Kinship. The caregiver is a dedicated grandmother who has had legal guardianship of her 3 grandchildren since 2021. She stepped in to care for them after their parents neglected them. Currently, she is living with her mother, but her is mother selling the home, she has had to secure a new residence. She successfully put down a deposit and is set to move into her new home on May 1, 2025. However, since all the furniture in her current home belongs to her mother, she will not be taking any with her. She will be purchasing beds for the children and a couch to ensure they have a comfortable and stable living environment. One essential item she still needs assistance with is a refrigerator. She has carefully selected a model from Lowe’s, which is well suited for her family's needs, particularly as she likes to provide fresh meals for her grandchildren. Detailed information on the selected refrigerator will be provided to the responder. The caregiver is hardworking with a stable income, and she also receives Kin-GAP payments, which help cover the children's needs. However, moving expenses, including a $4,000+ security deposit, have placed a financial strain on her. Providing this assistance with the refrigerator would help alleviate some of this burden as she transitions into her new home, allowing her to continue focusing on caring for her grandchildren. Any support would be greatly appreciated in helping this grandmother maintain a stable and nurturing home for her family.

Caregiver/NMD needs a new dresser for the dependent children placed in her home. Caregiver has been working hard to support children with high needs in the Lancaster community. One of these children had a crisis and broke the bedroom furniture in the resource parent’s home. The caregiver has replaced most of the furniture, but could use support replacing the bunk bed frame and dresser. The caregiver is committed to continuing to support at-risk youth in her community. This need is critical to ensuring this amazing caregiver can continue to support both the children in her care and additional children that are detained by the Department. Unfortunately, the Department does not assist community caregivers with replacing broken items in their home after a child is replaced. The estimated cost of the need/s being requested is $425.00.

The Family consists of a single mother of 8 children. This mother is currently having to face the harsh reality of lack of funds to be able to provide the essentials for all 8 children. This mother is the sole provider of their home therefore the mother is faced with securing food for all children before any other necessities as little as new undergarments or even socks. The Mother has been faced with difficult years; she has been facing these years alone and with limited support. Mother has faced significant family trauma and was herself a client of the child welfare system as a child. Financial insecurities not only affect the adults of the home, unfortunately situations like these often become a worry for the children, this is an unfair but harsh reality. Their current situation takes a lot from the magic of the holidays, for this family the worry rises, instead they worry about having enough cool clothing to endure the cold weather. All children are growing faster than mom can come up with funds to get new shoes or clothes. The children would benefit from undergarments, shoes, clothing and dressers to avoid keeping them in boxes. Boy, age 9: size 10, Girl, age 8: size 11, Girl, age 7: size 7/8, Boy, age 4: size 5T, Girl, age 2: size 3T, Twins (boy and girl), age 1: size 18 months, Girl, age 6: size 6/7. Additionally, she is in need of wipes, and pull-ups for the 2-year-old (size 3T-4T).

Husband and wife raising two nephews since one was 7 weeks old and the other at 18 months they are known 21 and 23 year old, they also took in a niece at 6 days old she is now 18 years old, they also fostered a 5 yr boy he is known 23, and fostered a 13 yr who know is 33 years old with a 18 yr old daughter who this caregivers have also raised she is graduating this year. they also have a bio daughter who is 31 with 4 children ages 11,10,8, and 6, This couple will always be care providers for as long as they live, there 21 and 23 year old have autism and the other 23 yr old has severe ADHD there 33 yr old is bi-polar mix which caused her daughter to stay with grandparents when she is not regulated, there Bio Daughter has CP and Mild MR and having 4 children require they help out with her care and the children regularly. This family is always caring and providing for their older children and Grandchildren, so they don’t enter the foster care system, thy spread them self-thin, They need a new dryer which just stopped drying and a desk top computer for use by the whole family, for homework and resources,

Is a grandmother who has been raising her grandson with autism, the mother has severe mental health and self medication issues and her son is in and out of prison neither of these parents took responsibility. Her grandson has had a few mental health hospitalizations and she was robbed a few months ago they came into her home and took about $4,000 she had in cash and jewelry, this set her back financially and is struggled to stay up float she really needs help this month to cover her $1,622.00 rent so she can catch up with her utility bills. This family is composed of mother and father of two daughters 18 and 17 and one son 13 They took in an 8-year-old girl and a 10-month-old that has an open case and is in DCFS they had to go through a lot of adjustment and This family is in need of Bunk beds to accommodate all the kids And a Washer who just gave out. With all these members in the family a washer is necessary. Going to the laundromat is so expensive and time consuming, they do not have the funds available to replace these items at the moment and have reached out for help.

Please help us strengthen a bio family. A young single single father is providing care for his two children, a 2 year old and a 9 year old. Father is requesting assistance to purchase an electric stove to cook for his children and a dresser drawer to store his children’s clothing. Father just moved into his own apartment and is having a hard time furnishing it. Father used all of his funds to pay for a deposit, first and last month and other furniture for the home. Therefore, at this time father is unable to purchase these items. The father has been working really hard to get to where he is at and would benefit from help getting these items. I am advocating on behalf of a relative caregiver who cares for her niece and two children on her own with no outside support. Although caregiver was able to escape a DV relationship last year, she finds it difficult to navigate day-to-day life after the death of her sister and being a now single parent. She has recently obtained child care for her niece so that she can go back to work as an IHSS caregiver to better support her family and provide for their needs. Caregiver just needs a stepping stone right now to help her and her family get to where they need to be. Therefore, I kindly ask for assistance with a gift card for school clothing and shoes for the kids. Family is on housing lists and are stayin in a local motel the last few months. At the end of the month they struggle to wait for their funds to continue paying for nights in the hotel. They will be out of money tomorrow and will be living in a car for the remainder of the month, until they get funded on the 1st. They need 4 nights motel at $130 a night. Any help is greatly appreciated. They are working to remedy the situation but are on hard times.

We are seeking urgent community support for a mother and her 7-year-old daughter who are currently in need of safe and stable housing. The mother is a victim of domestic violence and is without any local family support. She is currently awaiting a court hearing scheduled for May 9th, which will determine whether she is permitted to relocate to Georgia to be with extended family.

At this time, the mother has exhausted her financial resources and is unable to secure housing on her own. We are asking for assistance to help cover the cost of a 14-day hotel stay, totaling approximately $141 per night, to ensure she and her daughter have a safe place to stay during this transitional period.
