There are two biological parents who are in need of gas cards to help them maintain employment and allow for increased visitation with their 3 young children. The increased visitation will allow the case to move towards reunification for the children and their biological family. Parents have made huge strides towards reunification and are working hard towards achieving permanency for their children. A gas card would tremendously help the family and would be appreciated.

A grandmother and her two grandchildren are dealing with the death of their grandfather several weeks ago. Plans to buy a new stove and washing machine were upended by the costs of the head of household's funeral. The grandmother is asking for assistance with getting a new stove and washing machine into the house for the welfare of the children as finances are running short. There is income from different sources, but the closeness of events has hurt the family's savings. The appliances do not need to be purchased if reliable replacements could be found. Assistance would be greatly appreciated at this time.

Mom lives in Texas and has made great strides to get back on track and has done so. She is currently taking care of her other child safely and financially and has paid off all her debt to get back to Oklahoma. The child recently lost his only other family member (grandmother) in which the child had a strong bond a couple of months ago from organ failure. Mom has secured the money for the Uhual; paid off all outstanding debts and has the funds for the 1st months’ rent on the new apartment in Tulsa; but is just short of the deposit. The kiddo has been placed in a new foster home and bio mom has attended and participated in all services with OKDHS, including making a complete lifestyle change to do so. We have a mother having major hardships at the moment. Her vehicle has broken down and this is making it nearly impossible to get to work and is hindering visiting with her children. Uber and Lyft is costing her a fortune and it's hard for her to keep up with everything. This mother is living pay-check to pay-check and isn't getting easier for her. This has caused her to miss family time with her children, which isn't like her. She has reached out to us pleading for whatever help she can get. A mechanic has told her that it will cost upwards $800 to fix her vehicle. With paying rent and everyday necessities she has been unable to reach that amount. The mechanic says the engine has completely gone out. She does have another vehicle the same model as the one she has now that is down due to a wreck she had. The engine in that one is fine and the mechanic advised her that that engine could be put in her current vehicle but $800 is the best price she has been given. This mother only seeks help, it doesn't have to be cash, just possibly someone that help get her vehicle up and going again. So if anyone fixes vehicles or knows someone that does she would appreciate that greatly. She is devastated that she has had to miss seeing her children when she is unable to afford or get a ride to family time. Any help from the community would benefit her in so many ways.

I have a family of 2 adults, and 5 children ages 9, 12, 13, 15, and 17. The younger 3 children report never having beds to sleep on. They report sleeping on air mattresses up until this last week when they popped, to where they are sleeping on tile floors with a blanket. The family needs assistance with beds, mattresses, sheets and pillows. Assisting this family getting mattresses will help these children get a good nights rest to thrive in academics, sports and day to day life. Christmas is coming up and would make their Holiday season special!

Mom has been trying to pay her rent as she gets paid but lost an income from separating from her children's father who is not providing financial support to their children. Any assistance towards her rent this holiday season would be greatly appreciated. If more information is needed please contact Case Worker.

A family of 3 is in need of help. The family is currently working services while their 2 year old is staying with friends. The family is struggling to not only be able to see their child, but also to make it to appointments and to work as their car is unreliable and they do not have the funds to fix it. Mom is pregnant and is working to help support her and her children while Dad is also looking for a job. Bus passes for these parents would not only help them make it to the appointments for their pregnancy, but also to work so they can continue receiving care and services and so they can see their kiddo while they work on getting her back home. Please help this family get back on their feet and support them in their time of need.

A bio mom has worked hard to reunify with her 2 and a half year-old son and he has now been back in her home for over a month. Mom currently does not have a washer or dryer at her apartment and has been going to the laundromat outside of her family time visits. Having a washer in her residence would greatly help as her son has autism and weekly trips to the laundromat for extended periods of time are a difficult outing for him. Any help with this request is greatly appreciated and this request can be met by multiple parties if necessary. Thank you for all you do!

Mount Arukah houses teenage girls who have survived sex trafficking. The residents are learning New Life Skills and one of them is Etiquette Sessions with Good Manners in Tulsa. This is a great learning experience that they will take into their adult lives. It is a one-and-a-half-hour sessions for each category. Good Manners will have the residents in a 6-week program and have four different categories for the residents. The second category, they will be going over is Personal Appearance and Dating and being responsible x 2 sessions. To be able to work with Good Manner we need the funds for each category. The fee is $300 per category. Personal Appearance and Dating class covers body image and conflict resolution, behaving as a young respectable teenager in the dating world, understanding boundaries, and respectful behavior toward others. The fee covers printed material that covers areas of the nominated sessions.Thank you!

Burmese Family #1
Catholic Charities will welcome a Burmese refugee family in December. This family is a mom with three teenagers. We do not have beds for the family and would welcome help providing the family with beds. I do not have a firm date for when they will arrive in December, but we will set up their apartment on December 4th. Then after they are welcomed at the airport, they will go straight to their furnished apartment with their case manager!
Gender Neutral Items are best.
Catholic Charities will walk with this family thru immediate case management for 3 months after their arrival. We will help with apartment set up, legal documents (like SS#), job placement, establishing medical care, enrolling the kids in school, and much more. Helping the family with household items is a huge way to help the family get established in Tulsa!
