Hello! We are seeking assistance with rent assistance for a single mom of two boys. Mom has been engaged with KVC for quiet some time but has run into a barrier with her housing. She owes some back rent that she must resolve prior to qualifying for low income housing. Mother is on disability due to a significant physical disability that does not enable her to work. Mother is putting her entire disability check towards the rent due but still needs help. Any assistance offered is greatly appreciated! This will directly impact our ability to reintegrate the child.

I am hoping that I can find someone that wants to help a recently single mom who has found the courage to leave an abusive partner and start over with five children. Children age in the range of 4 to 13 and three have special needs. This mom has worked hard to secure a duplex for the next two years and works for the school district so she can be home with the kids when not in school. I hope whoever receives this request knows how deserving this precious family really is. Through all the troubles this family has endured through faith and family. They have always welcomed everyone with smiles and laughter. I am hoping to help them by getting twin bunk beds with plastic protectors and extra mattress pads.

This child turned 18 in August and is walking to and from work. She did have a bicycle that she purchased from someone on Marketplace for $20. However, she has since learned that it does not steer well. She has asked if it would be possible to find out if someone could help with her need of a bicycle. She is also working on getting into a community college. This bicycle would be used for transportation to and from work and school. The bicycle she has sent me is $130 from Walmart. We are requesting a gift card so that she can go get it herself and pick the color. Thank you for considering this request.

8 year old girl is the sibling of newborn who is currently admitted to CMH due to medical concerns and there is no discharge date in sight as of now. Mother has been out of work since a couple months prior to birth due to high-risk pregnancy and with baby being admitted to hospital her date to start working again is delayed even further. Father has also had to take FMLA from work which has resulted in less income for the family. The little girl turns 9 y/o next Friday 9/15/23. Mom reached out to DCF to see if we can assist with items for her birthday as mom doesn’t want her to feel even more left out/unimportant since mom and dad’s attention lately has been focused more on baby in the hospital. Mom wants her to have a good birthday but can’t afford birthday gifts for her.
We are asking for help with rent to stabilize a family to prevent two children from coming into care. Mom works a full time job and is helping her two older children who are in college. Mom also has two younger children that are in the home that she provides care to. Last month, DCF redirected the SSID payments for the teenager that was taken into care. This caused mom to have to work overtime to try to make sure she was able to make rent. However, she has voiced that despite taking the max amount of shifts and working another part time job, she is unable to make her rent for this month and will become homeless with the two other children. Mom does have a plan moving forward but is struggling to make up for the last minute loss of the SSID payments. We are asking for any help we can to either fully cover, or go towards so we can make sure we prevent mom and the two younger children going homeless.
A relative placement for a 17 year old male is requesting financial assistance to pay the child's school fees. The grandparents of the child are grateful for any help provided with paying the fees as the child preparing for their release from care and to begin their life as an adult.
Hello, I have a child who is developmentally behind and in a residential setting where she does not get many new items. Myself, the case manager and the staff at the residential program were exploring ways to motivate her to meet her treatment goals, as well as reward her. She has recently been asking every adult she is around if they have any Monster High or Rainbow High Dolls that she can take back to the facility. We are thinking if we can get her one or two of these dolls, it could help her overall progress in the program.
I have a Relative Placement that just moved to Overland Park who is in need of some help since moving in! We are getting close to adoption and want to preserve this placement but as of right now there are some safety concerns because of the state of the house since the moved in. Traci is a single parent who has already adopted two of her nephews and hold family as a major priority. She has just been a bit overwhelmed and unable to keep up with four messy school age kiddos during summer break.
We are in need of a few volunteer cleaning services and someone willing to assist in putting together some dressers that she bought for the children's room.
