Greetings,
This request is for a single mother who is actively working towards becoming reunified with her son. This mother is struggling with her finances, transportation, and communication. After speaking with the mother, she is in need of a cell phone and minutes to be able to stay in communication with all parties of this case and to be able to schedule for appointments as well as spend family time with her son. Mother is very motivated to become an active part of this case and would greatly appreciate this barrier being removed. This phone will also assist her in becoming self sufficient as she will be able to utilize community resources to better her current situation. A phone and minutes card from Walmart is appreciated.
Thank you for your generosity! It is highly appreciated by the family.

The LOFT, (formerly known as The Family Visitation Center) which is the the area of DHS that starts family time with families when children are initially removed from their home. We are located within the DHS building at 1675 GOG Rd. During the week prior to Christmas, The LOFT staff would like to share some holiday spirit with the families we serve. To do this we are in need of some holiday games, crafts to make, and gifts to give. The LOFT will be closed December 22-26, so we will be having all families come in prior to their regularly scheduled time in order to make sure the families get to see each other before the holiday. We will be having our holiday celebration with families the week of December 18th-21st, so the soonest y'all would want to start givings gifts! On average we have about 25-35 families coming to have family time during a week. Age ranges of children are from newborn to 17, but on average children's ages are newborn to 13 years old. The LOFT staff would love to be able to provide games, crafts, and even give the children some small gifts during the week prior to Christmas to make this time special for the families. The parents of these children are not always able to buy anything for their children so any help with these items would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Special Instructions:
This request is for The Department of Human Services to help support family time. This can be delivered to DHS.

A mother and daughter have been evicted by the father and sought shelter. They identified an apartment and were able to get in right away. Mother is now 30 minutes away from her job and daughter's preschool. Mother is needing help with firsts month's rent so she can have a safe and secure place to live. Mother is starting over with new furniture and belongings around the holidays which has been a financial burden. If this need is met, she will have a roof over her and her daughter's head and can save money this month to afford rent in January 2024.
If this is picked up the lease can be provided for payment needs.

We have a student that is living with a distant family member due to significant family challenges over the past year. The family member has a hard time supporting our student and isn't recieving any extra financial support to do so. Our student had some credit deficiencies last year with having a tumultuous home life, family refusing to bring her to school, and being in small living conditions with many siblings. She is working hard to graduate this year but has a lot of credits to make up online. We are requesting a lap top (or gift card to purchase the lap top) so that we can support her when she is at home, to work on obtaining the credits she needs to graduate. Thank you so much for your consideration!

We have a single mom to four children. She is currently working two jobs to help ends meet; however this is still not enough for the family to get by. One of her kiddos who is a full-time high school student has started a job to help pay for some of the bills. When mom is at her night job, the same student is in charge of caring for the other kids in the house (dinner, bathtime, bedtime, etc). We have been able to rearrange the student's schedule to accommodate her need to work and help watch her sibling's at home. However, this new schedule means more online classes and the family is currently without internet or the ability to purchase a computer for the online work. She needs these resources in order to stay on track for graduation. Any help that you can provide this student would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The department is working with a family and all kids were removed from moms care. Mom is currently homeless and trying to get back on her feet. In order for mom to get caught up financially, she will need help paying for a hotel room at Laquinta for one month. We are asking for gift cards to pay for this. With a stable place to live we are hoping mom is able to get back on her feet and take steps towards reunification with her kids. She is greatly appreciative of any help. Thank you! Mom priced out how much it would cost to stay in this hotel, and with taxes it is just under $2000. Thank you for your consideration

He is looking for employment and trying to get into sober living and currently has very few belongings. He is engaged in his case and spending daily time with his daughter. Kinship provider in an effort to be able to keep kids placed with family, is asking for help with rent for the month. This request will help the Kinship provider continue to support her 13 year old daughter and 2 year old son while also providing for the needs of the 5 month old girls. This single mother starts her new job next week, and this support will help her as she gets settled into her new job. Please add any additional funds to activate a gift card.

An expectant mother has had a very difficult pregnancy and is on bed rest. The situation is complicated by the fact that her husband does not drive. Due to these circumstances, the family has not been able to prepare for the imminent birth of their baby. A car seat and stroller as well as some newborn sized diapers and wipes would be a great help to them.

We have a mother of two children who has recently had multiple surgeries that have prohibited her from being able to work consistently for the last few months. Due to her health issues, her husband has had to cut back his work hours in order to care for his wife and children. As a result, the family has fallen far behind on their bills and their utilities were cut off. They were able to get an extension due to the medical need, but owe more than $2000 that needs to be paid by April 6. I've broken down this request into increments of $200 because if you can help with any part of this expense it would be so helpful to this family. Thank you in advance!
