Kinship foster parent took seven children into their home. They are taking the last two siblings this week and need one chest of drawers for the children being placed. The kinship home is not receiving any payments at this time and need help with this item. It will help preserve a placement and allow siblings to all be placed together in one home.
Kinship foster parent needs help with an exterminator. They took placement of seven children, when the second bunch of children were placed in the home they brought roaches in with them. The kinship foster parents are not getting payment yet and are unable to afford the exterminator as their money is going to care for the home and children. Please help to preserve this placement.
A foster mother is taking in an infant and could use help with obtaining a crib, crib mattress, and bedding. She has everything else she will need in order to take care of this one month old baby boy.
The teen placed in the home is in need of a dresser, as hers broke. New or used dresser is appreciated. This will help preserve the child's placement. The bedroom is small and can only fit a slim dresser if possible.
We have three children who are living with a safety plan monitor at this time. The safety plan monitor reported that the children do not have many uniforms for school and she is unable to provide them as she is on a fixed income. We would like to provide the children with gently used or new uniform shirts and pants. We are in need of Navy Blue, Red, White and Gray polo shirts are plain t-shirts and Navy blue, Black or khaki pants. Sizes: slim 7 for (girls) and size 7 (girls) for shirts. Size 10 (boys) in pants and 10-12 in shirts (boys). Than you.
This kinship took placement of a 10 year old girl this week and are needing assistance with a twin bed for her to sleep on. initially thought they had one in storage but that is not the case.
I have a child age 5 who was recently moved from his aunt's home to a new kinship placement very quickly. The child was sent with little to no clothing and not too many of his clothes fit that were sent. The child attends pre-school and would need clothes for school.

Becky:
For the 5-drawer dresser, do you mean a 5-drawer chest of drawers? (Taller & more slender) or an actual dresser (usually 6-9 drawers, longer, and with a mirror)?
I am requesting a washer and dryer for a family in need. The parents have worked hard to overcome addiction and poverty. The parents have been clean and have been working hard to overcome poverty and work their way back to a normal life for their children. The family live in a remote location and a washer and dryer will help relieve a tremendous burden for them. These parents are both working to pay fines, pay rent and utilities, and furnish their home. Through it all they have maintained their faith and sobriety. This along with other help will prevent removal of the children from their parents. Thank you in advance.
Laura:
We can provide a washer and dryer. Can you confirm if the dryer needs to be electric, or natural gas? (What type of hook-ups does their house have?) Thanks!
A nonverbal autistic child in foster care is in need of an iPad. There are special apps for iPad that allow nonverbal individuals to improve the ability to communicate. The iPad would allow the child to put words and symbols together and eventually create sentences using images.
A family who has opened their hearts and home to three siblings is in need of a set of bunkbed (twin over twins bed). By supplying this need you will be helping these foster children by giving them a safe and comfortable place to sleep at night.
We have a family of 7 (5 children and 2 adults) that are in need of financial assistance to help with rent for one month. The family has had a high demand on finances in the last two months, including increased travel to take a child to and from school daily (two round trips daily) in another town, approximately 40 miles one way, while the child was transitioning into trial reunification into the home. This increase in financial obligation has affected their ability to pay their rent this month, resulting in an eviction notice. This would assist in this family being able to catch up on their finances and in the reunification of 5 children into the home. This can be broken into 4 separate donations of $237.50 each.
Mike:

Tamera:
Has this been fully met or do they still need assistance with rent? The total of $580 does not meet the $950 total asked for so if still needed we can do $100.
ICW currently has a foster family in need of materials to repair the floors in their home. This family has two children, ages 2 and 4 that have been in the home for nearly two years. This is a foster family that goes above and beyond for the two children in their home, even having appointments for different therapies 5 days a week. The four-year-old child has severe trauma from prior to being in ICW custody. One of the child's coping mechanisms is to jump. This has weakened the floor in the home to the point of sagging. The foster family did not ask for help, it was noticed by the caseworker. When it was inquired into it was reported that they are waiting for their tax return that has been held up due to the children being fraudulently claimed by someone else for the 2021 year. The caseworker has watched these foster parents go above and beyond the duties to make sure these children have the services, love and everything that they need to progress in a positive way. The foster dad is capable of doing the work; however, it is not in the budget at this time to purchase the materials. This family cannot receive any help from Cherokee Nation Housing Rehabilitation due to where they reside. This family did not ask for help and would be so overwhelmed with gratitude and emotion if someone was to help them. Updated on January 03, 2023 by an Agency Worker The foster family is still in need of supplies such as wood, screws, nails or other items to help repair the homes floor. Any and all donations of such items would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Laura:
I will share this need with Tahlequah Lumber and see if they can help by donating at least some of the supplies. Can the foster dad get me a supply list so they'll know what's needed? Thank you!
