
We are currently working with an 8 year old child who is diagnosed with several mental health concerns. She has hallucinations and struggles with feeling safe in any environment. The family is very caring and working with her to help her in every possible way. She also has mental health services and treatment. While working with the family, we were able to identify 3 tools they could use to help the child feel safer. Both parents are working but with normal expenses and extra expenses for the child, they are living paycheck to paycheck. I am asking for help to purchase these needed items. I've listed the items that can be purchased through Amazon by any donor or I will happily order these with any donations received. Thank you for considering this request and for all of your support for our families and workers!!
Child needs a light switch for the hallway in her home. She is afraid of the dark and being alone. The family rents and cannot make any renovations so we found a light switch that links to the actual light and doesn't require wiring: ($19.99 and tax).
Child needs a dimmable night light for her bedroom and bathroom so that she can control the amount of light in her room but have a reliable light during the night: ($17.99 and tax)
Child needs a camera in her room to record her activity at night for her therapist and psychiatrist: ($29.99 and tax)
Combined family of 5 kids and two adults (mom and aunt) need assistance paying off past due rent. This would allow the family to look into a new home that can more easily house everyone. Mother and aunt are working but this debt continues to compile.

A young name is in need of a new futon. He has been offered a bed, but he prefers a futon for when he has friends over. The one that he currently has is broken. He is wanting one that is more comfortable like a bed as well. Getting this futon will allow for him to not only get a good night's rest, but it will also allow for him to socialize with his friends.

Hello! I have a single mom in need of financial assistance with replacing the windshield on her vehicle. The estimated online cost for this repair through Safelite autoglass is $364.98. This will be the first step to helping mom get stable with her newborn baby because this will allow her to have reliable transportation to work, daycare, and appointments. Please let us know if this is something you can help with.
Family foster home in Lawrence recently had a check done for bed bugs. The bug man didn't see any active bugs but recommended the family get a treatment done since they have been having issues with bed bugs. The company is giving the family a discount at 700 dollars for this treatment. KVC is asking for help paying for this treatment service- the full amount is 700 but any amount would help!! it is important that the bed bugs get taken care of as one child is almost at reintegration and cannot have bed bugs in bio home in order to reintegrate (visits in home are occurring) and the family just took a sibling set of 4 for placement and don't want to have bed bugs be an issue anymore. Thank you!
We are currently experiencing a shortage of baby wipes and formula to give low-income families participating in family preservation. DCCCA Family Preservation is asking for help from the community to replenish our supply of hygiene products in our donation pantry. These products will benefit low-income families in crisis due to the following real-life scenarios: domestic violence has caused a family to flee their home with only the clothes on their backs; a family is experiencing homelessness and does not know where their next meal is going to come from, much less how they are going to afford a bottle of shampoo or body wash; a parent has made the decision to go into substance abuse treatment to avoid losing their child/ren but cannot afford the essentials to take with them to the treatment facility; the child/ren are at risk of being placed in foster care due to showing up for school with poor or bad hygiene due to their single parent not having the means to buy hygiene products. We are grateful for any help from the community to support the basic needs of the families we serve. For your convenience, there three options to help meet part of this need: You may purchase items directly from our Walmart wish list: . You may purchase a Walmart gift card in-store or online and either mail or deliver to our address below. A mother is very close to reunifying with her children; she just needs one more bed! She would like a daybed or a bed that works as both a couch and a bed since she will be sleeping in the living room to make space for her children.
She would also like a Ring doorbell as a safety precaution to ensure the perpetrator of the children's abuse does not come to the home and to help the children feel more safe.
