Mother and Father of a 6-month-old baby needs help with obtaining a baby playpen and baby playmat to place under the baby playpen. The family lives in an apartment with hardwood floors and their son has recently started crawling. His parents are so happy about this milestone but also concerned due to the fact that their floor is very hard. The baby playpen and baby playmat would help with their son's safety and wellbeing. Father is entering Trial Reunification and a YMCA Family membership would be such a blessing for these three energetic children! With a family membership, the family would have access to sports, activities, discounted child care, community and allow Father to practice self-care of working out while the children are in the provided child care.

The family membership cost is $78 per month, however with dad being a military veteran, the military discount brings it down to $68 per month.

Single mother has 4 guardianship children and 1 foster child. She is currently recovering from a recent surgery and cannot work. The air conditioning in her 2009 GMC Denali has gone out and she does not have the funds to get it fixed. The initial amount we found may be close to $1500 or more. We are asking for $200 to get the process started by diagnosing the issue.

We have a very loving Single older mom, that has taken in 2 sibilings. Resource parent has been off work due to drib=ving out of state to pickup children placed. Resource parent stated it was a very expensive trip and she is off work and not getting paid. Resource parent is needing help with groceries. I have two children currently in foster foster care. These kids share a closet and an unfortunate accident happened in the foster home where the children's clothes were infested with mold and ants. The foster parents tried to salvage what clothes they could but unfortunately most of the clothes needed to be thrown out. leaving the children with a small amount of clothing left. the foster parents are working to try to replace the clothes but any additional help that could be provided to these kids would be greatly appreciated.

A two-parent household with two children—a seven-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son—is requesting assistance with a gas card. The mother is employed full-time through her local school district, while the father works part-time and continues to actively seek full-time employment. Both parents are engaged in their services; however, travel-related expenses have become a financial burden. Gas assistance would help alleviate this strain and support the family’s continued participation in required services.

Foster mom and foster dad (grandparents to the child) recently adopted their grandchild. shortly after adoption they unexpectedly took in the newborn sibling. They were not expecting to take in the newborn and had given away all of the things they had for an infant leaving them with nothing for a the new baby. Grandparents have been working on getting all of the things they need and could use some help with some newborn diapers, a double stroller as the kids in their home are both very young (two under 2), and some infant formula (Enfamil Soy Formula) while waiting for OHS to be able to help support them starting in August. The family is very appreciative of any and all help they receive while helping provide a safe and loving environment for their grandchildren. They very much want to provide this safe environment for their grandkids but it has been a lot to take on as they have very young children in the home again so it is almost like they are starting over as parents. OHS is very thankful to the family and all of our community partners for helping provide for others in need.

Genesis is a Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) that provides 24/7 care and support for boys who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, or disruption. Our goal is to create a safe, stable, and therapeutic environment that fosters healing and growth.

We are requesting two Smart Compressor Dehumidifiers for the boys’ home. Oklahoma’s high humidity levels, especially during the summer months, can lead to unsafe moisture buildup in bedrooms and shared living spaces. This puts the children at risk for respiratory issues, mold exposure, and general discomfort.

These dehumidifiers will help regulate indoor humidity, protect air quality, and promote a healthier living environment for the boys in our care. Most importantly, this creates safer sleeping conditions and supports overall well-being, particularly for individuals with asthma or other allergies or sensitivities.

Meeting this need will directly improve the health and safety of our residents, allowing us to maintain a stable and nurturing home environment.

Our team is requesting a portable air conditioner for the garage workspace of our dedicated maintenance staff member at Genesis. The Oklahoma summer heat and humidity are extreme, and his garage can become dangerously hot. This air conditioner will help regulate the temperature and protect his health and well-being as he works.

Our maintenance man is an essential part of keeping our residential program running safely and smoothly. He is often the first to respond to urgent facility issues, and his reliability has a direct impact on the safety and stability of the boys in our care. Without him, we would not be able to provide the safe, functional, and dignified environment these children deserve.

By meeting this need, you are directly supporting the well-being of the children in our program by ensuring the safety and sustainability of the man who makes so much of that possible.

I’m reaching out with an urgent request to support a mother who is working hard to rebuild her life. After successfully getting back on her feet and maintaining sobriety, she recently encountered a major setback—she lost her job unexpectedly. She is actively seeking new employment and applying to several opportunities, but her rent for her sober living program is due this Friday, June 13th, and she is currently unable to cover the cost. Without assistance, she risks losing the stable and supportive housing that has been a critical part of her recovery journey.
