Foster father recently lost his job due to a medical issue. He is having short term memory loss and is unable to go back to work until he completes further testing. Foster family currently has a cut off notice for their electric bill. It was $500. They were able to pay $300 of it. I do have a copy of the bill and any funds donated can go directly to the electric company. Thank you.
Foster mother is need of help paying for daycare registration. Her husband recently lost his job due to medical reasons. He was on over the road truck driver and started suffering from short term memory loss. He was forgetting loads and the company let him go. He is now home and undergoing testing to see what is happening. The foster family is struggling financially due to the loss of foster dad's income. The daycare name can be provided by the worker and the money can be paid directly to the daycare. If the registration is not paid today the baby cannot return to daycare until the fee is paid.
We have a single local foster mom who has been providing emergency respite/placement for teens in need that would otherwise be spending nights in the office. She has opened up her home for well over 20 kiddos since she has been fostering and has been spending her own money to buy clothing and toiletries for teens that usually only have one set of clothing and often times even shoes that don't even fit. She will often take the children to Walmart to buy the children the essential items they need and can take with them while going home to home until permanent homes can be found. The foster mom and children would benefit greatly from any sort of donations such as Walmart/Walgreens gift cards so she can buy these teens clothing and essential toiletry items they need and can take with them.
The family is currently involved in a Family Centered Services case to prevent potential intervention through the court system. The family is needing assistance with their utility bill to ease some of the financial strain they are experiencing as there are three children and the family has to get children to appointments throughout the week. The family's utility bill is currently $202 past due and any help would be greatly appreciated to alleviate one stressor in their lives.
Young single mother who recently moved into a new home is in need of a few items for her home. She is in need of pots and pans, dressers, an oven, standard curtains (she has rods), gasoline and groceries. This mother has recently moved out of a dangerous situation and has been doing well to ensure the safety of herself and her child. Thank you for any help! She would very much appreciate it.
Hi there! We can help with a variety of things, but we are local and are wondering if you could help put us in contact with the mom? I would like to communicate to her and see what she needs most.
Client in need includes natural mother and her two year old son. Natural mother is engaged in family time with her son and is dedicated to reunifying with him. However she does struggle with poverty and lack of transportation. She would love to attend her necessary treatment services but struggles finding a way to get there. Helping this mother with transportation via uber assistance would go a long way in ensuring she attends treatment which would assist her in reunifying with her son. Her and her son have a strong, loving bond so reunification for this case is key and lack of transportation right now is a major barrier.
Two foster children are entering new placement and are in need of a bunk bed, 2 mattresses, and bedding. The two teenage girls have moved around from home to home, and unfortunately do not have any sheets, blankets, pillows, or other bedding for themselves. The girls will be sharing a room with each other and would benefit from having a bunk bed (and mattresses) in order to save space.
A new foster parent, older in age, took placement of two teens who are infested with head lice. She is overwhelmed with all the washing and cleaning of the home. One child who has very thick hair has to have it professionally treated at the lice clinic, as well as have a haircut. This is a major expense, along with all the continuing of washing. They will receive a discount for having Soonercare.
Please help us strengthen this family. Grandmother has taken in three of her grandchildren. Grandmother is now taking on the responsibilities of getting the children to and from school, counseling, as well as other daily tasks required for the children to be in her home. She is currently two months behind on her car payment and in need of assistance to bring it current before her car is repossessed. Please bless this family!
Boy age 6 in need of a weighted/autism sensory compression vest and weighted blanket (8-10lbs). Child appears to (attempt) self soothing, similar to children with autism. Child appears to get overwhelmed/overstimulated at school and a weighted calming vest may help alleviate this concern. Kinship foster parents are attempting "least restrictive" methods and/or other alternatives to sedative medications.
An adult sister has placement of her teenage sister and her biological 3-year-old daughter. Foster care payments have not started yet and the teen is eating a lot more and adding to the grocery and electric bills. Her current electric bill is $281. Any help with this older sister-turned-foster mom's electric bill would be a blessing for this family.
A foster family is in need of assistance with their electric bill. The foster parent is currently struggling with finances and has not been fully approved for foster care maintenance payments at this time. Any assistance would help this family maintain placement.
OKDHS is currently working with a young man who has exceeded the limit for replacement glasses this year that are covered by the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority. He would benefit from having a backup pair because he is all-boy and can be rough on them. Without his glasses, he squints and struggles to read, which would lead to issues in the classroom. There is currently a "bundle" deal going at a nearby eye doctor where you can get two pair of glasses (with bi-focals) for $140.07. We felt that this might be a great option to help him get through the remainder of the year! If you or a group could assist, we would be very grateful! Thanks so much!
Location: Sand Springs, OK 74063-County:Creek-Children Served: 1-Agency: #OK-DHS Child Welfare-Tier 1: Physical Needs-Estimated Value:$140
Is it possible to upload his rx and get the glasses from a website? Eyebuydirect.com or Zenni.com sells prescription kids glasses starting at around $20… just thought I would pass this on in case the family didn’t know??

Hi! I have a sweet girl on my case load who has recently started playing the flute. The family she is placed with is in need of assistance paying for the flute monthly. The family would be extremely grateful to any financial assistance that could be provided that would go to the cost of her instrument.
Hello! I have a father who is in need of an assessment at DVIS! This father has fell on some hard times with his truck breaking down and losing his employment. Due to this he does not have the money for the initial assessment which is $95 dollars. I am in the process of getting him a bus pass but it would be extremely helpful if his assessment could be paid for as it is part of his service plan. If anyone is able to help out this Dad it would be much appreciated! Thank you!
There is a six year old male child in need of a box spring and bed. He has his mattress, however is needing help getting the rest. He is living with his paternal family currently, just started a new school, and loves learning. This request being filled would mean the world to this child. He is the only male child in the home and is separated from his four siblings due to no fault of his own. He cannot wait to decorate his room with things he wants and make his own space.
Mother in this case needs assistance with paying her electric bill. The electric bill is $315.00. Mother is in reunification with both of her children. If this need it not met it could cause her electric bill to be turned off. Mother has completed services required.
This 15 year old has already been adopted 3 times and has been abandoned again. The family that is taking him was a previous placement for him in the state of Kansas. He was dropped off with nothing and they were not prepared to take a child. As of today he has been in an unapproved placement with the family due to technicalities of needing out of state checks completed. The family will not receive any financial relief for at least another 15 days as foster care hopes to have him in an official placement today.

My client is a single father who lives with his great grandmother and the grandmother has been paying all the bills while her grandson works his DHS case. His two, 2 year old twin children are in Trial Reunification with the father and he is a wonderful, loving father to his children. However, the father has struggled with maintaining employment. The great grandmother has supported him and the children for the past year and has run into financial struggles due to this. She has asked DHS for help with her rent this month. Her rent is $650. DHS is hoping two churches could split the cost and pay $325 each. This grandmother will do anything for her grandchildren. She is so embarrassed that she had to ask for help as she has always been able to pay her rent. Thank you in advance for helping this family.
Worker spoke with a biological mother who the department is working on reunifying a 15 year old child with her mother. Biological mother has done everything asked of her by the department which includes multiple UAs and services. All of this have been recommended and not court ordered. Biological mother is willing to do anything asked of her in order for her child to return home. She is needing additional assistance such as a dryer. Her dryer went out and she does not have the funds to buy another one. She is also needing a lock box and a medication divider. This is to help with her 15 year old daughter medication once she is placed in the home so that her daughter takes it as prescribed and not as any self- harm attempts like she has done in the past.
