The youth would like to enroll in the upcoming Driver's Education course, scheduled for 6/9-6/11/25. The youth has just started working so that he can save to purchase a car. A driver's course is needed so that he can be more independent as he prepare for adulthood. The vehicle will be used to get him to and from school and work. If this need is not met, the youth's mobility will be limited.

Youth is currently a full-time student. Youth is not working at this time due to focusing on college. Youth is going to Korea to study broad. Youth is requesting financial assistance to assist while she is in a different country. Youth will appreciate any amount provided to her. Youth does prefer if the funds are in cash or a visa card. I am working with a single mother who has one daughter under the age of 5. The mother works full time and currently lives with family as she is trying to get back on her feet. She lives in an area where there is not public transportation and she does not have anyone to take her to work at the time of day she needs to clock in. This mother would greatly benefit from a Uber or Lyft gift card to utilize for transportation to work. At maximum it can cost approximately $30/day for her to get there and back to work. This mother works hard and is wise with her income, she just needs a little help in this way.

She is also open to meeting with someone who might be able to provide her rides to work to give her the space she needs to save up for transportation of her own.

This family is small but is need of a lot of items. The oldest sister has taken her two younger sisters in and moved into an apartment to help accommodate the girls and space. The caregiver has no furniture and could use anything to help from dining table, couch, beds for both girls, bedding, groceries, cleaning supplies, and anything to help make the home.

This family has been living in a motel for 2 years. The mother is physically disabled and cannot walk or stand without a walker. She normally lays flat on her back most days. She cannot sit in regular chairs for long periods of time (recliners are ideal). The daughter is 14 and has not had her own bed in 5 years she normally sleeps next to mom. The apart has room for a twin bed for her. There is a 3-year-old grandson that come to the home. Having a sofa or loveseat would be nice to watch TV(they don't have one yet) or read a book. They live off of SSDI. They don't have any dishes, towels, etc. This family is completely starting over.

The PAL (Preparation for Adult Living) Program in DFPS is planning an event for our foster youth (Ages 14-21) to attend the Science Museum this summer (07/29/2025). We plan to invite 15 youth that are interested in the science field (engineering, natural science, animal science, anthropology, physics, geology and more). Many of these youth will get to experience the science museum for the first time. We will be attending the science museum during the free Tuesday admissions.

We wanted to request assistance to purchase tickets to the Cockrell Butterfly Center exhibit that is not included in the free admission. The youth would get to walk through a living butterfly habitat, marvel at spectacular live and preserved specimens of some of the world’s largest and weirdest arthropods, and enjoy interactive games and quizzes. The youth would explore the fascinating world of insects and arthropods in a hands-on experience that brings science to life. Groups 10+ booked in advanced is $12 per ticket. The youth and PAL program would be really appreciative for any assistance. Thank you so much.

The mother and children live with a grandmother. The home is hot, and the family would be benefit from air conditioning. The child is diabetic. This will help ensure that the home is cool with the summer months coming up and help keep the children safe.

The youth is in need of funds for graduation (cap & gown) fees. The youth is also in need of the funds to take Driver's Education course to learn to drive so that she can get herself to and from appointments.

Youth is really good in sports. He did play basketball and football this year he did well in both. Youth is interested in wanting to do a basketball camp for the summer. The camp of his choice starts June 9th. This camp will take place for 3 weeks in Ohio and Las Vegas. His family is not able to pay the funds for him to join the camp.

Youth was recently placed in a Kinship Placement with a relative. The placement has been going well and youth is doing okay adjusting. Due to this new change the caregiver has had to miss some work days to assist youth with all his appointments and needs and they have fallen behind on rent.

Request for Bedding and Household Support A single mother of five children is working hard to provide for her family while facing significant financial challenges. She is trying to create a safe and stable home environment for her children as she prepares for their return to her care. The children include two older kids, ages 10 and 11, and three children under the age of five. The family is in urgent need of the following items to support a hazard-free and nurturing home: • Bunk beds or individual small beds for the older children • A toddler bed (for a 1.5-year-old & the three year old) • A crib (for an infant) • Basic home furnishings (any available support in this area would be deeply appreciated)

Currently, the children’s beds are broken and unusable, and the home lacks essential furniture. Providing these items would significantly improve the children’s quality of life, safety, and comfort.
