Hello I am needing a car seat for a grandma who takes care of her grandchild part of the time while the mother works. This will help out the whole family because the grandmother does not have the resources to get a car seat but needs one to take care of the grandchild. The grandchild is 7 months old.

I have a 15 year old foster child on my caseload who currently has braces but has been unable to get the brackets replaced and be seen by the orthodontist as her step-mother has not been financially able to make the monthly payment. The 15 year old's braces were put on in 2020 when she was residing with her biological father and step-mother. Since coming into care with three of her siblings (there are 5 kids total- one is not in care), the step-mother has not been able to pay the monthly bill due to other priorities (rent, utilities, food, gas, after school programs, sports, etc). The step-mother is employed full time but still does not have the finances to get caught up on the 15 year old's braces.
Assistance for the braces is greatly needed as the 15 year old's is starting to struggle with the lack of services required to maintain her braces. I do have the billing from the orthodontist office for verification of pricing.
To get the plan re-open, the cost will be $500. To pay off the total amount for the braces and receive current maintenance for the braces is $2300.00
Hello! I have a single mom in need of financial assistance with replacing the windshield on her vehicle. The estimated online cost for this repair through Safelite autoglass is $364.98. This will be the first step to helping mom get stable with her newborn baby because this will allow her to have reliable transportation to work, daycare, and appointments. Please let us know if this is something you can help with.
Family foster home in Lawrence recently had a check done for bed bugs. The bug man didn't see any active bugs but recommended the family get a treatment done since they have been having issues with bed bugs. The company is giving the family a discount at 700 dollars for this treatment. KVC is asking for help paying for this treatment service- the full amount is 700 but any amount would help!! it is important that the bed bugs get taken care of as one child is almost at reintegration and cannot have bed bugs in bio home in order to reintegrate (visits in home are occurring) and the family just took a sibling set of 4 for placement and don't want to have bed bugs be an issue anymore. Thank you!
This request is for one of three youth in care in this home. The youth is needing a mattress so that he can be moved to his own bedroom with his own bed.
Family preservation is assisting mother with getting her finances in order along with assisting with the clutter and hoarding like conditions in the home. She currently is renting her washer and dryer that she has, which she is struggling to pay month to month. If she had a washer and dryer she would eliminate that extra expense freeing up funds to pay her bills accordingly. Two children are in the home and one has special needs with a feeding tube.
We are currently experiencing a shortage of baby wipes and formula to give low-income families participating in family preservation. We can use sensitive wipes for sensitive bottoms and all brands of formula are appreciated. An expecting mother of two is in need of a Queen box spring. The mother has been unable to work due to her pregnancy and is not able to afford a box spring on her own. She is worried that after she gives birth, she will have difficulty get up and down from the mattress on the floor. Having a box spring would provide this mother and her two children that sleep with her a safe place to sleep and less complications once she gives birth.

DCCCA Family Preservation is asking for help from the community to replenish our supply of hygiene products in our donation pantry. These products will benefit low-income families in crisis due to the following real-life scenarios: domestic violence has caused a family to flee their home with only the clothes on their backs; a family is experiencing homelessness and does not know where their next meal is going to come from, much less how they are going to afford a bottle of shampoo or body wash; a parent has made the decision to go into substance abuse treatment to avoid losing their child/ren but cannot afford the essentials to take with them to the treatment facility; the child/ren are at risk of being placed in foster care due to showing up for school with poor or bad hygiene due to their single parent not having the means to buy hygiene products. We are grateful for any help from the community to support the basic needs of the families we serve. For your convenience, there three options to help meet part of this need: You may purchase items directly from our Walmart wish list: . You may purchase a Walmart gift card in-store or online and either mail or deliver to our address below. You may also choose to submit a financial donation for any amount to help towards this need by visiting https://form-renderer-app .Thank you for reading and for your ongoing support of DCCCA families. We have a single mom of 3 kiddos in need of assistance with formula for her baby. Mom has applied for food assistance but the process to be approved will take several weeks. The baby needs a large container of Enfamil, regular (yellow container). A walmart gift card would work as well if the actual item can't be donated. Thank you!
A mother is very close to reunifying with her children; she just needs one more bed! She would like a daybed or a bed that works as both a couch and a bed since she will be sleeping in the living room to make space for her children.
She would also like a Ring doorbell as a safety precaution to ensure the perpetrator of the children's abuse does not come to the home and to help the children feel more safe.

Gift cards needed for gas for driving from Kansas to a different state and back 2 times. Children will be visiting an adoptive resource and are not old enough to fly unaccompanied. Gift cards from Pilot / Flying J preferred due to trip route and available gas stations.
I have a mom on my caseload who is currently expecting. She is due 01/18. She is currently living in a women’s shelter and has recently informed me she does not have any baby clothes or diapers and wipes. Anything purchased or donated will be helpful.
A child in our care currently resides with his grandmother. The grandmother’s home is becoming unsafe to live and she needs to move as soon as possible. She found a place that accepts her section 8 voucher but she needs the deposit to help her secure it. Her deposit is $500 but I am only asking for $200 or however much you are able to give. This child loves being with his grandmother. Children’s Division doesn’t not want to separate the two because of the unsafe living environment. I am very appreciative of whatever is donated.

child is in an NRKIN home. This child wants to participate in gymnastics classes with her foster sisters. KVC is able to pay one month of the fees which is $68. The family is asking for help paying the other four months' worth of gymnastics fees at 68 dollars per month equaling $272. Thank you in advance for your help to make this happen!
There is a foster family in Lawrence that has been dealing with bed bugs for about a month now. The family bought a steam cleaner and mattress covers and are continuously washing bedding, stuffed animals, clothing, etc and this is seeming to work. Bed bugs were also found in the child's bio home and this hindered reintegration from occurring. The bio family got their home exterminated and will hopefully be good to go after the check up in two weeks. The foster family wants to ensure they no longer have bed bugs in the home as they could spread back to the bio family hindering reintegration once again. It would be so amazing if there's an exterminator who would be willing to help this home to ensure they no longer have bed bugs. Thank you in advance!!
This request is to help a single teen mom to raise the remaining balance to get her own vehicle. She has saved the majority of the money but is needing some help with the remaining cost. This new to her car would be incredibly helpful for her independence.
She will be using the money to purchase her vehicle. This vehicle would be used to transport the youth and her daughter to and from appointments, daycare, work, and give them the freedom to go from place to place without needing to depend on others or the public transportation system.
