Single mother raising her three children ages 11, 12 and 7 needs support to pay light utility bill. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she has fallen behind on her utility bill and is at risk of disconnection. Mom is caring for her children and doing her best to make ends meet. Despite her efforts, her current income is not enough to cover all her essential expenses this month. She is seeking assistance to help pay a past-due utility bill of $85.00 to ensure her family can maintain access to electricity, heat and food. Assisting this mom with this month will get her back on track.

Forsyth County DFCS is currently serving a family with a kinship placement in Roswell (30076). The kinship provider just lost her job and could use some assistance while she searches for a new one. She just spent over $2000 on car repairs so her funds are very tight for the month and the loss of employment has set her back even further. We are asking for assistance with groceries and gas. Thank you for your consideration in helping this relative caregiver who is trying to keep her grandchildren out of foster care.

We currently have a family who has 4 children. The family fell on hard times due to making an agreement with someone for a new place. The family paid the deposit to someone, and the person ran off with their deposit backing out of the deal. The family is currently now staying in a motel where they are paying week to week on Wednesdays until they receive their tax refund. The family is stating that they may not have the payment for next Wednesday on 5/14 and are in need of assistance.
The family is also down to one vehicle due to one of their vehicles needing parts (2003 ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 8 Cyl 4.6L). The vehicle is in need of a timing chain, oil pump, and water pump. The grandfather has advised that he can fix the vehicle if the parents obtain the parts, but the parents do not have the extra funds to get the parts needed.

I am writing in behalf of my client is a single mother of 3 who recently experienced a DV incident, leaving her in a state of crisis. With the assistance of a navigator, she sought immediate help and was able to secure temporary transportation through PADV. Unfortunately, the transportation attempts were unsuccessful as the Uber drivers refused to transport her due to the absence of car seats for her children. The client was given a 24-hour window to reach a shelter. However, due to the transportation issues, she was unable to make it within the given time frame. The following day, she was informed that the shelter spot had been taken. She spent the next three days trying to secure another spot without success.

In the meantime, the client contacted her landlord, who changed the locks to ensure her safety and has also lowered the rent to help client. She has also applied for additional public assistance, including TANF and Cash Assistance, and currently awaiting approval. The client has been a victim of financial abuse which has left her in a vulnerable financial state. She recently discovered that her ex-partner did not pay the light bill, resulting in an outstanding balance of $209. The electricity is scheduled for disconnection on May 9th, 2025. The client is urgently seeking assistance to cover the light bill to prevent disconnection. This support is crucial for her and her children as they navigate this challenging period and work towards stability and safety.

We have a wonderful family in need of a little support as they embark on their new chapter. They are seeking assistance with their $500 move-in fee, which will help them secure their home. Additionally, they would greatly appreciate help with essential furniture and household items, like pots and pans, to make their space truly welcoming. We are requesting assistance in purchasing specialized shoes for a six-year-old child currently in foster care. This child was born with club feet and recently underwent surgery on her legs. She has just had her casts removed and now wears leg braces to support her healing and mobility.

Due to the braces, she requires comfortable, practical shoes that are easy for her foster parents to put on and will not hinder her recovery. She currently wears a child size 12, though a slightly larger size may be needed to accommodate her braces. She enjoys light-up shoes, but most importantly, the shoes must provide comfort, stability, and ease of use. She cannot stomp or place excessive pressure on her feet at this time.

We are seeking either: • A pair of light-up shoes suitable for braces, or • A gift card to allow the foster family to purchase appropriate footwear.

What will happen when this need is met: When this need is met, the child will have access to shoes that support her mobility, comfort, and healing. Proper footwear will help prevent further injury or discomfort as she adjusts to walking with braces. It will also make daily activities easier for both her and her foster parents, reducing stress and promoting her independence and confidence as she recovers.

My client has shown remarkable resilience in the face of these hardships, and she is actively seeking ways to improve her situation. We have a family of 3 including a single mom with two toddler twins (one girl and one boy) that recently moved into a new place but the mother does not have enough financial support to buy any living room furniture at this time. The family is in need of a couch, a living room table, a rug, a television and any other living room equipment as the living room is completely bare at this time.

This is a second and follow up request for support on behalf of a family of six who are facing mounting financial challenges. In addition to struggling to meet basic needs like food, the family has now received a water disconnection notice. They have been behind on their bill for many months, and the amount owed has grown to over $2,000.

While they are not seeking assistance with the full balance, they are humbly asking for help covering $300 to prevent the imminent shut-off. Our organization is also looking for additional resources that can help the family pinpoint why the bill is so high. The mother shared that with reduced work hours and limited income, it has been extremely difficult to keep up with all essential expenses. She works at a warehouse and experienced a significant cut in her hours, reducing the family’s already limited income. The father is currently unable to work, as the construction company he was employed with is now requiring a Social Security Number, which he does not have.

Thank you in advance for the support. I have a fictive kin who will be a placement for a 14 year old you female youth who is being removed from a foster home. The fictive kin is needing a twin size mattress, twin sheets and pillows. If we are able to get these items we will be able to move the youth tomorrow to the fictive kins home. We are looking to make this happen as soon as possible as we do not want to disrupt school. This will allow the youth to be comfortable as we work through get the youth back to her family.

We have a family of six in urgent need of food assistance. The household consists of four girls and one boy. The mother is actively looking for employment through a temp agency. However, the agency requires her to purchase specific uniforms before she can start working. Providing assistance with food and the costs of these uniforms would bring significant relief and stability to the family.
