Single mother raising her three children ages 11, 12 and 7 needs support to pay light utility bill. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she has fallen behind on her utility bill and is at risk of disconnection. Mom is caring for her children and doing her best to make ends meet. Despite her efforts, her current income is not enough to cover all her essential expenses this month. She is seeking assistance to help pay a past-due utility bill of $85.00 to ensure her family can maintain access to electricity, heat and food. Assisting this mom with this month will get her back on track.

I am writing in behalf of my client is a single mother of 3 who recently experienced a DV incident, leaving her in a state of crisis. With the assistance of a navigator, she sought immediate help and was able to secure temporary transportation through PADV. Unfortunately, the transportation attempts were unsuccessful as the Uber drivers refused to transport her due to the absence of car seats for her children. The client was given a 24-hour window to reach a shelter. However, due to the transportation issues, she was unable to make it within the given time frame. The following day, she was informed that the shelter spot had been taken. She spent the next three days trying to secure another spot without success.

In the meantime, the client contacted her landlord, who changed the locks to ensure her safety and has also lowered the rent to help client. She has also applied for additional public assistance, including TANF and Cash Assistance, and currently awaiting approval. The client has been a victim of financial abuse which has left her in a vulnerable financial state. She recently discovered that her ex-partner did not pay the light bill, resulting in an outstanding balance of $209. The electricity is scheduled for disconnection on May 9th, 2025. The client is urgently seeking assistance to cover the light bill to prevent disconnection. This support is crucial for her and her children as they navigate this challenging period and work towards stability and safety.

Caregiver is the aunt to a nephew placed with her. She has 3 children of her own. She is behind rent for 2 months. She is a veteran but her services are limited due to her length of duty. She will be evicted soon and needs desperate help. She's completed several apps but no one is getting in touch with her. Any assistance towards her rent would be appreciated in order to prevent homelessness.

The child would like to go to prom but needs assistance with getting her hair and makeup done. Estimated value is $250.

Two toddler boys in Foster Care, ages 2 and 4 that are in need of car seats/booster seats with the back attached. The car seats cannot be bulky as they will be placed in the back seat of a Nissan Versa along with an infant car seat for their sibling. I am currently working with a single mother on my caseload who is in urgent need of rental assistance. She is pregnant with a due date in June, and has recently been laid off from her job. Although she has secured rent for the month of May, she will not be able to cover June’s rent due to her upcoming delivery and loss of income.

This mother is raising two children, a 16-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son, and is doing her best to prepare for the arrival of her newborn while managing the household on her own. With no current income and a baby expected in early June, she is facing significant financial strain.

Rental assistance for the month of June would greatly relieve some of the pressure she is experiencing and allow her to focus on her recovery and caring for her children during this critical time. Your support would make a meaningful difference in the stability and well-being of this family.

I am submitting a request on behalf of a young family on my caseload. The parents are teenagers and first-time caregivers to their three-month-old baby. They are currently facing financial difficulties and have been unable to purchase essential baby items, including a stroller.

Although they have a car seat, they do not have a compatible stroller. The mother has expressed a strong desire to take her baby on walks for both her and the baby's well-being, but carrying the car seat alone has been too heavy and impractical for outdoor outings. This has limited her ability to get fresh air and engage in healthy routines with her child.

Positive Impact International operates six emergency youth shelters here in Gwinnett County, serving homeless and at-risk youth ages 12 to 21 — including parenting youth, foster youth, and those with special needs.

Right now, all of our shelters are at full capacity, and we are seeing a growing number of youth coming to us facing food insecurity. Many arrive hungry and in survival mode, and one of the most immediate ways we can show them love and care is by providing warm, healthy meals.
